Cartoon of The Day: Happy Easter

Taken at the Sunbeamer Team HQ in Sunweaver Bay. Bunnies, chocolate and regular, are a part of Easter. But being an animated choco bunny would have some definite disadvantages.

Scenes From Easter

The weekend from Friday April 15 to Sunday April 17 was a busy one in Second Life. The Bellissarians were celebrating their anniversary at their Fairgrounds. But that wasn't all. It was also Easter Weekend, so there were a number of Easter Events. While yours truly has been extra busy in real life, I was able to get a few pictures.

See the pictures in Events.

Cartoon of The Day

Taken at Club Cutlass' "I and J" event. Looks like Juno's about to enjoy a frozen treat, regardless what others say about canines and chocolate.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

A number of you have seen the 1971 movie "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory" and/or the 2005 remake "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." While there's no chocolate factory like this in real life, someone made it appear here in Second Life. Gemma Cleanslate took it upon herself to head there and explore this "sweet operation."

Happy Easter

It's Easter Sunday, which means a number of things in Second Life. For some, it's strictly chocolate and bunnies. One of the best known examples of this is Easter Town in the Townies sim, which Gemma wrote about last year.

And then, there's the more spiritual side of Easter. There are many churches, and prayer groups, in Second Life. Among them is The Vine Christian Mission at Miliaco (160/95/75), and the Egyptian church at the Coptic Egypt sim.

However you celebrate, Happy Easter.

Taken at Club Cutlass' Easter party. DJ Snowbuns was sporting a milk chocolate bunny look. Perhaps it was a good luck charm with her music.

Cartoon of the Day: The Easter Bunny Overdoes It

Taken at Easter Town in the Townies sim. Looks like the Easter Bunny overindulged on his own treats.

Cartoon of the Day: Happy Easter

At Club Cutlass's Easter party, Valkyrie Ice (Valkyrie McGil) finds that while it might make you "sweet" to others, being a chocolate bunny has it's downside.

Classic SLN Cartoons: "Happy Easter"

Done for April 2010, this guy was playing around with animations, so when he was sitting  in this prayer pose for a while, I got my "Loco Poco" chocolate rabbit and took this picture.

Gem Sunkiller's "Bid Me Chocolate"

Last week, Gem Sunkiller volunteered for a "Bid Me" Relay For Life event. There had been a number of "Bid Me Bald" events this year, such as the ones for Trader Whiplash and Gina Gracemount. But Gem Sunkiller put more than her hair on the line. She would risk getting eaten alive. She stated if enough Lindens were raised, 168,000 in total, she would wear an avatar of chocolate!

Hey Relayers! Not long ago a Challenge was laid before Koy and Mandy to raise 168,000 in order to make Gem Sunkiller wear a Chocolate Avatar for 1 week! THEY ARE SO CLOSE! 70-80K already in the Coffers and they need YOUR HELP! Tonight from 6-8 PM SLT  we will have an Open Kiosk Event at the ACS Events Area, Madonna will be there waiting to rezz Your teams Kiosk. At the end of the event all the Kiosks totals will be tallied and the amount announced. COME BRING YOUR FRIENDS AND SET GEM'S CHOCOLATE DOOM!

The event was held on June 12 at the American Cancer Society sim, starting at 6PM. Among those there were DJ Madonna and Alleara Snoodle. There were a few chocolate bar props set up. Gem had on a chocolate brown dress, in addition to Madonna wearing a fudge colored latex suit. Instead of just one event, there were a number of active kiosks taking in funds for several teams. Within a couple hours, the rest of the Lindens needed for the chocolatey dare had been raised.

Madonna Milena: Sheriff Al is now DJ'ing here on the island. The kiosk totals still count toward Gem's chocolatey time... So come on down.. Dance with us some more.. Buy more chocolate coating - and help give cancer the boot! And if you're not yet represented in the row of kiosks, let me know and I'll rezz one for you!

The event went on for a while past the 8PM scheduled ending, with the partiers laughing and joking, in addition to dancing.

IshtarAngel Micheline took a number of pictures of the event, which can be seen on her Flickr.

It was a couple days before Gem would get the  the avatar, a chocolate wolfgirl. It would be a couple more days until the Relay event at Arinultra Beach before I saw the avatar for myself. She joked she had gotten a wolfess and not a bunny as it could bite back anyone nibbling on her.

It was good chocolately fun in the name of rasing funds for cancer.

Go Relay!

Candyland Ride in Conundrum

Mystery's sister sim, Conundrum, has a new attraction just in time for Easter: the Candyland Factory ride.

Just go through the door and down the stairs, following the arrows. One soon gets to a chocolate river with a boat just big enough for two, the right size for a couple on a date. But larger groups can also take the tour as another boat will appear after the first is taken.

Going down the river, one finds a magical land, an underground candy factory. But this isn't "Willy Wonka," and there are no little chubby men. Instead the treats are made by teddy bear bakers, who make and gather the treats. One can find all sorts here from donuts, to lollipops sprouting like flowers, cupcakes, gumdrops, cookie trees, and more.

The Candyland ride is at the Anchorage shopping district at the Conundrum sim (84, 144, 26)

"Hot Cocoa" at Steelhead

At Steelhead City on Saturday Dec 17th at 7PM, there was a "Hot Cocoa" dance. This may not sound unusual at first, but in this town with its share of mad scientists, they went over the top. A cup of hot chocolate was enlarged and the surface of the liquid solidified to walk on. But the marshmallows remained soft and fluffy.

About a dozen attended the dance, human, elven, lycan, and young & old. The music was provided by Sheriff "Fuzzball" Ortega, whom found some "sweet music" for the chocolate lovers. Tips got a comment from a message machine, "Thank you, now I can afford a bigger cup of hot cocoa."

Baron Klaus Wulfenbach was among those attending the dance. Some of the others had some unusual costumes with marshamallow themes, including one woman whom came all in white including some make up. Another wore an outfit with matching smiling marshmallow hat and backpack. A third wore, "In case anyone can't read my shirt it says, 'I torture marshmallows.' "

Everyone had a "sweet" time that evening.
