Skunk Party At The Happy Vixen, with Michi Lumin

Thursday Sept. 22 was the day of the Happy Vixen's "Skunk Party." Although the theme was chosen in advance several days earlier, the news of the "Sabrina Online" comic coming to a conclusion made the part a tribute to the twenty year strip as well. In the past, there have been some impressive-sized skunk parties at Club Zero and Luskwood. The turnout for this one was somewhat light, but there were a couple notable personalities from Luskwood and Trotsdale.

Among those there was Michi Lumin, perhaps the best known of the four founders of Luskwood, one of Second Life's oldest communities, as well as the location of the oldest furry avatar maker. Begining a few years ago, she's also been involved with keeping the sims of the pony community of Trotsdale going. She had dropped by to say hello.

Also there was ScentualLust, whom in the past had been a part owner of Trotsdale. But had recently given up her share to Michi. She stuck around Skylark LeFavre, the manager of the Happy Vixen, and that night doing the DJing.

Scentual, or "Scents" as she's occasionally known, told me a little something about skunk spray animations. It used to be they could only just go straight ahead or at anyone giving permissions (unlikely). But more recent ones could target anyone nearby using "Restrained Life Viewer" features. A rather "stinky" situation indeed.

Derpyland's Fourth Anniversary Party

Sunday August 7 was the date of the fourth anniversary party of the Derpyland sim. Starting at 3PM SL time, and ending some time after 6PM, the party some called the "DL4B" attracted a good-sized crowd. Although it was Derpyland which was having the anniversary, the party took place in the Trotsdale sim. DJ Dashy (Shippo849) provided the tunes in the hour I was over. I didn't hear anything that sounded like it was from the cartoon, mostly pop and 80s music, such as "Take on Me," "Rebel Yell," and "It's My Life."

Skylark Lefavre, the manager of the Happy Vixen, was among those there. So was Scentuallust, the owner of Derpyland and a co-owner of Trotsdale. Commenting about a pony that sat to the DJ's left as a self described bodyguard, Scent joked,  "We all know Dashy can't have a Right Guard because I make Right Guard turn left." There were also a few jokes about ball pits and cons, "Every con I go to is suffocated with deodorant perfume and nasty soap."

But it was good clean fun for everyone. And if anyone has to ask, yours truly went as his usual foxy self, and not the one from the week-long avatar challenge from the Sunbeamer team going Platinum. As it turns out, Scentuallust was the leader of a team that built a free pony avatar that can be found at Derpyland Square, Derpyland (41/185/21).

"Cheesy" Tournament at the Happy Vixen: More Pictures

Well, sometimes when you think you've lost something, you've found it again. When I was looking for pictures of last weekend's "Cheesy" tournament at the Happy Vixen, I found fewer than I thought I took, and many of those I did couldn't be used. As it turned out, I had relogged, and saved the pictures with a slight misspelling in the name. So here are a few more images of the event.

 The goal was to win two matches. But several players won one before someone finally came out on top.

And here's ScentualLust, the winner. While "au naturel,"she always keeps her fur brushed over certain parts of the body that would make a picture unusable in this publication. She gave her prize to a friend in Derpyland.

"Cheesy" Tournament at the Happy Vixen

Saturday April 2 was the day of the Parcheesi, or "Cheesy" as some American players in Second Life call it, tournament at the Happy Vixen. Organized by Nydia Tungsten for the "Furry Gamers" group, the prize was a free game of "Contagion," a zombie first-person shooter game, on Steam.

As the Happy Vixen is on a nude beach, there were a few players whom were "au-naturel," so the best pictures yours truly took couldn't be used here. Jasmine Dawn, L'sai Aeon, and Valkyre were among those who won a match. The winner was ScentualLust of Luskwood.

Ponyland's Closing

Among the sims to close in 2015, among the last, if not the last to do so was one of the Trotsdale community's places: Ponyland. Originally, it was planned to stay up only for a short time, but it proved a bit more popular than expected, and was kept up. But eventually time ran out, and it was decided to give the place one final party before the end.

Trotsdale Celebrates it's Fourth Anniversary

Saturday September 19 was the fourth anniversary of the Trotsdale pony sim. And they celebrated with a big disco party, the event starting at Noon SL time.

Let's celebrate Trotsdale's 4rth Birthday together! Starting ... at 12PM SLT, the Theme is 1970s Big city nights.

The event took place in a skybox 3000 meters high above the sim. Various DJs, such as DJ Dash  (shurikenangel) played music for the event. ScentualLust also played some music for the occasion at one point. Once in a while, a random prize giver would give a lucky attendee a gift, such as an avatar mod or 250 Lindens.

The party got quite packed at times, with a few dozen ponies, some furs, and a couple normal human avatars dropping in. There were quite a number of jokes cracked, being September 19 including a pirate joke or two, and well wishes for the sim and community.

"None of this would be possible if it were not for Nyan (xnyannyanx). Daydream (brian.rutherford), and Cloudy Skies (charlie.sapeur).  They helped big time with helping build the party area.  Also the awesome DJs and entertainers and of course you awesome ponies for coming here for an awesome time :) You all are what make this community great, Trotsdale has been around for four years and it's all because of you guys."

No doubt the fifth anniversary party will be a blast as well.

Ponyland's Grand Opening

Last weekend, a new pony-themed sim was officially opened: Ponyland. To celebrate, a grand opening party was held there. Bixyl Shuftan dropped by to get a few pictures of the party and location.
