Top Ten Relay For Life Teams

 

 

 The Relay for Life fundraising season has been going on for about a month, and the teams have already raised a lot of money. Four have already passed the Million Linden mark.

 

First is Camping for a Cure,  which has raised over 2,689,000 Linden dollars. Second is BeliforLife, which has brought in over 1,905,000 Linden dollars. Third is The Sugar Skuls at over 1,738,000 Lindens. 

Fourth is Aether Chrononauts Tiny Steps, or ACTS, at over 1,039,000 Lindens. Firth is The River of Life, at over 972.000 Linden dollars. 

The Sunbeamers, the team representing the Sunweaver community where the Newser office is, us in seventh place at over 872,000 Linden dollars.

Weekend in Review

 

 

A number of events took place this weekend. One was the Burn2 "Burnal Equinox" art and music festival (above), which took place from Thursday night to Sunday night. Bay City would also have it's Food Truck Festival on Sunday March 24. There were also a number of Relay events, such as River of Life's Battle of the DJs final show, also on Sunday March 24 (left).

RFL Announcement: Team River Of Life Egg Decorating Contest

 

 Come Join The Fight To Knock Out Cancer!

As as part of The River of Live's, Relay For Life Team we are putting on an egg decorating contest.
100L into the kiosks. Hand it back to secondlife:///app/agent/055ab3b2-9ecd-4e70-ad6f-501f02c661b1/about , and it will be put out to be voted on.

We have given you a full perm egg to be able to explore your mind and creativity! We want to see you create a unique egg to raise money for the fight against cancer! And have fun while doing it!

When you have completed it please return it to Kenashae Bikergrrl and she will place it on our decorated tables with an official RFL kiosk. If you are with another team and wish to split the funds between your team and The River of Life, please let WyldChild Raven know....

  We are Relay!

Memorial Dance by Relay Team River of Live

 

 

 On Tuesday January 9, the River of Life Relay team held a Memorial Dance for one of their own.

 

 A little bit ago we learned that The River of Life team lost one of it's members, Lil'Brat. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few years ago and fought as hard as she could right up to the end. She had done a number of RFL interviews talking about her experiences. Those were hard for her but she knew if it would help someone else to get through the hard times she was up for doing it. She will be greatly missed by many, please send prayers to her family.

 

Dropping by The River venue in the Stonehaven sim, the place was packed with over forty people. Over the radio stream, numerous people talked about Lil'Brat and how she did her best to fight her cancer.

 

A little more than 15,000 Lindens was raised that night for the Relay general funds.

Music by DJ Otenth Paderborn,  The venue is built by Cassie Eldemar and decor by Wildstar Beaumont. This is an great and fun tradition of the steamlands.
