Taking A Few Pictures

With the future of the Sunweaver sims in doubt, been going around taking pictures of the place. One was the Sunbeamer HQ where Rita would hold occasional meetings, and place items that brought back memories.

These are just a couple of those I've taken, and others have been taking some as well.

In the meantime, efforts to save a little of the land continue.

It Came From Second Life Birthday Chat: Fun With Ballooning

In Second Life Birthday group chat, talk turned to the balloons the Moles had set up for people to ride around. Camden McAndrews showed off a couple pictures, one "Ballooning over the BBB." When a Rubbery Toy joked "seems you'd need a permit for that," Camden laughed and mused, "Next thing you know, we'll have Bellisseria Balloon Pilot's licenses."

"Of course, sometimes things don't go exactly as planned."

Just some of the fun from SLB group chat.

Reader Submitted: More Relay Track Pictures

Kamida Delec sent more pictures. One suggesting she just missed an event on American Cancer Society sim on Sunday, "Celebrate Cancer Survivors Day with us."

 "There's a suspicious amount of Giraffes in this years RFL event....🤔 🕵🏻 🕵🏻‍♂️ 🕵🏻‍♀️"

"So many giraffes! Perhaps the agents of S.K.U.N.C.L.E. should do some investigation regarding a giraffe world domination complot."

Raglan Shire Accepting Applications For Artwalk

Some news for artists in Second Life aspiring and established. Raglan Shire is accepting applications for it's Artwalk, one of the largest yearly art shows in Second Life.

Residents of Second Life are invited to show their original artwork during this event.  Reproductions of original RL artwork (painting, drawing, digital fine art, printmaking that can be imported and put on a prim) are encouraged, along with SL photography, manipulated photography and sculpture.

In past years, we have had between 120-150 artist participants exhibiting in spaces over several sims and hope for another good turnout this year for the 21st Artwalk. The show will include space in Raglan Shire tree city, Raglan Commons, Heron Shire forest, Morning Shire park and Athen Shire village. The 2D artwork will be displayed along hedgerows around Raglan Shire, and sculptures in designated areas of Commons, Heron, Morning and Athen Shires.

The event itself tuns from May 17 to June 14, with entries being accepted from now to Monday May 11. Those wanting to enter must fill out an entry form (here).

Kondor’s Art Café

Netera Landar recently went to the grand opening of a new exhibition at Kondor’s Art Cafe, located at Kondor’s Art Center. She also viewed Hermes Kondor's art collection, as well as getting a chance to talk to the artist, and heard just what was meant by the location being an "art cafe."

Commentary: A.I. Art - Is It Stealing Your Art?

One of the burning issues in both the real world and online is Artificial Intelligence, or AI. There have been worries it will eventually destroy the world, and more recently Amazon announced it will be replacing some jobs with AI programs. On the Internet, there's been a big debate about the creations of AI programs: AI art. Some love it, Others hate it. Nydia Tungsten recently had a few things to say on the matter.

Raglan Shire Artwalk

The Raglan Shire artwalk is taking place. This is one of the best known yearly art events in Second Life, and the Raglan community's most popular one.

Across much of their land, numerous pictures, photographs, paintings, and sculptures have been set up.

With some galleries by individual artists.

There was one group of cartoons.

And some 3D sculpture.

Among the things there was the "Art o Matic 3000" which will paint a copy of your profile pic. Just watch out near the end.

The event goes on to Sunday June 15.

More Reader Submitted AI Artwork

Jasmine Dawn did a little more AI artwork, in addition to what was shown last week. This one she was trying to get a more younger version of myself, "From the early years, a vary young and very naïve investigative reporter, barely having knocked the shine off those dress shoes and the smell of a new leather overcoat. A young Bixyl started out on a grand adventure to sniff out the news-worthy."
Then she went for a Japanese style magna comic form (as far as she know, the Asian script is saying random nonsense).

Reader Submitted AI Artwork

Jasmine Dawn has been tinkering with an AI art program, and came out with a few pictures, including one of a certain news fox at the office.

"Let me see if I can add a fedora."

Now this one looks extra cool. Maybe it's the shading, but it came out great.

More to come

Reader Submitted Pictures: Firestorm Anniversary Party

A little more than a week ago, Team Firestorm celebrated their fourteenth anniversary party. While the Newser wasn't able to make it, thankfully someone who was there, Panterapolnocy, sent the Newser some pictures. And so here they are, showing some of the fun those who were there had.

"Big Hair" was the theme at Club Cutlass last Saturday. And in group chatter, Rita was talking about Kylee Gracemount's hairdo, "Kylee, is giving fuzzball a run for biggest hair." I couldn't make it to take pictures. But I got a few. This one from FluffyFoxy364 Resident

This one from Cynthia Farshore

And this one from DeniseUnicorn Toonie

Snowy would comment, "Could say its a big Hare day."

Scenes From The Fantasy Faire

There's quite a bit going on at the Fantasy Faire. At the Fairchylde, I saw four people holding up "Winter is Coming" signs. Were they "Game of Thrones" fans, or perhaps a hint of what is to come?

There's usually a giant avatar somewhere at the Faire. One night, I saw her dancing next to the Fairchyle.

Not all of the action I saw was at the party ship. The "Children of Stories" roleplay is going on, this year, the tale is "The Desert Foxes." A quest to try and find a hidden library in hopes of finding a cure for Desert Fever led them to a mysterious door ...

The hidden library was found. But to the disappointment of the group, the books were all blank, and the guardian had lost it's memory, including of what happened. So the search continued.

Stay tuned for more scenes of the Faire.

Club Cutlass Gets Frozen Over

Friday March 22 was "Fire and Ice" Night at Club Cutlass with DJ Snowbuns playing. Well, the ice part of the event was in full force at one point with the skies turning white with winter storm clouds gathering and soon huge amounts of snowflakes began dropping and accumulating.

And it wasn't long before the Sunnies and friends were dancing in the snow.

The wind and snow lasted for a while. But eventually it stopped and the snow on the grounded quickly melted away, the party going on as before.
