RFL Sunbeamers Bid Me Events: April 2026

The Relaystock is over, and the Relay's Team Sunbeamers has passed the one million Linden fundraising mark (inworld and offworld combined), But the team's far from done raising cash for the American Cancer society. Three vic-er, volunteers have put their looks on the line for charity in the latest of the team's "Bid Me" events. These fundraisers are based on the "Bid Me Bald" ones popularized by the Relay Rockers team.

Cynthia Farshore and Shockwave Yareach have an unusual pair of Bid Me events. They are each offering to be a clone of one another: Cynthia as Shockwave and vice versa. For both of them, they each have a pair of kiosks in the back of Club Cutlass, Cynthia's the left pair, Shockwave's the center pair. For every 3000 Linden dollars donated in the right kiosk, rounded down, they have to be a clone of the other for a week, Cynthia as a male wolf, Shockwave as a female goat. 5999 Lindens would mean one week, 6000 Lindens would mean two weeks. As with most other Bid Me events, there's a default kiosk for those wanting to keep them their current looks. If the left kiosk is greater than the one on the right, nothing happens.

The third Bis Me event is by Charlee Harmony.  She's offering to change from her usual red fox avatar to a black vixen. For every 2000 Lindens in the right kiosk, rounded down, she stays in her new look for a week. 3999 Lindens would mean one week, 4000 Lindens would mean two.

The kiosks are in the back of Club Cutlass, and so far a total of 18,500 L have been raised in all three. Donations are being accepted until Saturday April 25 when they will presumably be closed at the end of the party that night at 8PM SL time and the results final.

RFL Team Sunbeamer Bid Me Results

It was a week ago on Saturday May 17 in which the results of the Relay's Team Sunbeamers' last three "Bid Me" fundraisers were announced.

Cynthia Farshore
Stay Goat - 100 L
Go Wolf - 14,500 L
( Goes Wolf for 4 weeks)

 Shockwave Yearch

 Go Goat - 14,500 L
( Goes Goat for 4 weeks)

 Rita Mariner
 Stay Bunny - 0 L
 Go Pink - 3000 L
( Goes Pink for 1 week)

So Team Captain Rita Mariner has been "in the pink" for a week, and Cynthia and Shockwave have pledged to switch species.

The "Sunnies" still have two Moon Dance events left, then comes the Relay Weekend.

RFL Sunbeamers "Bid Me" Events

The Sunbeamers Relay for Life team may have gotten Emerald level after passing the one million Linden dollar mark. But that hasn't stopped them from going after more. The team currently has three "Bid Me" events going, inspired by the "Bid Me Bald" fundraisers of the Relay Rockers. All involve kiosks at Club Cutlass in Sunweaver Bay.

The first has Shockwave Yareach as the volunteer, "Bid Shockwave Goat," in which the Sunnies' master builder as well as of parody tunes is putting his looks on the line. For the fundraiser, two kiosks are involved. For every 3000 Linden dollars dropped in the one on the right, rounded down, Shockwave has to spend a week as an anthro goat. 5999 Lindens would mean one week, 6000 L would mean two weeks. There's also a "keep Shockwave Wolf" kiosk on the left for those wanting him to stay as he is.

Cynthia Farshore, the team's other master builder, whose work as won awards, has volunteered for her own "Bid Me" event, "Bid Cynthia Wolf."  For every 3000 Linden dollars dropped in the right kiosk, rounded down, the Sunbeamers' ever hardworking nannygoat becomes a wolfess for a week. 5999 Lindens would mean one week, 6000 L would mean two weeks. There's also a "keep Cynthia Goat" kiosk on the left to keep her hooved and horned.

And last but hardly least, team captain Rita Mariner has also volunteered to put her looks on the line for "Bid Rita Pinkie." For every 3000 Linden dollars dropped in the right kiosk, rounded down, the Sunnies' "killer rabbit" becomes a pink anthro pony for seven days. 5999 Lindens would mean one week, 6000 L would mean two weeks. There's also a "Keep Rita Bunny," kiosk for those wanting to have her avoid becoming a color she is not looking forward to being.

All three fundraisers are going on until Saturday May 17th. Usually the kiosks take donations until just before 8PM SL time when the Cutlass Saturday parties are about to end. But there has been an exception or two.

