EA's Star Wars Battlefront II's "Lootboxes" Stir Controversy, Calls For Government Regulation

It used to be if we paid money to play a game, whether all at once for a console game or monthly for an MMO, that was it. If a game was free to play, that the makers would offer a few items to make gameplay easier for a few bucks was accepted. So what happens when a game noted for it's multiplayer mode with player versus player combat, which you have to pay sixty to eighty dollars to play to begin with, starts offering people the chance to buy the loot boxes needed to advance? A lot of controversy, comparisons to online gambling, and talk of the government getting involved.

Art India for Charity

This is a reminder that bidding and buying some wonderful art pieces for the benefit of SOS Children Village gives orphaned children in India a place to live  rather than on the streets. There are pieces by Ard Schwartzman, Betty Tureaud, Bryn Oh, Eliza Wierwight, Eupalinos Ugajin, fiona Blaylock, Giovanna Cerise, Haveit Neox, Igor Ballyhoo, Josiane Sorciere, Kicca Igaly, Linus Humphreys,Lorin Tone, Melusina Parkin, Pallina60 Loon, Pol Jarvinen, Rebeca Bashly, SaveMe Oh, Secret Rage, Shari Davies Rose Borchovski, Trill Zapatero and Ub Yifu. 

The auction will end on December 23, so try to get there before then. It is set as a skating area where you can skate from item to item and pick up information on each piece. Quan Lavender sent a reminder and I am sorry to say I did not get here until Thursday. However the sale will continue until January 22, so you will have a chance to purchase the remarkable pieces.

Press Release: Art India Gallery's Music Box for Children

After the succesful Art of Protest contest at the Art India Gallery presents now an exhibtion that fits to the Christmas time. It is an auction and sale in favor of SOS Children India. Gallery owner Veekay Navarathna will donate the raised funds without any loss of transactions directly in India.

Thanks to Trill Zapatero the exhibtion turned to a beautiful, dreamy landscape which invites to skate. You find free skaters at the landing spot and can use them to explore the huge exhibtion. 25 artists contributed partly more than one work. We are a little bit proud of the list of contributing artists:

Almost all works are no copy/ trans to have the music boxes available as gifts. The variety of ideas and styles is amazing: From classic to modern, from poetic to funny. The majority of music boxes are on sale with prices starting from 10 to 1.000 Linden.

Some of the works are on auction, which runs until Dec. 22nd, to have them for Christmas. The entire exhibition runs until Jan. 22nd.
