Drivers of SL

Sometimes when driving, you just want to get where you're going. And sometimes it's the journey itself that's more important, listening to the radio, and taking in the scenery. And on occasion, there's no particular destination, except maybe back home, eventually, the journey made just to see new things and new places. If this is something you like doing, there's a group for you, the "Drivers of SL." The Newser interviewed a few people behind this large group of people here in Second Life.

(Click here if the video fails to play)

A recording of the Giant Snail Cross-Sim Race that took place on Saturday March 18. 17 racers took part, and the race was unusually tight for a cross-sim race of this length with five crossing the finish line within a couple seconds. They are, in order:

1: Josu Tenk
2: Gunwald Constantine
3: Alden Cortez
4: Imzadi Amaterasu
5: Lorraina McDonnell

Organized by RacerX Gullwing, the race raised a good amount of money for the Relay for Life.

Snow Job: A Tour of Sansara's Winter Lands

Becky Shamen's been out on her explorations again. This time she went to the mainland continent of Sansara to trek through the sims permanently covered in snow. Deciding to stay on the roads, her trip took her through 20 sims, each different in some way. She saw a number of things from a theater, to traffic jams, to a promotion for another Grid, and of course snow, snow, and more snow.

Motorcycle Mania on Route 66

Becky "Sha" Shamen has been out "on the road again" exploring. This time, she went on horseback to take a look at a place made for a group of motorcycle fans. Members of the group get to travel across twelve picturesque sims with a Southwest American desert theme. And crossing it, Becky came across numerous bikers, biker hangouts, and miles of dry desert. So how did Becky fare during her exploring?