Once again, the kiosks are accepting bids until May 17.

RFL Sunbeamers: Keeping Up Appearances

Lately, a few of Team Sunbeamers have had different looks than usual. It was last Friday May 8 that the team reached Jade level fundraising. Yours truly had been in a rabbit look for weeks after "Bid Me Bunny." But I'd promised to go green for a week if we reached the half million mark. So since the team did, I did.

Readers also remembered that for Shockwave Yareach's and Cynthia Farshore's recent "Bid Me" events, the results were a rare vote to keep them as before. To make sure those whom voted for a change weren't too disappointed, they went ahead and appeared as the most requested change for the Wednesday night dance at Club Cutlass, Shockwave being a buck goat and Cynthia as a vixen.

For the couple, it was just one day, and for yours truly, it's back to normal today.

New RFL Sunbeamer Fundraisers: Date Auction, Two "Bid Me" Events

Just days after the success of Nydia Tungsten's "Bid Me" event for the Relay for Life's Sunbeamers, the team has three more fundraising events going on. On Monday, it was announced Skylark Lefavre, aka DJ Snowbuns, would be putting herself up for a date auction.

Beamers: You can now win a date with our own DJ Snowy.  She is up for AUCTION, at Club Cutlass.  It will run for about the next 12 days.  Min bid is 100L. but we all know Snowy is worth much more than that. Auction Board is next to entrance at Club Cutlass.  Can't miss it.  Snowy is displayed in all her glowing glory!

Talking to Snowy, she made it clear that the date will have limits. While watching a movie or a slow dance at a club would be nice, she will not take part in any intimate activity. She left open the possibility of a DJ session or drawing. More information is included in a notecard in the bidding board at Club Cutlass. Bidding ends Saturday May 2 at 8PM SL time. As of the writing of this article, the next bid will need to be at least 1200 Lindens.

The other events are the two latest "Bid Me" events for Team Sunbeamers. Shockwave Yareach and Cynthia Farshore, the two most notable builders of the team, are putting their looks on the line. Both have three kiosks each for their event at Club Cutlass. Besides her default avatar, which would allow her to stay her usual goat avatar, Cynthia is offering bidders to make her change to a fox or wolfess for a period of time. For Shockwave, whom is usually a wolf, the options besides the default kiosk are to make him a fox or a goat for a while.

For both events, for each 2000 Lindens raised in the winning kiosk, rounded down, they'll have to spend a week as that look. For instance, 3999 Linden dollars would mean one week while 4000 would mean two. And as before, if the default kiosk comes out on top, the volunteer's appearance is unchanged. People have until Saturday May 9 at 8PM to make their bids.

Once again, the board and kiosks are in the back of Club Cutlass. https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sunweaver%20Bay/114/117/757

RFL Team Sunbeamers Members "Subject To Change" Due to "Bid Me" Results

When the results of Team Sunbeamers' last three "Bid Me" fundraiser events were calculated last Friday, two of the volunteers, Shockwave Yareach and Cynthia Farshore, were out of town. Both are back, and when they showed up at Club Cutlass last night, they were sporting their new looks. For the next few weeks, they will be each other's respective avatar type, Shockwave a goat and Cynthia a wolfess.  "Nobody use the teleporters, except one at a time," Shockwave mused. Cynthia had the title "Subject to Change" over her name, commenting this felt like a bigger change from when she was a fox last year.

The "Bid Me" time periods for Shockwave and Cynthia, as well as Liska Fuchs and yours truly, end on April 19. Rita Mariner, whom is stuck as a pink bunny only until April 5, may do another "Bid Me" soon. As of now, the Relay team has raised over 89,000 Linden dollars.

Cynthia and Shockwave's "Bid Me" Period From Relay Season Ends

In a sense, it was the last event for Team Sunbeamers, the Relay for Life team of the Sunweaver community. During the Relay season, Cynthia Farshore, known for her anthro nannygoat avatar, volunteered for a "Bid Me Foxy" fundraising event for the team. Shockwave soon followed up with his "Bid Me Goat" fundraiser. The two "Bid-Me" events raised over 62,000 Lindens for the team when the totals were tallied on Friday June 15, and helped it reach Sapphire status that weekend. But they were stuck in their new looks for twelve weeks.

