Reader Submitted: "Bixyl The Newshound Fox"

By Masane Amaha  (Masane Bloodrose), using Suno

(To the tune of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer")

(Intro) You know Cronkite and Brokaw and Cooper and Blitzer, Reporters who love to drink coffee and spritzer. But do you recall... The most famous news fox of all?

(Verse 1) Bixyl Shuftan the News Fox, Has a nose for sniffing news. And if you ever see him, He’s hunting for the interviews.

(Verse 2) All of the other avatars, Wonder where he’s gonna go. They know that clever Bixyl, Is always in the festive show.

(Bridge) Then one foggy Christmas Eve, The Editor came to say: "Bixyl with your nose so bright, Go sniff out a scoop tonight!"

(Verse 3) Then how the readers loved him, As they shouted out with glee: "Bixyl Shuftan the News Fox, You'll go down in history!"

(Outro) He's sniffing out the news... Yeah, he's sniffing out the news! (Cha-cha-cha)

Cartoon of The Day: Too Much Xmas Cheer?

Taken at "Muddy's." While there, one of the dancers was all decked out for Christmas. My mind turned to the jokes about stores playing certain music way too soon and too often.

A Song For The Relay, "We Are Here"

There's no arguing that DJing takes some time, effort, and skill. But it's something else to be able to write an actual song. Mattie Carlton (Mattie Foxpaws)  recently came up with one in honor of a friend who had recently passed away from cancer. She is not keeping it for herself, but is free for everyone to use, especially for Relay events. She recently told the Newser a little about the song, and how it came to be.

Read the story in Design.

"Have Yourself A Pixelated Christmas"

Have yourself a pixelated Christmas...
may your screens be light...
From now on our dramas will be out of sight...
Have yourself a pixelated Christmas...
Whether straight or gay...
may your friends TP in from sims away....
Here we are as in olden days...
shopping marketplace's stores...
Faithful friends who are dear to us....
TP near to us, once more...
Through the years we'll all log on together...
if the net allows...
Hang a star-shaped prim upon the highest bough....
and have yourself a merry SL Christmas... now.

"Don't Worry, Be Fishy"

This was sung in the "Safe Waters Foundation" mermaid group.

Here's a little song I wail
You might want to sing it scale for scale
Don't worry be fishy
In ocean life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
Don't worry be fishy
Don't worry be fishy now

Ain't got no place to lay your head SL came and took your bed
Don't worry be fishy
The landlord say your rent is late he may have to friggin wait
Don't worry
Ha-ha ha-ha ha-ha
Be fishy
Look at me I'm fishy

SL Parody Song: "Mesh Heads"

Shockwave Yareach is noted for two things in Second Life. One is his great builds. Another is his sense of humor, which has led him to compose and sing a number of parody songs. A few have made it as music videos. Among those that hasn't is the Second Life-themed song "Mesh Heads," a parody of "Fish Heads."

Mesh Heads. Mesh Heads.
Multi Poly Mesh heads.
Mesh Heads. Mesh heads.
Clean them up some!

Went to Luskwood
everyone was Jelly.
No they were not Jealous -
they'd all become grapes.

How can one head
have a million faces?
Even a diamond's
not that bad.

My new avatar;
supposed to look the greatest.
It should load in about
a day or so.

Thousands per face!
Double for a sweater!
We don't need great detail
of your gums!

Mulity Poly Mesh heads are usually seen in virtual restaurants impersonating oriental women
... or cats.

Dusk and Friends "Try Everything" At Cutlass

During the "Toontown" party last Saturday at Club Cutlass, Dusk Griswold and a couple friends decided to do an impression of Gazelle and her dance troupe in the "Try Everything" song from "Zootopia." Looks like the three aren't afraid to do just that. ;-)

SL Video: "Not Quite Human"

(Click here to see the video)

From Nydia Tungsten on April 18, "This was inspired by "Dream Song" you can find her talent here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GsAH..."

This video is a departure from Nydia's typically happy and fun fare. Humankind no doubt has much to be proud of. Alone among the animals can groups of them change the land as they see fit, to farm the land and store or trade food so lean times do not mean starvation, to understand the universe around them, even to fly and (temporarily) leave the planet. And he has more than intelligence. He is one of the few animals that can see in color, and has among the lowest rates of infanticide of animals.

But ...

The road to modern humans was a bumpy, sometimes perilous one, that involved climate change that turned the land of his ancestors to dry dust, that at one point shrank his numbers to what today would be considered an endangered species. Mankind did survive, but did it come at a cost? While we've become smart enough to cooperate to survive, we've also become ruthless enough to destroy other tribes that we see as being in our way, holding grudges that last for generations, centuries, even millennia.

There are those whom see the ability of humans to get along as having limits that are just too hard-wired to overcome, that we will forever be a species divided among it's tribes that at best can get along only when there's a common enemy, and once again bicker and fight once that enemy has been defeated. And then there are those who say "No," that time again time again, Man has risen past such hate even even there is no advantage, and even disadvantage, to do so, that our future is not one of eternal warfare but of overcoming our differences and channeling our aggression to less destructive activities such as sports.

So who is correct? How do you define what it is to be human?
