This week in Second Life, we have a variety of events from live music to DJ dance parties, to readings, to game and talk shows, and more. And for those participating in the Relay for Life, This is it!! This weekend is The Walk, the highlight of the Relay for Life fundraisng season.
July 4rth is gone, but there's still plenty of events in Second Life to see. "The 1st Question" returns to the Grid with it's new season. A new club, "The Happy Vixen," has opened. And in Mystery this Sunday is the event of the year: the Royal Wedding of Princess Amythe Moonlight and Bloodrose Writer.
The Second Life Eighth Birthday is gone, but the exhibits are still up until July 2. For those who want an event with plenty of people, there's still plenty to do around the Grid with it's usual dances, live music, and game shows. But on Tuesday is the special "Arabian Nights" Relay for Life event. Plus next week the Fourth of July and it's parties, including the Guardians For Life Beach Party.
This week, Second Life officially celebrates it's eighth anniversary. Twenty sims packed with exhibits, and events. But for those who want a break from the hustle & bustle (ie lag), there's plenty else to see.

It's a week full of events as the month of May ends and June arrives. And with it the Summer. We have a list of club events, talk and game shows, live music. And of course the one year anniversary of Second Life Newser, which will be having a celebration all are invited to.It's an event-filled time this week on the Grid. Next Monday the 23rd, Book Island will be having a "huge launch party" for the book "Notes from an Alien." Before that, the Mystery sim will be celebrating it's fifth anniversary with special music events throughout the week. And we have our usual variety of talk & game shows and book readings.
Mystery, the Romance sim, is closed this week for rennovations. But there are still plenty of other events on the grid from dance parties, to talk and game shows, to poetry and fiction readings, and more. April comes to an end this week, early spring moving on to later spring. And with this week come the events, from talk shows to dance parties, and more.
This week in Second Life, stop by Regent's Park in the Mephilo Tor sim this weekend for St. George's Day and have some good English fun in honor of the country's patron saint. Besides this medieval fair, there are numerous dance parties, book and poetry readings, and talk shows.It's the middle of April. Not quite Easter time, but still plenty to do. From dance clubs, to book readings, to game and talk shows, there's something to go to every day.
March is behind us, and we spring into April. Among the events this week is the Fantasy Faire, a weeklong Relay for Life event in which content creators sell items for charity, with an emphasis on the fantasy genere. But this is far from the only event. There are the usual dance parties, book & poetry readings, and talk shows across the Grid.
March turns to April this week, and the events keep on coming. Tonight Live is back after a break. There are a few new events at Book Island, a club reopened, SpiritValley, and there is the Relay for Life 2011 Fantasy Faire.
Nydia Tungsten recently met up with me with some news, “some big changes are coming. It is well known that Illusions is our sister club. Well, we are now teaming up with SpiritValley to help revive SL's oldest furry dance club ... Club Fur. So the four clubs are going to be working together. From what I have been told, it is Second Life's first furry club.” Nydia went on to say, “the four clubs are going to be working together.”
Alynna was told by the previous owners the club was built in 2004, which makes it one of the oldest clubs in Second Life regardless of genre. Club Fur’s wiki (started in 2005), states that it’s form “was partially inspired by the work of Frank Lloyd Wright,” at one time sitting over an ocean, much of the floor was made of glass plate so people could see under the water. The wiki describes an interesting history, supposedly at one point rescued from an old home "two minutes before they leveled the place." Before Alynna, it sat in Furnation Prime. She described it as not being used very much. When Furnation Prime closed, she was given the club, where it was moved to Kitsuhana, a sim of the Sunweaver Estates.
Late Saturday night, Nydia had a “pre-opening” party for a few friends of her and Alynna. The club had its first. On Sunday night was the “Rock Out” party, in which the club was officially open.
