Relay Track Sneak Peek: Steelhead Graffiti

Taken at the Steelhead Salmons' campsite. Someone did a little graffiti poking fun at the team captain, which got a response from him. Which leads to the question, do we start calling him "Fuzzbutt Ortega?"

Sneak Peek: Panda Jenn's Pad Being Rebuilt

Remember Panda Jenn's Pad? It's being relocated to somewhere in Zeta Valley and is being rebuilt. So what will it look like? It's not finished yet, but here's a teaser picture.

There will be an announcement when it does open again.

Relay Track Sneak Peek

From the Sunbeamer camp at RFL Win. As the "little team that could," the Sunbeamers are proud of their record. So they, or rather we since I'm on the team, fly the flag high.

Relay Track Sneak Peek

Taken at RFL Remember. The Meli's Maniacs team have been hard at work on their campsite. It's not finished yet, so we can't show most of it. But we can show their "under construction" sign.

More to come.

RFL Track Sneak Peek: Floaty Frog

Taken at the RFL Weekend track. While walking down the brick road, I saw this huge frog balloon floating in the air over it's campsite. Apparently it wasn't just looking for flies, it was flying after them.

Addition: Kamida would say on Discord, "That frog is HUGE, you can see it from two sims away!" Someone else would make a Terry Pratchet reference.

RFL Track Sneak Peek: Space Bar

Taken at the Relay track. With the theme being Decades of Hope, someone had a retro-future space bar reminiscent of 1950s space movies. Gives the term "moon pie" new meaning.

The Relay Weekend is from Saturday June 8 to Sunday June 9.

Reader Submitted: Deathlands Sneak Peek

From Rebel Wolf (Hermitblue Resident). The Deathlands is having a new build being worked on, and he sent me a picture of one tiny corner. Looks like before the disaster his, the locals were well-informed about the news.

Relay Track Sneak Peek: "No One Should Have To Fight Alone"

This is one sneak peak from the Relay track of which the message "It's no secret: the Relay for Life is about fighting back cancer at the community level. Second Life is our community, and SL is home to one of the largest and most successful virtual Relay for Life event ever coordinated.

"Our amazing community is why this works, and we are once again coming together to put even more Attention on Cancer during the 2022 season, our third year as a Relay team.

"Join us throughout the 2022 fundraising season and at Relay for Life on Second Life on June 11 as we Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back. Team Attention on Cancer welcomes you. We will walk with you. Because no one should have to fight, or Relay, alone."

The Relay Weekend starts tomorrow. Perhaps the most intense 24 hours in Second Life, those with older computers may want to tweak them to better handle the lag. But for those whose computers can handle it, it's also one of the most fun weekends.

Relay Track Sneak Peek

Going about the track, I came across a few ladies at their campsite. When I explained I was taking sneak peek pictures of builds, one laughed, "We're just getting started."

Today marks the start of the "Hopefest," so check out the part of the track that's open.

Relay Track Sneak Peek

No, the Newser hasn't run afowl of the law. This is a sneak peek of one of the displays on the Relay track. So what is it? Come and find out when the sims open. Some will be open in a couple days with the Relayfest that starts on Wednesday June 8.

Stay tuned for more information.

RFL Track Sneak Peek: Public Phone

In a sign of the times, over a week ago New York City took down the last of it's public phones. In an age where most everyone has a cell phone or smartphone, pay phones seem like relics (or a reminder of how old some of us are). But looks like this team is still giving residents the option to call in.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Relay Track Sneak Peek

Another sneak peek from somewhere on the Relay track. So where is it and what is the whole thing? Well, that's for you to find out in a few days when the Relay Track opens. Some of the sims will open early for "Relayfest" on Wednesday June 8.

Stay tuned for more information.

Relay Track Sneak Peek

Another scene from the Relay track. Looks like someone's getting a little medical care. So who is this, and what's the care for? See for yourself as the track opens in a few days.

Stay tuned for more details.
