"Bid Me Purple" Results and "Bid Me Mouse or Bunny"

By Bixyl Shuftan

At over 337,000 Lindens at the time this article was written, the Relay's Team Sunbeamers is now eighth among the teams. Besides the weekly Moon Dance which it hosts and other "Bring Your Own Kiosk" events it attends, it's doing some "Bid Me" fundraisers. On Saturday March 20, LiskaBystrouska's "Bid Me Purple" concluded. The event brought in 12,050 Lindens, and she was committed to being a violet vixen for a month.

"Bid Me Purple" Results: Liska Goes Purple

And the results are in for LiskaBystrouska's "Bid Me Purple" event.

Normal Foxy Self: 50L

Bid Liska Purple: 12000L

Liska goes purple for four weeks.

Thanks again Lisk for your "grape" contribution for the team.

But in addition to the date auction, the "Bid Me Foxy," and "Bid Me Pink" events, club owner and estate manager Nydia Tungsten has stepped in to put her looks on the line as well. She has a "Bid Me" of her own, "Bid Me Mouse or Bunny"

Team Sunbeamers has a new Bid Me event. The talented Nydia Tungsten is putting her looks on the line with "Bid Me Mouse or Bunny. This event has three kiosks. You can donate to make her a mouse, a bunny, or keep her as her normal foxy self. At the end of the event, the kiosk with the highest total wins out. If the mouse or bunny kiosk comes out ahead, she has to spend a week for each 2000 Lindens donated, rounded down. The event is at the BBBC and goes on until Sunday April 11.

Unlike the previous "Bid Me" events, this one has three kiosks. As usual, the one on the left is the default one where those wanting to keep Nydia as is can donate. But those desiring the white vixen have a new look for a while have a choice. For those with the intend of making her a mouse like her partner Brandi Streusel, there's a "Bid Me Mouse" kiosk in the center. For those wishing her appear in a bunny form, to the right is a "Bid Me Bunny" one. For each 2000 Linden dollars donated into the winning kiosk, rounded down, Nydia spends a week as the assigned look. That is, unless the default kiosk comes out ahead.

As with DJ Matt's "Bid Me Pink," the kiosks for this fundraiser are at the Bouncing Bunny Beach Club in SunwaterThree. The event goies on to Sunday April 11, and the totals will be made final at 9PM SL time with the results announced soon after.

So will Nydia end up squeaking on by, or will she be doing the bunny hop at the dance clubs? The donators will be the judge.

The date auction, featuring DJ Snowbuns, is almost over. Those wishing to make a bid to date the cute bunnygirl have until Saturday March 27, with the results made final just before 8PM SL time.

Among the Relay teams, Camping For a Cure is first, with over two million Lindens raised and the only Diamond level team. Second and third are the Cure Chasers and The River of Life teams, with over half a million raised each and are Ruby level. Eleven more teams, including the Sunbeamers, are Platinum ranked with over a quarter million raised.

"Bid Me Mouse" and "Bid Me Bunny"

Team Sunbeamers may be a top-ranked team in the Relay for Life. But it's not going to just sit back and coast. The team has started up two "Bid Me" events to raise some Lindens: "Bid Me Mouse" and "Bid Me Bunny."

Based on the "Bid Me Bald" events started by Trader Whiplash, in these cases two people known for going about in nonhuman avatars most of the time are putting their looks on the line. For each of the events, there is a pair of kiosks. If you want the person to remain what they look like, put your Lindens in the one on the left. To make the volunteer look different for a while, put your cash in the right kiosk. If the right kiosk is higher when the totals are counted, the person goes about in the appearance for a period of time.

In "Bid Me Mouse," Sunbeamer team captain Rita Mariner is offering to go about in a mouse avatar. For every 2500 Linden dollars raised, she has to spend a week as a mouse. Just part of 2500 doesn't count. If 4999 Linden dollars are placed in the kiosk, she only has to spend one week as a cheese-lover. If 5000 Linden dollars are in the kiosk, she's an anthro mouse for two weeks. That is if the "change" kiosk is greater than the default kiosk.

