Lacy Day at Nisa

On Friday Novemeber 22 at 2PM SL time, a small memorial event was held in honor of Lacy Musketeer, whom passed away this summer.

Hi folks, we're finally ready to do the memorial for Lacy. It will be held at 2pm on the 22nd of Nov. We'll send out LMs a little while beforehand. If you have a group that she was involved in or who would like to show your support, please contact Oscelot Haalan to see about having your group logo placed on a banner for the ceremony. We look forward to seeing you all there!

The event had some light music and discussion. It was hosted by Amehana Ishtari and Oscelot Haalan.

Addition: Amehana would send the Newser the following message.

Lacy Day will actually be a yearly art day always held on her birthday for artists to work and chat together. Lacy Day and her memorial in Nisa were two separate events.

We look forward to next year's Lacy Day.

We also thank everyone that attended her Memorial ceremony where she was announced as the first modern person to have been instated as a kami of Arashiryuu Yashiro.

Lacy Musketeer has Died

There was sad news announced today. Lacy Musketeer of Nisa/Dreaming Twilight died earlier today. The news was first announced by Amehana Ishtari.

It is a great sorrow to make this announcement but there will be no story stream tonight. Lacy Musketeer, from Rocket City and Nisa/Dreaming Twilight has passed away very suddenly from what they believe was a heart attack this morning.

In her profile, Lacy described herself as:

1. A mom. A real female. With a real kid.
2. A science brain. Science is my big intellectual turn on.
3. An artist. Nuff sed.
4. Taken. Spoken for. Not available for romance.
5.Nursing a rather unhealthy obsession with Q and Z.

My world is amazing and wondrous, as well as frustrating/maddening/trying: from my day job to my endeavours in SL, creating nice things as I can, from graphic design to drawing, from discussions on physics to quiet nights under the stars; each day is new, each day is different, each day is fascinating in its own way. Thank *you* for being part of it.

Lacy is survived by her child, and her real-life/Second Life partner of nine years, Crim Mip. Crim is known in the Sunweaver area as a DJ.

Following the announcements of her passing, a number of her friends gathered at Dreaming Twilight in Ontario (219/213/57). People talked about how they missed her, and how they could best honor her memory.

Lacy's Nisa was a sponsor of the Newser in 2014 and 2015 when it was in Exomoor.

Addition:  Amehana Ishtari and Oscelot Haalan were Lacy's SL sisters in her inworld family

Addition 2 :  Over a year after this was published, the Newser was messaged by someone, stating he was Lacy's real-life husband. Talking to someone close to Lacy, she stated the two were married in the past and he was the father of her son, but the marriage had ended years ago.

New Sponsor, and an Auxillary Office

The Newser has a new sponsor, the Nisa Manelands Roleplaying sims. Owned by Lacy Musketeer, she added this to the deal, an auxiliary office location in Exmoor, just north of where the sim borders Trotsdale to the south. In contrast to the cartoon-like builds in Trotsdale, the Nisa sims are mostly wilderness area.

Grease Coakes wrote about Nisa earlier this year in August. Since then, the area has grown. Lacy's attracted a number of friends to her roleplay, but there's still room for more.

The Pony Sim At Nisa

If you're a Second Life resident, you might have seen one or more cartoonish-looking pony avatars trotting about at the Relay for Life, the Jamm for Genes, or some other event. Maybe you've had a few words with one, and have heard about the Ponies not being just an avatar but some living in sims and communities of their own. Among these is Nisa, which Grease Coakes found out about through Second Life writer Amehana Ishtari. He met up with her again, and she had a number of things to say about the sim and it's residents.

Read Grease's article in Places.
