SL Living Expo Announces 4 Million Lindens Raised At Event

Yesterday February 17, it was announced by Cody and Roxy Chronotis of the SL Living Expo that the event had "surpassed all expectations" and raised over over four million Linden dollars. Details were in a press release on the bottom of the front page of the event blog.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Relay for Life community and beyond, we are thrilled to announce that this year's event has surpassed all expectations. Not only did we exceed our fundraising goals, but we also kickstarted the Relay For Life season with enthusiasm and momentum.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. From our sponsors and participants to the talented performers, this event truly exemplified the power of teamwork and community spirit.

Together we are making a difference in the fight against cancer by raising over $4 million Lindens at the SL Living Expo and that number is still growing. That is over $16,000 USD!

While the Expo events are official over, the sims will be up for another day or two. The fundraising for the Living Expo is about over. But now the official fundraising season is underway, and the various teams are now raising cash. For the Relay this year, things have gotten off to a good start, and it's only the beginning.

Music at the Living Expo

Besides the shopping at the Second Life Living Expo, there are a number of music events every day. I dropped by yesterday at the Island Living Stage in Avadhi (94/205/30). Moonman was playing for an hour starting at 12 Noon, and at 1 PM, Winter took to the stage.

Winter was quickly joined by Oldesoul in dinkie form, and a few other tinies.

Be sure to catch the events at the Living Expo. The Expo goes on to Feb 17.

Second Life Living Expo Is Open

The Second Life Living Expo is taking place. This major Relay for Life event started on Friday February 2, and is taking place on six sims next to American Cancer Society.

SL Living Expo is a Relay For Life of Second Life Mega Event, expanding upon the theme of home and garden and refreshing it in new and exciting ways by adding aviation, nautical, activities and experiences to have a glimpse into the way we live and enjoy Second Life.

The six sims had a variety of terrain. For SLLE Landing Hub, the sim had an urban look, with various shops and stores. For SLLE Activities, the area looked more countryside with various teams having tents. And the shops have a variety of items up for sale, from the indoor and outdoor house and yard decor the event was known for when it was the Home and Garden Expo, to things like arcade games. But there are also music events, auctions, and more.

Among the teams taking part is the team representing the community the Newser has it's main office in, the Sunbeamers, which has a tent at SLLE Activities (210/40/23).

The SL Living Expo At A Glance

There's been a lot going on at the SL Living Expo. On Tuesday March 7, the "Bowling With The Lindens" took place. The residents were the winners of a silent auction, who got to go up against Patch Linden and a few other Lindens and Moles.

Cosmic Mole got some complements for his bowling ability, though more eyes were naturally on Patch. While I was watching, the Lindens as a group were doing better at one point, and there were a few jokes among the resident team, nicknamed the "Kess Tickles" (named for Kess Smith), that the Lindens were pulling some kind of "magic." One mused, "I will hunt your bots down and capture them all if you guys win!  Bonnie bots in my basement!" There were some jokes about the recent list of last names, Kess commenting, "I nearly bit the bullet on a Sausage name." Patch would admit, "hat was my idea!"

I didn't see all the games played, but the resident team pulled ahead in the one I saw, and the score for that particular game was "534 for Kess Tickles Team.... 477 for Patch and the Moles!" Cosmic would muse, "And as your reward... you win a free all-expenses paid trip to a luxurious sandbox, where you'll have a chance to organize your inventory (grin)."

There have been a number of music events at the Expo, DJs and an occasional live musician performing on stage. On Thursday night March 9 it was the turn of DJ Mattie (Mattie Carlton/Mattie Foxpaws), filling in for a DJ who left early. She would raise a total of 7,000 Lindens.

Sunday March 12 is the last day of Expo events, so head on over.

Announcement: SL Living Expo - March 3 to March 12

This Friday March 3 is the start of the Second Life Living Expo. The successor to the Home and Garden Expo, which had it's last event in 2022, there is much and see and do here from music events to silent auctions, to the Vehicle Show, the fun and games area, and of course plenty of items for your home and yard to shop for.

SL Living Expo is one of the Mega Events of Relay For Life of Second Life, which is part of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life fundraising.  The SL Living Expo strives to bring together how we live, work and play in Second Life while raising awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society.

The sims for the event are south of the American Cancer Society sim.