When the Relay season ended in July, Rita offered to let Cynthia and Shockwave off the hook as technically all Relay events were over. But the two answered that a promise was a promise and they would stick to it. So they stayed in their "Bid Me" looks until the night of Friday September 7 at the "Lemon/Lime" dance at Club Cutlass when the 12 weeks were finally up. For the first hour, they danced about as usual.

At 7PM, Cynthia vanished in a cloud of pigeons flying in every direction. Then a few minutes later, both reappeared in another cloud of pigeons and red smoke, both in their usual appearances. "Showmanship counts," Shockwave would comment. The two then resumed their dance.

And so, the last of Team Sunbeamer's events was truly over. While the team is proud to have reached Emerald rank for the first time ever, it is also tired. While the team will be doing Bid-Mes and other fundraisers next year, there will probably be no games like this year's "Cancer Shooting Train." But the next season is months away, and Cynthia and Shockwave have a few things to work on in the meantime, such as the Caledon Downs sim and the relocated Goblin Cave,

"Bid Me Buck" And "Rita's Emerald Avatar Challenge"

This year can only be called a record-setting one for the Relay for Life's Team Sunbeamers. Time and time again, "the little team that could," has reached levels like never before. On April 18, it reached Platinum for the earliest time in a season. On May 23, it reached Jade for the first time. On June 18, it hit Platinum Level fundraising for the first time. Since then, fundraising totals have continued to climb, as of the writing of this article over 540,000 Lindens. Which is leading a few on the team to wonder, can they reach Emerald level?

At 625,000 Lindens, or $2500 USD, Emerald level is the third highest fundraising rank, considered accessible by only by a team that's both large and quite active. But with the earlier successes this year, once again the Sunbeamers are reaching for the brass ring. this one with an emerald jewel. To help encourage donations, two of the team are putting their looks on the line once again. Team Captain Rita Mariner has offered to stay in a green bunny avatar for a month if this high rank is achieved.

Since the Sunbeamers are close to reaching Emerald Level, I have decided to put out a BID ME Challenge.  If the Sunbeamers make Emerald Level, I will go GREEN for a month!
I will setup a special set of Kiosks so you can BID away.  They will be at CUTLASS!

Rita's challenge isn't a "Bid Me" in the usual sense that instead of being a different look for every week for so much raised, it's a challenge issued to be a different look for a while if a certain fundraising goal is reached, such as the avatar challenges offered for Jade and Sapphire levels.

And then, there's mine. After Shockwave did a "Bid Me Goat" fundraiser, a certain someone kept encouraging me to do one of my own. So with Rita issuing her avatar challenge, I volunteered for a "Bid Me Buck."

With Emerald rank in sight, Rita and Bixyl are both stepping up one last time this year to put their looks on the line. For Bixyl, with more than a few news critics trying to get his goat, he's volunteered for a "Bid Me (Buck)" fundraiser. For every 5000 Lindens donated in the "goat" kiosk, our intrepid reporter will be with horns and hooves for a week, rounded down (9999=1 week, 10,000=2 weeks). As usual, there's a default kiosk for those wanting to keep him looking foxy. So how long will our reporter be a "ba-a-a-a-a-ad" boy? You decide by donating.

As usual, I can still be my fox avatar when it's clearly obvious I'm on Newser duty, such as interviews. But the rest of the time such as club events, it's the horns and hooves for me, "Oh well, people already think of reporters as 'butt-heads' to begin with."

The main event, the Relay Weekend, is already upon us, being tomorrow. But there's still a month left in the Relay fundraising season. While many teams just sit back at this time, the Sunbeamers won't be among them. So even if I end up taking life by the virtual horns will the "little team that could" pull it off still yet again for a third rank it's never before obtained? Why not?

The kiosks for "Bid Me Buck" are at Club Cutlass, at Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757).

RFL Team Sunbeamers Hit Sapphire Level

It was a great weekend for the Relay for Life in Second Life's Team Sunbeamers. Friday June 15 was the close of two "Bid Me" events run by the team, "Bid Me Foxy" in which Cynthia Farshore was putting her anthro goat avatar on the line, and "Bid Me Goat" in which Shockwave Yareach did the same with his wolf avatar. At Club Cutlass at 8PM following the party there, the amounts raised on the kiosks were made final, Rita announcing the results:

Beamers:  here are the results of the 2 BID MEs that ended tonight.

