Cartoon of The Day: Dog Musician

Taken while shopping. I came across this dog playing his guitar at a store.

I figured he'd play most any tune, except one.

Cartoon of The Day: Ghost Dog

Taken at the Shop and Hop. One lady had a ghost pet with her, presumably a dog. While there is the scare factor with any burglars, there is one other advantage to having one that comes to mind.

Cartoon of The Day: Fluffy Tails

Taken at Club Scorn's beach party. So what would a dog think of an anthro furry fox? Yours truly had one idea.

It Came From Bellisseria Chat: "Scary Shark"

In a discussion about Halloween outfits, Kira Skydancer would say, "I'm trick-or-treating as a scarrry shark." Then she posted this picture of a dog in a costume that was more cutsie than scary. It got some positive remarks, "Haha! Noice!" "Sweet." "That's adorable."

She would post a close-up of the avie's eyes being partly covered, "keeps running into things 'cause her hat keeps falling over her eyes. ... Spent some time being scary, needed to be cute today."

Cartoon of the Day: Dog and Furry Skunk

 *

Taken at Bellisseria. Someone had their pet doggie out while I was walking around as an anthro skunk. Which leaves one to wonder how would a real dog think about one.

Cartoon of the Day: Why This Pet?

So what would intelligent foxes get for pets? Their first choice might not be a dog, for similar reasons most humans don't consider pet monkeys. Though there would be reasons to consider one.

Cartoon of the Day: Doggy Thoughts

Taken at the Gen Con. I came across this little doggy. Actually, he was thinking more than this. Though other dogs will never fail to follow you to the kitchen.

Cartoon of the Day: Hairy Situation

Taken at the Happy Vixen. This Chinese Crested Dog avatar has a lot of hair on the head. With barbershops closed down due to the Coronavirus shutdowns, people may think it's not just a fashion statement.

RFL Team Sunbeamers "Bid Me" Results

Earlier this month, Relay for Life's Team Sunbeamers started two more of it's "Bid Me" events. WolfSinger SilverShadow (WolfSinger Fluffball) volunteered for "Bid Me Bunny." Team Captain Rita Mariner put her appearance on the line as well with "Bid Me To The Dogs."

The four kiosks were at Club Cutlass for people to donate to, having until Friday May 17 at 8PM to do so. Shortly after time was up, the results were made public in a group announcement.

WOLFSINGER

WOLF - 50L
BUNNY - 13,010L - 4 weeks as a rabbit

RITA

BUNNY - 1065L
DOG - 6,025L   - 2 weeks as a dog

So far, Rita's been taking her new look in stride, cracking a few dog jokes here and there. But Rita having a reputation as a tough bunny, so far no one's talking about putting her on a leash. As for "Bunnysinger," so far no comment from the DJ whom will now have to deal with "hare-raising" puns.

With these "Bid Me" events done, and the Relaystock over, the team is looking towards the Relay Weekend, a few weeks away. There may or may not be one more event. But at Platinum level fundraising, it can only be considered a successful season for "The Little Team That Could."

RFL Sunbeamers: "Bid Me Bunny" and "Bid Me To The Dogs"

It's been just a few days since the Relay for Life's Team Sunbeamers reached Platinum level fundraising. But rather than rest on it's laurels, the team is already getting into two more fundraisers: "Bid Me Bunny" and "Bid Me To The Dogs."

For "Bid Me Bunny," the volunteer is WolfSinger SilverShadow (WolfSinger Fluffball), also known at the Happy Vixen Beach Club as DJ Aroooo, whom is usually in an anthro wolf avatar. "Wolfsinger is now up on a BID ME to go Bunny!" team captain Rita Mariner announced in group chat, "And I already nailed him for his first week. For each 3000L donation raised and deposited on his kiosk, he will stay a bunny for an additional week.  All monies going to the Relay for Life and American Cancer Society."

As usual for Sunbeamer "Bid Me" events, there are two kiosks. For those who wish to "bunify" him for a while, donate Lindens to the kiosk on the right. For those who would rather Wolfsinger stay a wolf, there's a default kiosk on the left to keep him as is. Despite already having to face being called "Bunnysinger" for at least a week, so far he's keeping his cool about the fundraiser, "Well as long as I don't have to wear a tutu as well."

