Today, we grieve one of our own at Builders Brewery. I am sorry to announce the passing of our very dear friend, Williambeauclerc. Known and loved by so many as BB's Show and Tell host, teacher, script guru, moderator, mentor and the calm in all our storms...

He passed away from complications un-related to COVID19. He knew this may be coming, yet he faced it  with amazing bravery and acceptance, just like how he handled all of us in our moments of chaos ... always

Press Release: Relay For Life Comes to the Builder's Brewery

One of Secondlife’s oldest groups is getting a brand new Relay for Life team.  This year Blue Myanamotu has agreed to take on being a team captain so that the Brewery can have a team of their own.  At her side is co-captain Natalya Lore (freudianslipped Resident).   They got their start collaborating with the Builder’s Brewery last year at the Relay for Life Art Auction.  The event was quite a hit and raised nearly 50,000 Lindens.  The team can’t wait to share more fun events with the grid that will not only be a blast, but will also raise funds for a great cause!

This year they plan to hold another art auction in May, along with many other events including a Slurbage tournament in March, a Gacha Festival in April and a Grid-Wide Hunt in June. 
They are currently looking for creators to donate Gacha sets for the festival in April.

VMA Spring Build-Off Winners Announced

Grey Lupindo stopped by the Builders Brewery to check up on the Virtual Museum of Architecture's latest competition: the Spring Build-Off. This event was different than most other VMA competitions, and was concluded with an awards party.

Laura Liberty’s Valentine Town

Valentine's Day is almost here. And that means getting some gifts for a loved one, or perhaps just walking around in a place with a romantic atmosphere. DrFran Babcock found one such place at Builder's Brewery: Valentine Town. There, one can get some candy & flowers, or a card, or just browse around the sights where love truly is in the air.

Virtual Museum of Architecture Closing It's Sim

The Virtual Museum of Architecture, once known as the Frank Lloyd Wright Virtual Museum, will be closing it's sim tomorrow, Wednesday October 31st. But this will not mean the end of the VMA as an orginization. Grey Lupindo attended the location's last party on Saturday Oct 27th. Grey took a final tour of the place, and talked to some of the people of the VMA about its future in Second Life.

Builders Brewery Recovering from Mass Ejection

Last month, the popular Builder's Brewery group found almost all of it's members ejected. On October 19th, their membership plummeted from almost 17,000 members, to just 400.

We're not exactly sure what exactly caused it, and we are not going to point fingers, as that would be useless. But it seemed to have started during Linden Lab's critical server software upgrade that day, along with rolling restarts that came with no warning countdown even. There was tremendous issues across the grid, including inability to log in, no teleporting, groups and friends not loading, overwhelming lag even in an empty full sim (causing us to cancel at least two classes that day). Our two sims were greatly affected during this time, which apparently and sadly, "may" have caused our group bot to get stuck in constant eject mode. We may never know the exact reason, but it was a combination that created the "perfect storm" where everything all comes together at the wrong time. Steps have been taken to prevent this tragedy from ever happening again.

A few weeks later, the group still hasn't recovered from the crash, still only a fraction of their onetime numbers, and has continued to get the word out for people to rejoin, "copy and paste the following link in your local chat window to pull up the group join window -
secondlife:///app/group/04f595b0-cdc8-97f0-e710-9564824c03b2/about/ ... We want to thank everyone for your incredible outpouring of support and love we have received during this time. We hope to recover from this loss swiftly with your help and patience."

Virtual Museum of Architecture - Fall Build-Off

The Virtual Museum of Architecture recently had it's Fall "Build-Off." Those entering had two days to finish their builds, to be done in the Art Deco theme. And the results were very impressive in both quality and variety. Grey Lupindo dropped in to take a look at the contest, and hear the winners.
