It Came From Bellisseria Chat: "A Night Out"

From Traci Quandry-Marabana (Traci Quandry), who posted this Flickr image of her and her raccoon minions at the Chalet region hangout "The Drunken Mouse," "A Night Out" on Bellisseria chat, "Last time I take them anywhere." We'll see if that's the case with her band of raccoons, who can be just as cute and persuasive as they are mischievous.

Club Squeaks

Are you looking for a club to listen to good music and chat with good people, but you're unable to get on Second Life during the times most clubs have their parties? Or perhaps you have the day off, and are looking to spend the time dancing to some tunes in the late morning. Then you may want to check out a small but promising new club: Club Squeaks, by Brandi Streusel.

Panda Jenn's Pad, Rebooted

Remember Panda Jenn's Pad, which was written about last year? Sadly, it was taken down after the owner of the land left Second Life. But Panda Jenn (PandaJenn0 Resident) recently told me the venue is back. This time, it's high over the Zeta Valley sim.

Like before, it's meant to be a comfortable hangout. As when it was first around, one can listen to the music, as well as dance away to it with a friend, or with one or two bot dancers who are sometimes there. But there have been some video games added. One can also order a drink from Deadpool at the bar. And there's the artwork of Jenn's. She's added many more of her pictures.

Jenn also told me a special party is being planned for the 20th anniversary of the character Panda Jenn. It's scheduled for Saturday February 20 between 6 and 9PM.

Jenn, Jennifer Carnivele in real life, is known for her online comic "Simply Panda Jenn," and for her artwork, which one can find on her Fur Affinity and Deviant Art pages.

Cooper's Coffeehouse

For those looking for a place to relax in Second Life, among the locations one can go to is Cooper's Coffeehouse. Located in Lionheart Nala, it's recently gotten a major overhaul. There, one can play games, read books, listen to an occasional live event, and of course meet others. The Newser recently met up with the owner, Cooper Udimom, and he talked some about the place.

"Panda Jenn's Pad" Over Bellesseria Island

In just a matter of months, the new continent of Bellesseria and it's surrounding islands have become home to quite a community of residents. A new club just opened there, "Panda Jenn's Pad."

Panda Jenn (PandaJenn0 Resident) was the lady who set up the club, "It's a hang out for furs and such," she told me, "It's a small place, but it's meant to be a cozy hang out area." The place itself is mainly a dance floor, with some of Panda's artwork on the wall. The radio stream plays All Fur Radio twenty-four hours a day, so people can come any time to listen to music. There's also a pool table for a game.

We still have some things to add and move around. For the most part, it's ready to go." Panda doesn't own the land itself, "My friend Logan has property there. The Pad is just above it."

Panda is somewhat new to Second Life, though she's been an artist for some time. She has an online comic, "Simply Panda Jenn," that updates about twice a month. She also has artwork on Fur Affinity and Deviant Art.

Rebel Yell

Gemma Cleanslate is back from exploring Second Life. Her latest article is about a new sim called Rebel Yell. If the name sounds familiar, they're a tribute group that has entertained residents for years. Now, they have a lasting place on the Grid. Gemma took a look around, and had a few things to say about the hangout.

Zeta Valley Beach Wharf Club

Geerkil Ziskey has DJed in a number of places, such as at the Happy Vixen and Club Zero Gravity. But lately, he's been wanting to put some new life into where he started out performing music: Zeta Valley. Recently, he and the rest of the Dragon Crew have rebuilt a club in the area, renaming it the Zeta Valley Beach Wharf Club, hoping to attract numbers of people to the sim.

Sunweaver Oasis Beach Hangout

It's been a little over a month since Sunwater Three joined the Sunweaver lands. The island soon had some builds placed on it, though the west end remained bare. That changed on Wednesday November 1 with the announcement that a "club" had been set up there by Rita Mariner. Or rather, it's a hangout for folks as there are several venues in the Sunweaver Estates offering events, and so none are planned here.

