Trans-Sansara Causeway Completed

 

For those who have been waiting and waiting to drive through the whole length of the Trans-Sansara Causeway, good news.  On Friday September 18, the Lindens and Moles added the last sections in the Thetis, Aptos, Tomales, and Swanton sims, finally completing the roadway going from the Luna to Mavericks. 

 

Some extra effort was done on Aptos Island. Besides the road, there was a rest stop added.  It was a large parking lot with an off ramp into the water for people to rezz boats. The place was well-detailed with the rocks and the trees. 

 

Between Tomales and Swanton, there was a metal-arch bridge.  As with the others, one could drive across it, or walk. 

 

From what I've heard, there was a small ceremony just after noon on Friday, with the gates opened and with Kit and Wendi Linden present, with some residents of Bay City.  Some would start driving right away or soon after. On Bay City Discord, Tish Coronet stated she could get from "Langdale to Truro, without racing, 35-40 minutes."

 

 

There would also be a video of the opening (by Bay City Studios). 

 

And so after about a month and a half, the Trans-Sansara Project is finished. And those with cars are free to go for a spin. But if you're a heavy lagger, be careful about going too fast when approaching a sim boundary.

Wendi Linden Speaks On The Trans-Sansara Causeway

 

There's not much new to report on the Trans-Sansara Causeway, aside that I was contacted by Wendi Linden. "I want to reach out to the appropriate Residents and Resident groups, so they have see(n) this," she told me, "I do know that the Newser has reported on this road project before in recent weeks, though, and wanted to make sure to give you a heads up that this should be complete soon." She thought it would be finished in about two weeks at most, though most likely sooner, "Some of it, particularly some of the parts we are working on offsite, should be quite a bit of fun for drivers."

 

Ultimately, the project, she stated, would go from "the Frog Road though NW Sansara to Nova Albion and Bay City."

Back at the island, not much to report other than the bulldozer moved.  But at the Whatever sims, the colorful lines have vanished. So something is going on, just away from prying eyes.

Trans-Sansara Causeway Update

 

Construction at the Trans-Sansara Causeway has been quiet for the past several days. There has been no work on the bridge itself. But I did notice Wendi Linden had placed some equipment in the Aptos side of the two-sim island in the area. This included a porto-potty with half of a German magazine inside. Maybe the bidet stopped working?

Trans-Sansara Causeway Update

 

Checking again around Aptos and Tomales, the two-sim island that's one end of the "Trans-Sansara Causeway" project, there was one small change. There was a barge with a crane, put there by Wendi Linden. Perhaps a sign of construction here very soon.

It Came From Bellisseria Chat: Wendi's Butt

 

While the residents can sometimes have a love-hate relationship with Linden Lab, individual Lindens are usually seen more warmly. This can be especially so with Lindens and Moles involved with getting Linden Homes up and running. One day a few days ago, I happened to notice this line in Bellisseria chat

[09:34] N**** (N********* Resident): I am looking at the new region and the lands I have to say poor Wendi is working her butt off I just she her tping around.

The chatter went on for twenty minutes or so, then a certain Linden happened to comment

[09:52] Wendi Linden: @********* - I assure you that, while I do still have a butt, I am doign all I can to make sure everyone gets that Linden Home they want. :-D

That led to some cheers of "Hi Wendi!", and a couple laughs. One resident also quipped, "Yayyy! Wendy was the fae  who got me  into my log. Poor Wendi,  I was so anxious, I was about to pull her by her ears." Wendi's response was "Too kind! I will say that it's always very rewarding to be able to get all y'all your Linden Homes. Even if I've worn through two pairs of boots in the process, running from home to home. :-)"

So it seems the Lindens are never too far away in Bellisseria chat, "Quite okay :-)"

Scenes From The Bay City Tree Trimming Party

 

 Sunday December 6 was the tree-lighting party at Bay City. The event took place from 1 to about 4 PM SL time in the North Channel sim, the Bay City Fairgrounds.

The tree itself was south from most of the action. It was unlit while I was there. The lighting would be late in the event. There were ice skates available for people to take and skate around it.

There was a silent auction with a number of items up for bid. This was to support the Child's Play Charity (www.childsplaycharity.org).

A number of Bay City  regulars were there, including top citizen Marianne McCann. The party had a special guest at one point, Wendi Linden. She dropped by, and joined in the fun.

 Three musicians did the music for the event. First was GoSpeed Racer whom DJed via her KONA radio station. Earlier in the day she was at Book Island to talk about her latest novel. After her came two life musicians, Maximillion Kleene and Wolfie Starfire.

It was a fun event with plenty for people to enjoy.