Cynthia Farshore:
Stay Goat:             12,900L
Go Foxy;                 24144L

She goes Foxy for 12 WEEKS!

Shockwave Yareach:
Stay Wolf:                 1050 L
Go Goat:                    24100 L

He goes Goat for 12 Weeks!

Cynthia took the change more or less in stride, when changing into a vixen having a chicken in her mouth, later saying, "Between the kiosk of Shocky and I, we racked up L$62,244." Shockwave posted on Facebook, "I was on the BidMe for Relay For Life. Every 2K$ put in, I'm a Goat for a week. I'm now gonna be a Goat for... 12 Weeks. Holy..."

The following day, Saturday June 16, was the Farshore Field Air Show. It was widely expected that the team would get to the coveted half million Linden dollar mark. And before the event was over, it did. The Sunbeamers passed 500,000 Lindens, and achieved Sapphire fundraising rank. For the second time this season, the team had achieved a rank they never had before.

The last time The Sunbeamers reached this amount of cash, I went in a female avatar for a week. But with me pantsless most of the time thanks to a previous Bid Me event,  I wasn't in the mood for something so drastic this time. So when one of my teammates was saying she'd go purple for two weeks if the team reached Sapphire, I offered to take one of them. But team captain Rita Mariner and teammates Dusk Griswold, and Skylark Lefavre also went purple that day.

So what next? There is a joint event with the Meli's Maniacs team being planned. And of course there is the Relay Weekend and the Sunbeamer camp build next month. For now, once again the "Little team that could" is taking pride that once again it's proved itself a top fundraiser among the Relay teams.

Go Sunbeamers! Go Relay!

Team Sunbeamer's "Bid Shockwave Goat" Fundraiser

After a week, Team Sunbeamer's "Bid Me Foxy" is doing well, having raised 8500 Lindens so far. It's just been joined by another "Bid Me" Fundraiser, "Bid Shockwave Goat."

With Cynthia Farshore, who has always been known by her anthro nannygoat avatar, going canid for a while with "Bid Me Foxy," her teammate Shockwave Yareach is joining her with a "Bid Me" that turns things full circle. In "Bid Shockwave Goat," the Sunbeamer who is seldom seen without his anthro wolf avatar, promises to be an anthro buck goat for every week each 2000 Linden dollars, rounded down are raised. This means if 5999 Lindens are raised, he spends two weeks in his new look while 6000 would mean tin can jokes for three. And as with other Sunbeamer Bid Me events, there's a default kiosk for those wanting him to keep his usual look. If it gets more cash than the goat kiosk, he stays a wolf.

As of the writing of this article, 3000 Linden dollars have been raised. Meaning without lots of cash in the default kiosk, he'll be hooved for at least one week. How many more "bucks" the goat fundraiser gets remains to be seen.

Both Cynthia's "Bid Me Foxy" and the "Bid Shockwave Goat" run until Friday June 15 at 8PM, following the close of the party contest at Club Cutlass where the kiosks are. As of the writing of this article, Team Sunbeamers have raised a little more than 397,000 Linden dollars. With the upcoming "Club Crawl" and Sunbeamer Air Show, 500,000 Lindens and Sapphire level fundraiser status are within sight.

Sunbeamer "Bid Me" Fundraisers Raise Over 53,000 Lindens

On Friday May 18, the totals of Team Sunbeamers' first round of "Bid Me" events were made final and official. For those who need a reminder, the three volunteers were Team Chieftess Rita Mariner in "Bid Me to the Dogs," Liska Fuchs in "Bid Me Goat," and Bixyl Shuftan (myself) in "Bid Me Pantsless." Following the end of the party at Club Cutlass at 8PM that night, Rita tallied up the amounts, and gave them out in a Sunbeamer team announcement:

Liska:
Keep Fox =    150L
Go Goat =      16,100L so goes Goat x 3 weeks

Bixyl
Keep Fox = 1100 L
Go Pantless = 25,200L so Pantless x 5 weeks

Rita
Keep Bunny = 0L
Go to Dogs = 10,650L so a Dog for 2 weeks

So it seems yours truly will be sans trousers for a while, at least when not doing Newser duty such as interviews. But I won't be going around in my undies. There's kilts, togas, male kimonos, swimming trunks, and of course going about in tiny avatars that my clothes don't fit. At a little over 25,000 , this was my second most successful Bid Me event, the top one my "Bid Me Human" for the Passionate Redheads several years ago.

