Death Picks a Winner

Gemma Cleanslate recently took a trip to New Toulouse, which is best known for it's annual Mardi Gras Parade and it's historic-themed RP community, but recently put in some thing new. Until Sunday May 30, they will be having the game "Death Picks a Winner." Created by Nikita Weyman, in the game a promising candidate for mayor has been murdered, and it's up to you to follow the clues to find out the culprit. Can you solve this whodunit?

Bryn Oh's "Anna's Many Murders" to Close

Bryn Oh announced on her blog that her exhibit "Anna's Many Murders" will be closing this month. The exhibition has been on Amase Levasseur's Orginalia sim.


Six months ago Amase offered her region Originalia to host my build Anna's Many Murders and I greatly appreciate her generosity. Sadly the time has come for Anna's to be removed, but new artists will take over the space, so that in itself is something to cheer about. Anna's Many Murders will remain up until the 28th of September so there is still time to see it again or perhaps for the first time.


Bryn Oh's exhibit is the story of "a not so stable person, who sees the dehumanization of those around her and copes in her own way." Besides being on video, it's also in book form.

Until it closes, the exhibition can be seen at Originalia (58, 221, 108).

Railroad Fans Celebrate at Bay City

Last Saturday April 7th was a "Taste of Bay City" event held by the Virtual Railway Consortium, inviting, "all citizens of Bay City and rail & transit enthusiasts across the Grid." The theme of the dance was "Filming of the 'Murder on the Bay City Express,' (sorry machinima fans, no evidence there really was a filming)," with Callipygian Christensen as the DJ. Geo Meek was also there filming the event for SL TV. The dance lasted from about 1PM to after 3PM SL time, and there were boxes of railroad cars and track up for free for whomever wanted them.

There was a lot of funning around during the party, with people making joke accusations of who the murder was. I heard a few times that this event was to celebrate the SLRR's connection to Bay City, though they've been in town since May 2011. Someone commented that she heard Linden Lab had special plans for Bay City now that their work on the Wilderness is done, but she had no idea what they were.

Bryn Oh's "Anna's Many Murders"

Anna was an enigma to me on my first visit, so I went back several times. Anna is a creation of the SL and RL artist, Bryn Oh, who imagines and dreams many, many things.

Her book about Anna will lead you through fields of grasses, to a dark house where you will begin a journey to see what Anna is all about. Bryn offers you a notecard to help you find the lighting that is most effective for the viewing along the way. Take the time to adjust the settings . It is worth it. The way is not an easy one so be careful as you open doors to pass to the next page, or whatever you may see. Look at everything or you may miss some things as I did on my first visit.

Bryn was greeting people as they arrived at the house. After I finished the trail I wondered how she got this idea . She told me that once on a subway all was silent in the car and as she looked around at all the people, each was either on a phone, a blackberry, or some such instrument. Then she saw them all with attachments to their human body.

“So this story is about people adding to their own body until they are no longer human in a way,” She told me, you will see Anna adding things to people, opening them up and adding a leaf or something she thinks of as nature.” But, as you will see, Anna is also losing something of herself, her mind.

This was a creation that Bryn made to rest from the emotional completion of the Rabbicorn stories. I found it to be not as relaxing as she did, but she said “I like blue humour.”

Visit and follow the story along to the watery end. I plan to visit one more time at least.

Women of Juarez Speak in SL

Seeing all those male avatars walking around in pink boots and high heels was a funny sight. But the event was to bring awareness to the numerous killings of women in Juarez Mexico, hundreds of them unsolved. Any1 Gynoid reports on this event, part of the 16 Day Womens Rights Festival in Second Life.
