The PBC Black History Museum

 

At the Premier Business Center, Jarden Alexis has set up a Black History Museum to honor the history of Black Americans. There were a number of people over the course of American history mentioned. The Newser dropped by to have a look.

February is Black History Month, and PBC kicks it off on Sunday, February 8, at 12 PM PT with a live celebration at the Cultural Arts Center and Black History Museum. The event includes live DJs and hosts throughout the afternoon, and invites residents to attend in traditional cultural or classy attire, marking the start of a month honoring Black leaders, innovators, and trailblazers from past to present. 

 

The Premier Business Center is a multicultural business center, virtual museum, and art space focused on education, history, and cultural impact. Its Cultural Arts Center and Black History Museum are open daily for self-guided exploration, featuring exhibits on Black history, civil rights, innovation, and creative achievement through rotating displays and art.

SL Video: PBC Literary Event :"The Corsean Encounter" by Murray M Lee/Bixyl Shuftan

 

Readers likely remember the "Corsean Encounter" book event at the Premier Business Center on August 30.   Tara (ArtemisFlidais) would work on a video of the event. As I was speaking in text, which is hard to see in the video, she used a computer-generated voice, one that sounds better than I actually do (click here if the image doesn't play). 

 

At The PBC Fright Fest Kickoff

 

 Wednesday October 15 was the first day of the "Fright Fest" at the Premier Business Center. At 4 PM, there were dozens there, most in costumes and dancing away to the music. 

 

 Jarden Alexis, the owner of the PBC, was there in a striped outfit and makeup. The DJ was encouraging the crowd over the airwaves while dancing away in a green Power Rangers costume.

 

 There were costumes of all kinds. 

 

 That wouldn't be the only day of the Fright Fest. It's going on again today, Friday Oct 17, at 4PM, as well as Oct 19, 23, and 30. Between parties, one can explore around the haunted town, including an escape room.

The "Corsean Encounter" Book Event

 

 Saturday August 30 at Noon SL time was the "Meet the Author" event at the Premier Business Center, organized by Jarden Alexis, to help publicize the novel I wrote a few months ago, "The Corsean Encounter." About thirty people showed up to hear me talk about the novel, then after the discussion we went to the party room where DJ Nydia played some tunes. 

 

So far, the event has worked with sales going up. And more people are checking out the Newser lately as well (more on that later). We'll have some more pictures up soon.

Black History Month at the PBC And Health Island Heart Health

 

Gemma Cleanslate was recently at two locations in Second Life. She stopped by the Premier Business Center's Cultural Arts Center to look at it's Black History Month exhibit, celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans. Then she stopped by Health Island, which for Valentines Day season has a heart health exhibition.

Gemma Cleanslate went to a couple places to see what was going on there at this time of year. At the Premier Business Center, there's events going on to encourage residents who are US citizens to register to vote. At Yosemite, fall has arrived and the leaves are showing it. But there were also some new places that came about since her last visit.

It's Real Life Election time in the U.S.A!

The Premier Business Center aka PBC Red White and Blue Civic Awareness Voter Registration Music Video Party with VJ Ally Nova is Wednesday, September 4th @6:00 PM slt with random events to continue through out the Month of September Ending Sunday, September 29th @3:00 PM slt!

The attire is casual: Red, White, and/or Blue.

Additional Events will be scheduled and announced as soon and possible.

Everyone is invited to attend any or all of the PBC Red White and Blue Civic Awareness Parties! Our goal is to reach anyone in Second Life who is interested in voting, or qualified to vote in the U.S. A. but for whatever reason, might not be registered to vote in the upcoming election.

We are focusing on Second Life residents who can, and those who are willing to vote as long as they meet the eligibility requirements and guidelines to vote legally.

We will provide information on how to confirm registration status, how to register to vote, how to update voters registrations, voting rights, and so much more for every state throughout the U.S.  

The information provided might not apply to everyone for various reasons however, It is up to the individual to determine if the information is useful and applies to them or not.