With a total of 53,200 raised, this first round of Bid-Me events pushed Team Subeamers past the 300,000 mark. As of the writing of this article, the team has raised over 346,000 Lindens. At this rate, it won't be long before the team reaches Jade level, which it has never done. This season, that will take 375,000 Lindens. Earlier, I stated if this level was reached, I'd be in a green avatar for a week. It looks like I may have both a Jade Avatar challenge *and* a Bid Me condition to live up to. Oh well.

The Sunbeamers are planning more events this season, including an air show in June. And of course there's the Relay Weekend.

Go Sunbeamers! Go Relay!

Team Sunbeamer's "Bid Me Pantsless" Extended to May 18

Remember the "Bid Me Pantsless" event announced on April 30? It had been scheduled to end May 4. But partially because one of the participants couldn't be there that night, the time for the bidding has been extended. You now have until May 18 to "Bid Rita to the Dogs," "Bid Liksa Goat," and "Bid Bixyl Pantsless." The totals will be added up at 8PM after the party at Club Cutlass where the kiosks are.

"Bid Me Pantsless" And Other Sunbeamer Bid Me Fundraisers

With the Relay season in full swing, it's time for the "Bid Me" events again. The Relay Rockers have had great success with their "Bid Me Bald" fundraisers. For the Sunbeamers, we usually do something a little different. This week, three of the team are putting themselves on the line with three different "Bid Me"s. Sunweaver Chieftess Rita Mariner has "Bid Me To The Dogs." Liska Fuchs will be doing "Bid Me Goat." And Bixyl Shuftan, myself, will be doing "Bid Me Pantsless."

"Bid Me Pantsless" was inspired by a running joke between me and one particular Sunbeamer. In this one, I'm putting my trousers on the line. Should enough cash be raised, for a week or so depending on the amount I can wear a toga, kilt, robe, or similar garment, or go about in a tiny or micro avie which are too small for my clothes. I just can't wear any pants. The exception to this rule is when doing an interview or other Newser work.

The minimum for me to drop my pants ... , um, maybe I should rephrase that, go pantsless, is 5000 Linden dollars. For each additional 5000 Lindens, another week is added to the time I'll be feeling drafty (14,999 Lindens means 2 weeks, 15K means three). And the amount in the "pantsless" kiosk has to be greater than the "pants" kiosk. So those wanting to help me out can still help me keep my trousers.

Liska Fuchs is almost never seen without her red vixen avatar. That will change should 5000 Lindens be raised in her "Bid Me Goat" fundraiser. Each additional 5000 Lindens, rounded up, means another week of tin-can dinner jokes. The one out, like the "Bid Me Pantsless," is the "Keep Liska Foxy" kiosk. As those familiar with the Sunweavers know, we already have a resident goat: Cynthia Farshore. So the event has sometimes been called "Bid Me Cynthia's sister. There may be one additional catch other than having a shorter tail and cloven hooves for feet. Cynthia is one of the hardest working Sunweavers. So Liska might end up being expected to bust her behind for a week or two.

The inspiration for Rita's "Bid Me" comes from a 1990's cartoon, "Road Rovers." With an avatar of the character "Colleen," Rita is offering to wear it for a week or longer in "Bid Me to the Dogs." Like the other two events, 5000 Lindens means Rita will be wearing the avatar for a week with each additional 5000 Lindens, rounded up, resulting in an additional week. And like the others, there will be another kiosk where people can bid to keep the "boss bunny" as she is.

The kiosks are in the back room of Club Cutlass, at Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757), and will be up until 8PM Friday following the close of the party that night. The results will be tallied and made final.

As of now, the Sunbeamers are well into Platinum level, having reached it a week and a half ago. As of the writing of this article, they have raised over 264,000 Linden dollars, and are expected to hit Jade level sometime this season. This is a level they have never reached before. With these three "Bid Me" events, the team hopes to be significantly closer to it.

So for a little bit of fun, come on over and bid us pantsless, nannygoat and doggie.
