Another great year has gone by and it’s hard to believe it’s now our 16 year Club Lion Anniversary.
The theme for this Year Party will be "Universe". All Creatures/Aliens are Welcome!!! BIG Thanks to all our DJs & Performers in advance for participating in our celebration. Thru the 16 Years exist of Club Lion we had over 240 Livesingers at our Stage. In Second Life People comes and goes..in this or a other way - some left us forever, some just SL. Even it was now and then a fight - i appreciate all of who came along, and also that some left ;). This year’s party will be fantastic - with an amazing line-up of Ds and live performers. Hold onto your seats because this Mega Event will go on for 2 days from 9 am SLT to 6 pm SLT each day.

Relaystock This Weekend, Scifi Con Begins

On Friday May 15, the Relaystock started in the Relaystock2020 sim, north of the American Cancer Society sim. Many teams, including the Sunbeamers, have camps there. There are also numerous DJs having events on stage, plus two live musicians.

Survivors of Suicide Christmas Fair

The Survivors of Suicide, the largest depression support group in Second Life, his holding it's Christmas Fair.

December is upon us once more, and with it comes the 11th anniversary of SOS, and our annual Christmas Fair. This year we have more stores, more entertainment, and more activities for everyone, young, old, tall, small, and everyone in between!

So we invite you all to come join us at our annual Christmas Fair once more! This year we have a whopping 46 stores taking part, all selling their wonderful wares and donating parts of the proceeds to Survivors of Suicide. We also have a lot of varied entertainment from DJ's and Dance Troupes to Conceptual Artists and Live Singers. We also have a Photo Contest in conjunction with Focus Magazine, as well as Santa's workshop where you will be able to meet both Santa and Special Guest Elves, and we promise you won't leave empty handed!

And if the stress of Christmas preparations becomes too much, or if you are feeling the Holiday Blues, we will have SOS Mentors and Members at the Christmas Fair throughout December, and we have even dedicated a nice relaxing spot around a bonfire where you can sit and let the world melt away in friendly company.

Veterans Isle Concert Raises 128,000 Lindens

On Sunday March 31, Veterans Isle held it's monthly fundraising concert. Several live musicians and one DJ performed for the crowd for the event that went from 11AM to 4PM SL time (2 - 7PM EST). The money raised goes to the Homes For Our Troops charity, which helps wounded veterans keep a roof over their head. The events are organized by guitarist Frets Nirvana

As the musicians played on, people donated money to two house-shaped kiosks on either side of the stage. I dropped by as Melenda got off the stage, and the singer Wolfie (WolfStarFire Resident) got on. The lady whipped up the crowd, living up to her name as she howled into the microphone, and getting some in the audience to howl themselves. She reminded everyone that Frets had pledged to donate some of his own money for every so much raised, and challenged her listeners to have him leave with a much lighter wallet. About forty minutes into her set, the event had raised a total of 100,000 Linden dollars.

The event would go on to raise a total of 128,000 Linden dollars.

While Veterans Isle usually holds it's concerts on the last weekend of every month, next month has Memorial Day weekend. So it may be the weekend before.

Press Release: Live Bennefit Concert at Veterans isle

Frets Nirvana and US Military Veterans Group announce 2019’s February for Homes For Our Troops in Second Life! 

Frets Nirvana, the premier guitar artist in the virtual world Second Life and the US Military Veterans Group announce the 2019 March  benefit in Second Life for the Veterans Support Organization  Home For Our Troops . 

Frets Nirvana states:  “HFOT is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of these Veterans are multiple amputees, paraplegic, quadriplegic or suffered severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).  Since its inception in 2004, over 90 cents of every dollar spent by Homes for Our Troop has gone to directly support Veterans. DURING THAT TIME HFOT HAS BUILT OVER 274 SPECIALLY ADAPTED HOMES NATIONWIDE FOR WOUNDED VETERANS.”

In 2018 the community in Second Life sent over $13,000 to Homes For Our Troops, thanks to may kind hearts and great Second Life performers.  HFOT built 34 homes for extremely wounded veterans in 2018.  We hope to help them exceed that in 2019!

Home for Our Troops benefit concerts feature premier Second Life talent monthly at Veteran’s Isle.  The concert on March 31, 2019 is scheduled from 11 AM to 4 PM PST.  Featured artists will be DJ Waya Snowpaw, Erin and Satin, Melenda Baptiste, Wolfie Starfire and Mavenn.

Scenes From The Christmas Expo

Friday November 30 was the start of the Christmas Expo. And the event has been full of activities. Besides discussions in which the RFL Committee heads gave some words of encouragement, there were live music performances.

Saturday had musicians such as Maximillion Kleen, and Keeba Tamas and the Tiny Maniacs.

Sunday had more, such as Austin Moores. The events will continue across the week.

And with six sims, there's much to see. Among them, several homes with their yards festively decorated with lights that shone brightly at dark.

Announcement: Relaystock May 4-6

The Relay Rockers are pleased to announce they will once again sponsor RelayStock on May 4, 5 and 6th.

RelayStock is a multi-team fun weekend set on a full region.

 Entertainment is provided by The Rockers and teams are invited to host their own times on the main stage. This year’s plans includes live performers and DJs.
