The New Panda Jenn's Pad

 

Earlier, we reported that Panda Jenn was rebuilding her place in Second Life, Panda Jenn's Pad. She just announced that the rebuilding has been completed enough to officially reopen to visitors. 

 

Previously of an Asian-inspired design, the new Pad at Zeta Valley is a Wild West saloon. It boasts games such as a playable poker table and pool table, as well as a mechanical bull. There's also a second floor, which has a bedroom or two, for those looking for activities of a more private kind. 

 

In the back is a dance floor where presumably the parties in the future will be held. 

 

Besides the saloon, there's other buildings around, giving the place the feel of a Wild West town. This includes a general store, although none of the items are for sale to visitors. On the street, there's a pair of gunfighters staring one another down. Careful about startling them, they'll liable to draw their guns at the slightest poke.

 

As of now, there are no scheduled events, but this may change soon. 

 

So feel free and drop by for a ride on the mechanical bull or play some poker with a friend.

Sneak Peek: Panda Jenn's Pad Being Rebuilt

 

 Remember Panda Jenn's Pad? It's being relocated to somewhere in Zeta Valley and is being rebuilt. So what will it look like? It's not finished yet, but here's a teaser picture.

 

There will be an announcement when it does open again.

Panda Jenn's Pad Needs Help

 

It's been a little while since we last wrote about Panda Jenn's Pad. The Internet cartoonist and artist has been busy in real life, with little time to get on Second Life. She recently messaged the Newser to say she will be having more time to get online and have events there (as well as impromptu meetups with friends). But, there's a problem. 

 

Panda Jenn's friend Logan Bamaisin (Laufiair Hexicola) had been letting the venue stay on his land. But due to his financial situation will soon no longer be able to keep up the payments, at least not without help. Panda Jenn's Pad is of Asian (mostly Japanese) style, and has a number of rooms, including a game room (not all of the games work). There's also a club area for music and dance events, as well as a fish pond and hot tub.

Five More Online Comics, Past and Present

 

 As kids, most of us enjoyed reading the "funny pages" and the comic strips in them. As grownups, we can still love a good comic, and in the age of the Internet we can find some online. Internet comics have one advantage over those in the newspaper, we have a LOT more to chose from and we can go back and read previous strips. The Newser was recently asked to write about a discontinued comic, so here's a look at that and four other comics past and present.

Announcement: Panda Jenn Looking For Furry Avatars to Help With Video Collaboration

 

Panda Jenn (PandaJenn0 Resident) is working on a collaboration project in which the aim is to get a number of people to take part in a video, and those with furry Second Life avatars are invited to take part.

 

I want to do a collaborated video with all you furries dancing. (preferably in fursuit, vr chat avatar, SL avatar, etc.) The final cut will be to the song "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston. If you're interested, please DM me.

 

Second Life residents can contact her via a notecard or IM (both might be best). For those interested who don't have a furry avatar, there are free or nearly free avatars, such as the Wingless avatars, available.

Panda Jenn's Pad Relocated

 

 

 Fans of Panda Jenn (PandaJenn0 Resident), online cartoonist and artist, might like to know that her public hangout, "Panda Jenn's Pad," has moved. With the help of  Logan Bamaisin (Laufiair Hexicola), it was also rebuilt.

The Pad itself is of Asian (mostly Japanese) style, and has a number of rooms, including an art gallery with some of her work and a game room (not all of the games work). There's also a club area for any music and dance parties.

This is the third version of the Pad, the first going up in 2020, and the second in 2021. The second held several events on a sporadic schedule, such as an anniversary party.

Panda Jenn's Pad, Rebooted

Remember Panda Jenn's Pad, which was written about last year? Sadly, it was taken down after the owner of the land left Second Life. But Panda Jenn (PandaJenn0 Resident) recently told me the venue is back. This time, it's high over the Zeta Valley sim.

Like before, it's meant to be a comfortable hangout. As when it was first around, one can listen to the music, as well as dance away to it with a friend, or with one or two bot dancers who are sometimes there. But there have been some video games added. One can also order a drink from Deadpool at the bar. And there's the artwork of Jenn's. She's added many more of her pictures.

Jenn also told me a special party is being planned for the 20th anniversary of the character Panda Jenn. It's scheduled for Saturday February 20 between 6 and 9PM.

Jenn, Jennifer Carnivele in real life, is known for her online comic "Simply Panda Jenn," and for her artwork, which one can find on her Fur Affinity and Deviant Art pages.

SL Video: "Exploring the Halloween Haunt In Second Life"

 

 From Panda Jenn on October 16, "I explored the Happy Vixen's 'Halloween Haunt' for the first time. Credit goes to Jasmine Dawn for creating this spooktastic experience, and to the owner of the Happy Vixen, Nydia Tungsten. The club is also managed by Snowbuns (Skylark Lefavre) and Bixyl, who has written a rather informative article on this long-standing tradition (here).

"Panda Jenn's Pad" Over Bellesseria Island

In just a matter of months, the new continent of Bellesseria and it's surrounding islands have become home to quite a community of residents. A new club just opened there, "Panda Jenn's Pad."

Panda Jenn (PandaJenn0 Resident) was the lady who set up the club, "It's a hang out for furs and such," she told me, "It's a small place, but it's meant to be a cozy hang out area." The place itself is mainly a dance floor, with some of Panda's artwork on the wall. The radio stream plays All Fur Radio twenty-four hours a day, so people can come any time to listen to music. There's also a pool table for a game.

We still have some things to add and move around. For the most part, it's ready to go." Panda doesn't own the land itself, "My friend Logan has property there. The Pad is just above it."

Panda is somewhat new to Second Life, though she's been an artist for some time. She has an online comic, "Simply Panda Jenn," that updates about twice a month. She also has artwork on Fur Affinity and Deviant Art.
