Reader Submitted: Hell-o-Wine

Zada Bury is best known for her "Drivers in SL" videos. But she also runs a club. With Halloween, so many venues were decorating for the spooky season. But where Zada is from, Halloween is viewed a bit differently. And she has her own ideas about what's really scary. So when it came to decorating her club, she had her own ideas.

SL Video: "Drivers of SL Grid Drive - Bonus Leg 'Relay For Life' (2025)"

From Zada Bury on August 4,  "This kind of "Bonus Leg" was happening after the regular drive. It was gone over the "RFL - Relay For Life" Event. I must say, about the massive content from the "old Linden Homes" , I have been pretty done. Also the Computer-memory was appear to be cluttered ... anyway the RLF was für me laggy and not rezzing right mostly." At 0.59 is a certain familiar face.

Last Day For The SLB

For those who put off checking out the Second Life Birthday sims, this is the last day to so. One is about a Second Life myth, "Our Lady of Perpetual Silence." It's at SLB Delightful (212/184/21).

But there's more than just the exhibits. Zady Bury invited me to eheck out what's in the water.

And there was much to see off the beaten path. The Moles did some great work.

Be sure to check it out.

Sadly, unless there's time to do one more update, this will be the last article showing the exhibits as anything other than a memory. After Midnight tonight, the SLB sims will close.

A Request To Extend The SLB Sim Time

Those with suggestions for Linden Lab are free to post them up on the feedback board (board for Land and Public works - here). And there are many. Among them is one submitted by Zada Bury of "Drivers of SL," titled "Enhanced Time For The SLB Event."

The SLB-event is one/the central yearly event(s) ... There are a lot other awesome events ones, too - I don't wanna "declassify" any of them, but the SLB is kinda central, include(s) a lot work from many residents, too ... and is controlled and sponsored (eg. the costs for the Sims) by (Linden Lab).

I ... try to participate in all offered activities ,,,But doing it in the 4 or 5 weeks, beside real-life, beside regular SL-activities ... while maybe having just 1-2 hours the day for SL is stressful. ... I barely made it to just take pictures the exhibitions, but not find time to get in touch with them.

Then it is ... taken down. After that, the awesome work of residents at the exhibitions is gone.

Zada suggested extending the time the exhibits are up until the next "big thing" (Halloween).

Following the Second Life Birthday, while there are smaller, less publicized events still going on around the Grid, the better known ones go quiet, at least until October approaches with Burn2, Making Strides, and of course the Halloween season. So if enacted, some residents would have more to do in the summer.

Zada's post remains open for comments, and one can post comments here below.

SL Video: "Drivers of SL Grid Drive 2024-06-08b - Bonus Leg 'Relay For Life' (2024)"

From Zada Bury on June 29, "Bonus Leg after the 'regular' Grid Drive - a round on the 'RFL - Relay For Life'. ,,, This kind of "Bonus Leg" was happening after the regular drive. It was gone over the "RFL - Relay For Life" Event with a large number of Sims. I wasn't have that much time left, so I was done a fast round. Even while these fast (running) run, I seen a lot awesome builds around, which would have been worth a closer visit, but ... "that if life", you can say, even in SL I get in trouble with having 'too less time' for all."

At 2:09, Zada runs into a certain fox.

Reader Submitted Commentary: Community Roundtalbe for May 20

Last month, Linden Lab held a Community Roundtable to discuss with the residents issues such as the recent changes in the Terms of Service regarding child avatars. The Newser wasn't able to make it over. But others were, including Zada Bury, known for her "Drivers of SL" videos. She overheard just part of it, but heard enough to write down some comments about what she did hear.

Reader Submitted Picture: "Don't Pinch Me!"

From Zada Bury. On St. Patrick's Day, some feel those not wearing green, you get to pinch them for not celebrating the holiday. While Zada's shirt does have a little green in it, she's making double sure nobody pinches.

SL Video: "Zada's Adventures - Valentines Day 2024 ... Love-Train Tide & Isle of View"

From Zada Bury on March 9, "Annual event happening Second Life ™ ... the "Hug and Dunk a Linden" event at the Valentines Day (Hint: That is the 14th February). Read more about the this years event here ... at "show more". As like last year, this one was start with a "Love Train" ride and also the other activities was following the 'classic" (but good!) plot from the last year. In this year, the starting point was at the "Bellisseria Welcome Hub" and all trains was follow the same lane. I was this time not that early there, but I wasn't have problems to enter the Sim. I am not sure, if the Lindens was change the Sim to an 'Event Sim', which could carry 170 people ... or just turned up a regular Sim up to 100 people, as like an island-Sim. The way, how smooth it was running for me, I would guess on an event-Sim. At the begin there was surely some known faces, but less contacts. From the Lindens, I was foremost recognize Wendi ... she was look perfect fitting in and seems to rezzing the trains. Beside was also a larger number of Moles. The trolleys was appear to run this year on an automatic mode, while last year the Mole was operate them. The one, I jumped on was have at least no operator. The half of the ride, the 'Drivers of SL'-group was done at the last weekends Grid Drive. The full ride was take around 40 minutes for me and there was not really unexpected happenings. About the automatic operation ... and the more or less people on a trolley ... the speed was for some a bit different (more people causes a more lag on Sim-crossings and on the Sim, so the individual Trolley was been more slow). At some point it was come to a "clashing" of out trolley with an other one and we was continue "merged", but as the trains was phantom, nothing bad happening. At the end of the train-ride was a TP to the "Isla of View" set up. Sadly that was end in a crash about a disconnect for me. The "Isle of View" was also unchanged ... and still good. There was a lot know and unknown faces ... err ... avatars ... to see. I was feel, this year, more Lindens was there, than the last year. This year was no spanking of Patch Linden ... but I was hugging with some of the Lindens, I seen for a while now - and even if I am not such fan of the "hugging" stuff. Oatmeal was this year also fun to pose with ... surely beside others, too."

Reader Submitted: Is There Really That Much Hate On Furries?

Recently, the Newser published a commentary about the question of how much discrimination there was against those who prefer furry avatars. We would get a few responses. Among them was a reader-submitted article by Zada Bury, best known for her Drivers in SL videos. She would have a few things to say about the issue.

Drivers of SL

Sometimes when driving, you just want to get where you're going. And sometimes it's the journey itself that's more important, listening to the radio, and taking in the scenery. And on occasion, there's no particular destination, except maybe back home, eventually, the journey made just to see new things and new places. If this is something you like doing, there's a group for you, the "Drivers of SL." The Newser interviewed a few people behind this large group of people here in Second Life.
