Shadowfell

Gemma Cleanslate's search for Halloween places just took her to a favorite region: Calas Galadjon Park, where Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith have built a Halloween area: Shadowfell. She went over to take a see. So what spooky sights did she find?

Valentine's Day

Taken at Calas Galadhon Park

It's Valentines Day (or happy stick it to singles day depending on your point of view), the day in which couples give one another small tokens of their affection, or find other ways to demonstrate it to one another. The Shop and Hop is open for those looking to get a present for someone. Or you can take your virtual honey to a romantic spot to cuddle, or perhaps a themed event to dance to. And there's also the "Hug A Linden/Dunk A Linden" today at the Isle of View.

Happy V-Day for couples and singles (you can still get lucky, find a nice new friend of the opposite sex, or both).

Calas Galadhon Park - Christmas 2022

Dancerina Starlight was recently at Calas Galadhon Park. The sim changes it's appearance every season, and winter has recently come to the area. Dencerina found quite a winter wonderland, and when writing about the region had much to say.

Halloween At Calas and Cica Ghost's Epsilon

With Halloween being such a big part of October, it doesn't take too long to find Halloween-themed places. Gemma Cleanslate decided to check two out. One was a favorite location that had renovated itself for the occasion: Calas Gladhorn. Another was Epsilon, where SL artist Cica Ghost had her work on display. So what did she think?

New Santorini

One group of sims the Newser keeps writing about year after year is Calas Galadhon Park. The sims are always well-designed, and there's something new every few months. Sadly, in the past a few of the sims had to be shut down due to real-life finances. But recently came some good news. One of the lost sims, the Greek-themed New Santorini, is back. Gemma Cleanslate went there to look around.

Calas Christmas Pavilion 2018

A few days ago, Deaflegacy wrote about a trip to Calas Galadhon Park where she had a ride on it's balloon. Since there was more to the place, she went back to look at it's Christmas Pavilion. She found the place quite nice. But there was more to the area, such as the nearby skating pond and the winter scenery.

The Calas Galadhon Haunted Maze

Gemma Cleanslate's travels took her back to a favorite location, Calas Galadhon Park. The owners Ty Tenk and Truck Meredith often have something new and interesting for Halloween. Last year, they had a sci-fi horror exhibit. This year, they have a maze to try and get through. Unfortunately, navigating the passages is just one of the challenges. You also have to fight all sorts of monsters trying to eat you.

Calas Skate-O-Rama

Gemma Cleanslate is back from a trip to a favorite destination: Calas Galadhon Park. Every season, the area gets something new, and this month is no exception. Ty Tenk and Truck Meredith's latest creation: the Calas Skate-O-Rama. A delightful look back into the 1950s, the place is a large open-air roller skating rink with a drive-in diner on the side. The place opened last weekend to a large party with live music. The location will be open until the end of March.

Calas Galadhon's Wine Bar and Gallery

Last week, the Newser published a reader submitted article on Calas Galadhon's Glanduin sim. As it turned out, there was more about the Park that was new. There was a new wine bar, as well as an art gallery with works by Hamish Blakely and Paul Van Ginkel. Gemma Cleanslate went to check them out.

Reader Submitted: A Little Treasure, Calas Galadhon Park's Glanduin

One location the Newser goes back to cover time to time is Calas Galadhon Park. Created by Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith, the park offers several sims of detailed scenery that is not static but regularly changed so it's not the same place for too long. Today's article about the location was made not by one of our staff, but from a reader: Alysabelle. In her reader submission, she describes the latest look of the Glanduin sim, that of a country farmhouse in the countryside.

Winter Holiday Village and Calas Galadhon Park

While looking around for Christmas places in Second Life, Gemma Cleanslate checked back on two she had looked over in the past. One is Winter Holiday Village, which has been on the Grid for eight seasons, but this year has something new. Also getting a mention is Calas Galadhon Park, which changes every season, and once again gets it's winter look.

Noel at Calas

Earlier this week, we reported about the Calas Galadhon Park area's winter look for this season. One area that had yet to be revealed was it's special Christmas sim. Gemma Cleanslate came back to give it a visit, and was delighted with what she found.

Winter at Calas Galadhon Park

December is here, and with it the winter season. Already, a number of sims in Second Life which are normally green are turning white as they're coated with a blanket of snow, and the water covered with ice. Gemma Cleanslate takes a look at one favorite scenic place: Calas Galadhon Park. In the past, it's had some fine builds that offered winter fun with both activities and scenery. This season, builders Ty Tenk and Truck Meredith have done it again.

Darkwood

One of Gemma Cleanslate's favorite places to explore is the Calas sims, which change from season to season. For October, there's something a little different this time. There's a Halloweenish display somewhat based on the dark side of Middle Earth in "The Hobbit," “We took a few liberties …  some could say more than a few."

A Wintery Favorite: Calas Galadhon Park

Gemma Cleanslate has reported on a number of Winter and Christmas-themed places in Second Life this week. And as the weekend approaches, she's saved the best for last. The eleven sim Calas Galadhon Park area now has a snowy look for the holidays, and many activities and places for good frosty fun. One can skate and ski across multiple sims. One can go riding on horseback. One can warm themselves at one of the cabin fireplaces. And one can head to the Pavillion for some Christmas goodies.
