Talia Painting Exhibit Grand Opening
Yesterday at November 28 at 6PM SL time, there was a grand opening event for the Talia Painting Exhibit at Netera's Coffee Shop and Enchanted Mermaid Gallery. The event featured live musician Austin Moores. Though when I got there, it was Helena Navarita doing the singing.
Artist Talia Sinsong would say of her works via the notecard announcing the event, "'Fire and Water' is about that brilliant sea of color in the sky and water at the moment of sunrise or sunset. I also included another fire in the sky, a painting with the flash of lightning as a ship weathers a storm.
I am passionate about creating a mood or telling a story in my creations, including painting, drawing, writing, 3D computer models or immersive virtual worlds. I have also worked in filmmaking and was a crew member for two Sundance Film Festival picks. I hope my artwork uplifts you and brings a smile to your face."

Correction: Originally I wrote it was Talia doing the singing, as she was on stage. Sorry about the error.

Netera's Coffee Shop Re-Opens
It was a week ago that Netera's Coffee Shop, after being closed for months, officially reopened. On January 4 at 3PM, Netera Lander interviewed musician AM Quar (Andre Massicotte in real life) in front of a live audience. Andre could sing in English, Spanish, and French, and had done 300 songs, with 2 CDs under his real-life name. Netera thought musicians like him were something that needed to be promoted, "Music today is so repetitious ... we need to get back to that." Of Andre's performances, one member of the audience commented, "Were else can you ladies go to hear a french speaking guy sing to you in Spanish?"
The Coffee Shop is at Snug Harbor (112, 110, 22). Events are not on a truly fixed schedule, but are either on Saturday or Sunday sometime in mid-afternoon

Netera's New Coffee Shop
It was about four years ago when I first came across Netera Landar and her Coffee Lounge, giving a chance for aspiring writers and musicians. When we last met up with her, she was busy with real life writing, publishing via Kindle as well as a real life newspaper column.
We recently heard she's been setting up a new Coffee Shop. "I'm starting my chats again," she told me when I dropped by. Of it's smaller size, "It's not the studio but will it will provide an intimate conversation. ... I'll be starting from scratch again, new location, rebuilding my group."
"I'm starting in January, Saturdays or Sundays, when the musician, artist, etc is available. ... This is a promotional vehicle for those I interview, best way to communicate with their followers." She says most of her events will probably be mid-afternoon, around 3PM SL time. She also expressed plans for a class aimed at beginning writers.

Pirates at Snug Harbor Maratime Museum
"Talk Like a Pirate Day" isn't for another ten days. But Grey Lupindo found a spot for those wanting to get into the spirit of the unofficial holiday a little early. At the Snug Harbor Maratime Museum, there are a number of exhibits on ships and sailing. But it was the one on pirates Grey focused on. There were tales about a number of pirates, some of whom weren't always seen as criminals.