Just a Hangout for the Sunnys and Angels, come discover the Hangout provided by our Bunny Cheiftess, we're here right now just to test it out, you are all welcome to come and check out the club and sim.

The announcement was followed by a few people, including myself dropping by to check it out, with DJ Ifrit dropping by for a short time to play a little music.

The Sunweaver Oasis Beach Hangout is located at SunWaterThree (54, 37, 27).

New Sunweaver Sim: SunWaterOne

Earlier this month, the Sunweaver Estates got itself a new sim. Yesterday, August 17, Rita Mariner announced the arrival of SunWaterOne.

Sunnies:  we have a new Homestead to play on.  SunWaterOne, located east of Sunweaver Bay. South of HV.  It's there, even if it hasn't shown up on map yet.  Mostly water, so perfect for boating and flying.  It is available for rent, with conditions.

East of Sunweaver Bay and south of HV Community, the sim is all water aside from an island with a beach hangout places there for people wanting to relax under the palm trees. The building is the same one used at Sunny Beach for a time a few years ago, and was used for two of Nydia Tungsten's videos, "Margaritaville" and "Wipeout."

Meanwhile, the island in the new sim of Sunweaver Eclipse has been built up a little. Work has been done on Pacific Waters and Sunlight Bay. The Farshore Field Airport is still under construction, and Pacific Waters has a "float-in" theater one can ride their boat over and watch.

Serenity Woods and Club Planet Serenity

Grease Coakes recently got a new DJ gig at a place called Club Planet Serenity. The club has something of a sci-fi feel with it's bright colors and the dance floor split into hexagons that light up when you step on them. The sim has more than just the club, there's also a community called Serenity Woods.

Luskwood's Thirteenth Anniversary Event on October 22

One of Second Life's oldest communities will soon be celebrating it's anniversary: number thirteen. Scheduled for Saturday October 22, the event will be combined along with the fifth anniversary celebrations of it's sister community Trotsdale. As it's near the end of October, the event will take on something of a Halloween theme. So far, Keeba Tammas and the "Tiny Maniacs" and Shannon O'herlihy have signed up to be among the performers.

Stay tuned for more information on the Luskwood blog.

The Gathering Oak

Becky Shamen reports on something new in the Sunny Beach sim. Several weeks ago, the "watering hole" or "gathering place" had a beach club built over it. But recently the owner, Erik Mouse, began wondering if something different was needed. So Becky decided to help out by getting and planting an oak at the spot. Here, she writes about "The Gathering Oak" and what it could be.

"Feel the Bern" Bernie Sanders Themed Location

The US Presidential election continues to make news in real life, with Donald Trump all but having won the nomination for the Republicans. For the Democrats, the race between the two candidates continues, with Bernie Sanders having a following in Second Life. Recently, I stopped by the "Feel the Bern" hangout in the Young sim, built by Addie Tozz. She talked some about the spot and her plans.

Antaris Gothly’s New Treehouse

Grease Coakes recently dropped by a friend of his, Antaris Gothly. She had recently built a new hangout, a treehouse. Antaris wanted something different from the hustle and bustle of music clubs, but a place where people could relax and engage in artistic expression, or just talk. And unlike a certain place Grease recently wrote on, all are welcome regardless of appearance.

Dropping By Luskwood

I took a little time this week to stop by my first hangout of Luskwood. With all this greenery, it's quite a change from earlier days. While there, I ran into a few old friends such as Treminari Huet, Ardy Lay. Founder Michi Lumin was also there. If the skunkgirl with a reputation for being a workaholic wasn't busy enough, it turns out she owns one of the pony sims: Trotsdale.

Hopefully the busy girl doesn't end up with too much.

The “Happy Vixen’s” Grand Re-Opening

As far as clubs in the FCA club alliance go, "The Happy Vixen" beach club tends to be overshadowed by Club Zero Gravity, often seen as a extenstion of the space club. Following the closing of another beach club, owner Nydia Tungsten decided it was time for the little place to expand.
