Cica Ghost's Drawn Town

Not long ago in the official Second Life blog, Linden Lab put the spotlight on a place made by an artist: "Drawn Town." Designed and built by Cica Ghost, the exhibit is the latest by the Serbian artist whom has made a number of builds ever year since 2013. Klaus Bereznyak took a look at the place, or rather two looks. The place looks quite different at nighttime.

Reader Submitted: Skunkie Party

Over time, Club Cutlass, the main club of the Sunweaver community, has gone through a number of changes. From about 2009 to Feb 2012, the club was of a Meso-American "pyramid" design. Among the events held was this "skunk party."

Zorro Wuramunga took these two pictures of the event of which the only clue of the time was the background. Then as now, the club has the air of the sweet smell of friendship.

Reader Submitted: The Little Cinema At Road 12

Silent movies may seem like a relic of a bygone era, but they do have a style that some find a refreshing change from the "ready-made fast-food blockbusters" of today. Ciska Riverstone sent in a reader submission about"The Little Cinema." Located in a small building in the Odie sim just off Route 12, it doesn't seem like much on the outside, but one can step in and relax to watch these films that are replaced every Friday afternoon.

Annoucement: Le Cirque de Nuit Opens This Weekend

After months of careful preparation, Idle Rogue's Le Cirque de Nuit opens and runs again on March 25th, 26th, 27th at 7pm slt and one 2 pm matinee on March 26th

The show is tour-de-force virtual entertainment. Loosely referencing Erin Morgenstern's novel "The Night Circus", builder Gloriana Maertens has created a magical circus environment in the sky above Idle Rogue. From the moment you arrive, you feel the shimmering in the air, and the enchantment begins.

As you take your seat, we will assume control of your camera and embark together on a sparkling journey, of shadows and light, sounds and visions, astonishment and delight.

A collaborative experience, Le Cirque de Nuit has been crafted by some of the best performers and builders in SL at the height of their careers. It's a black and white steam-punk extravaganza that features clever concepts woven together by an extremely professional team. Produced by Chryblnd Scribe, with a stage scripted and managed by Arrehn Oberlander, you will witness thrilling performances by dancers who have honed their skills in the great troupes of our time.

Follow the slurl and click the board at stage right in the Acuo Theatre!

More New Year's Eve Pictures

At Club Zero Gravity on New Year's Eve, we had a few people switching to deer avatars, "Happy Nude Deer," and one other: skunks. Two friends of Dusk Griswold showed up as stinkers, and others switched over, resulting in a few jokes about perfuming and a "stinky 2013." The commode-ian I can be sometimes, I went with the joke. Besides, black and white outfits are often worn on the holiday as well.

Hopefully 2014 brings the sweet smell of success.

Also at Club Zero Gravity, after the ball had dropped at Times Square in New York, DJ Cynthian Farshore switched to a "Baby New Year" outfit. I hesitated putting up the picture as Cynthia's avatar is a unique one - anyone who's heard of her doesn't need a name tag to recognize it, and thought the intention of the joke was just for the crowd. Talking to her later, she told me to go ahead and print the picture, "I imagine you'll be making a cartoon out of it."

So what would you choose for a punch line? ;-)

And finally, Jasmine Dawn and I sharing a tender moment in a slow dance.

Happy New Year everyone.