Despite already having been a pink bunny last month, Rita is once again putting her looks on the line. This time, it's "Bid Me To The Dogs." Like Wolfsinger, for every 3000 Lindens placed in the right kiosk, Rita will be sporting a collar, and be subject to fire hydrant jokes. Those whom would rather have her stay a bunny, donate to the kiosk on the left.

As with all Sunbeamer "Bid Me" events, the kiosks are at Club Cutlass at Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757).

Team Sunbeamer's "Bid Me Pantsless" Extended to May 18

Remember the "Bid Me Pantsless" event announced on April 30? It had been scheduled to end May 4. But partially because one of the participants couldn't be there that night, the time for the bidding has been extended. You now have until May 18 to "Bid Rita to the Dogs," "Bid Liksa Goat," and "Bid Bixyl Pantsless." The totals will be added up at 8PM after the party at Club Cutlass where the kiosks are.

"Bid Me Pantsless" And Other Sunbeamer Bid Me Fundraisers

With the Relay season in full swing, it's time for the "Bid Me" events again. The Relay Rockers have had great success with their "Bid Me Bald" fundraisers. For the Sunbeamers, we usually do something a little different. This week, three of the team are putting themselves on the line with three different "Bid Me"s. Sunweaver Chieftess Rita Mariner has "Bid Me To The Dogs." Liska Fuchs will be doing "Bid Me Goat." And Bixyl Shuftan, myself, will be doing "Bid Me Pantsless."

"Bid Me Pantsless" was inspired by a running joke between me and one particular Sunbeamer. In this one, I'm putting my trousers on the line. Should enough cash be raised, for a week or so depending on the amount I can wear a toga, kilt, robe, or similar garment, or go about in a tiny or micro avie which are too small for my clothes. I just can't wear any pants. The exception to this rule is when doing an interview or other Newser work.

The minimum for me to drop my pants ... , um, maybe I should rephrase that, go pantsless, is 5000 Linden dollars. For each additional 5000 Lindens, another week is added to the time I'll be feeling drafty (14,999 Lindens means 2 weeks, 15K means three). And the amount in the "pantsless" kiosk has to be greater than the "pants" kiosk. So those wanting to help me out can still help me keep my trousers.

Liska Fuchs is almost never seen without her red vixen avatar. That will change should 5000 Lindens be raised in her "Bid Me Goat" fundraiser. Each additional 5000 Lindens, rounded up, means another week of tin-can dinner jokes. The one out, like the "Bid Me Pantsless," is the "Keep Liska Foxy" kiosk. As those familiar with the Sunweavers know, we already have a resident goat: Cynthia Farshore. So the event has sometimes been called "Bid Me Cynthia's sister. There may be one additional catch other than having a shorter tail and cloven hooves for feet. Cynthia is one of the hardest working Sunweavers. So Liska might end up being expected to bust her behind for a week or two.

The inspiration for Rita's "Bid Me" comes from a 1990's cartoon, "Road Rovers." With an avatar of the character "Colleen," Rita is offering to wear it for a week or longer in "Bid Me to the Dogs." Like the other two events, 5000 Lindens means Rita will be wearing the avatar for a week with each additional 5000 Lindens, rounded up, resulting in an additional week. And like the others, there will be another kiosk where people can bid to keep the "boss bunny" as she is.

The kiosks are in the back room of Club Cutlass, at Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757), and will be up until 8PM Friday following the close of the party that night. The results will be tallied and made final.

As of now, the Sunbeamers are well into Platinum level, having reached it a week and a half ago. As of the writing of this article, they have raised over 264,000 Linden dollars, and are expected to hit Jade level sometime this season. This is a level they have never reached before. With these three "Bid Me" events, the team hopes to be significantly closer to it.

So for a little bit of fun, come on over and bid us pantsless, nannygoat and doggie.

Cartoon of the Day: Henry's Bait Obsession

Picture from Gemma Cleanslate. How the dog ended up on the 7Seas bait booth is unknown. But considering how many real life canines seem to have an attraction for anything that really reeks for the noses of those on two legs, it didn't take long to think what the reason could be.
