Sunweaver Bay's Game Room

A lot's been happening across Second Life lately between the Relay and the SL20B. So it's easy to miss everything else. So I decided to check my local community a bit. In Sunweaver Bay, I noticed someone had set up a new farm. This included cows, and every fox's favorite: chicken.

But the more interesting new place was by Sunweaver BrianL61 Landar: a new amusement park he named "The Game Room."

Welcome to The Game Room,  all games are free to play and sorry,  there are NO PAYOUTS,  please have fun, and bring a friend.  from here you can use the teleporter in front of the game room to access other areas on this land, feel free to explore.  there is also a shuttle station which will take you too View Point Space Station.     BrianL61 Landar

There's plenty of games there, from old ones that were at previous amusement areas to some new ones I haven't seen before, from a disk-tossing target game to the "Madfall" tower that takes you high above the park then sends you plummeting down, to the "Pharoah's Folly" ride. And overlooking it all, in time for the Fourth of July, a Statue of Liberty shooting fireworks.

And of course don't forget the sim's main attraction, Club Cutlass and it's Wednesday-Frida-Saturday events from 6 to 8PM Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757).

Reader Submitted: Digital Farm System

Outside Second Life, a number of simulation games have popped up, including farming games. Inside Second Life is one such simulation game: Digital Farm Systems. There's more to the game than just farming. One can make the ingredients into food and other products, and if you don't want to grow everything involved, you can buy from other residents who have what you need. Serenity Herold (SerenKitty Resident) sent the Newser a reader submitted article about the simulation in which not only do you see your efforts in the virtual earth blossom, you could potentially make a little money.

Reader Submitted: Game Review - Farm Simulator 17

Farming is one of the oldest occupations, and the one that allowed the development of civilization. Once, most people were farmers. Today in developed countries, only a handful of the people are needed to grow everyone's food. While farming's a small part of many games, there have been a few in which it's the main point. "Farm Simulator 17" by Astragon Entertainment and Excalibur Publishing is the second most recent of a series of games of the name that over time have sold more than fifteen million combined. Among those playing it is Rita Mariner. She recently sent the Newser a story about the game and how to play it.

Back to Minecraft Part 2

Earlier in April, we reported on the continued activity in the Angels Village Minecraft server. Since then, the activity hasn't stopped but continued, such as the finishing of a long-distance tunnel. So here's a progress report on the digs in Nydia Tungsten's Minecraft realm.

Review of World of Warcraft's "Mists of Pandaria," Part Two

Last week, we had the first half of our review of the latest expansion of World of Warcraft, "Mists of Pandaria," in which we described the new player race and continent. Today, we look at other features in the game, such as the new Pet Battle System. We also look at the response the expansion is getting and how well it's been doing for Blizzard in it's first few days.