For "Bid Me Bunny," it's Sunbeamer team member and Newser editor Bixyl Shuftan (yours truly) whose appearance is on the line. For every 2500 raised in the right kiosk, I end up with long ears and a cottontail for a week, rounded up. If 4999 Linden dollars are placed in the kiosk, I only need to spend one week as a bun. If 5000 Linden dollars are in the kiosk, it's "What's up doc" jokes for two weeks. Once again, if the bunny kiosk is higher than the one to keep me foxy.

The possible "out" for me is when I'm doing something obvious for the Newser, notably doing an interview. As for my tradition of the "Platinum Avatar Challenge," I'll make a bunny look part of it should the team reach Platinum while the "Bid Me" period is going on.

The kiosks are in the back of Club Cutlass. So come on over and bid us a different look. Just don't expect Rita to make appearances in Orlando Florida or me to dye myself pink and bang on a drum.

RFL Team Sunbeamers "Bid Me" Results

Earlier this month, Relay for Life's Team Sunbeamers started two more of it's "Bid Me" events. WolfSinger SilverShadow (WolfSinger Fluffball) volunteered for "Bid Me Bunny." Team Captain Rita Mariner put her appearance on the line as well with "Bid Me To The Dogs."

The four kiosks were at Club Cutlass for people to donate to, having until Friday May 17 at 8PM to do so. Shortly after time was up, the results were made public in a group announcement.

WOLFSINGER

WOLF - 50L
BUNNY - 13,010L - 4 weeks as a rabbit

RITA

BUNNY - 1065L
DOG - 6,025L   - 2 weeks as a dog

So far, Rita's been taking her new look in stride, cracking a few dog jokes here and there. But Rita having a reputation as a tough bunny, so far no one's talking about putting her on a leash. As for "Bunnysinger," so far no comment from the DJ whom will now have to deal with "hare-raising" puns.

With these "Bid Me" events done, and the Relaystock over, the team is looking towards the Relay Weekend, a few weeks away. There may or may not be one more event. But at Platinum level fundraising, it can only be considered a successful season for "The Little Team That Could."

RFL Sunbeamers: "Bid Me Bunny" and "Bid Me To The Dogs"

It's been just a few days since the Relay for Life's Team Sunbeamers reached Platinum level fundraising. But rather than rest on it's laurels, the team is already getting into two more fundraisers: "Bid Me Bunny" and "Bid Me To The Dogs."

For "Bid Me Bunny," the volunteer is WolfSinger SilverShadow (WolfSinger Fluffball), also known at the Happy Vixen Beach Club as DJ Aroooo, whom is usually in an anthro wolf avatar. "Wolfsinger is now up on a BID ME to go Bunny!" team captain Rita Mariner announced in group chat, "And I already nailed him for his first week. For each 3000L donation raised and deposited on his kiosk, he will stay a bunny for an additional week.  All monies going to the Relay for Life and American Cancer Society."

As usual for Sunbeamer "Bid Me" events, there are two kiosks. For those who wish to "bunify" him for a while, donate Lindens to the kiosk on the right. For those who would rather Wolfsinger stay a wolf, there's a default kiosk on the left to keep him as is. Despite already having to face being called "Bunnysinger" for at least a week, so far he's keeping his cool about the fundraiser, "Well as long as I don't have to wear a tutu as well."

Despite already having been a pink bunny last month, Rita is once again putting her looks on the line. This time, it's "Bid Me To The Dogs." Like Wolfsinger, for every 3000 Lindens placed in the right kiosk, Rita will be sporting a collar, and be subject to fire hydrant jokes. Those whom would rather have her stay a bunny, donate to the kiosk on the left.

As with all Sunbeamer "Bid Me" events, the kiosks are at Club Cutlass at Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757).
