Taken at Club Cutlass' "Toon Time." "Wreck-It-Ralph" as the "bad guy" in his video game is a sympathetic one when you think about it. His home, a stump in the woods, is uprooted to make way for an apartment complex. And the impulsive guy that he is, vents his fists at the source of his problem. Sly Cooper may be technically breaking the law in his heists, but that be steals only from other thieves *and* would rather avoid violence, makes him the hero of his game. Fortunately in Ralph's movie, everything turns out well for him in the end.

Cartoon of the Day: Daniel Voyager at Bay City

Taken at Bay City. Eventually it had to happen. Mentioning to my friend and landlady Rita Mariner that Daniel Voyager was around in his "Bugs Bunny" avatar, she showed up as Lola Bunny, his romantic interest in the movie "Space Jam."

Looks like "somebunny's" getting some attention. ;-)

For those who have never heard of the old "Bloom County" comic strip, Bill D. Cat always looks like that. But you wonder what gave him that look.

Steelhead's "Scooby Doo" Party

On Friday night, September 15th, the Steelheads held a "Scooby Doo" party. It was held on the outskirts of their community in a usually abandoned building in the St. Helens sim.

Along the wall were a few pictures of the cartoon, as well as a few doors that when entered would lead to another door in the opposite side of the room, like the some of the cartoon's chase scenes. The party was held in honor of the show's debut on September Friday the 13th in 1969.

People were invited to dress up as characters of the cartoon, or as ghosts and monsters. Some girls showed up as Velma and Daphine. More often, dancers chose going as one of the monsters that bedeviled the mystery solvers. This included one dragon who could play one mean set of drums.

Fuzzball Ortega was the DJ for the party, which was also attended by his partner Eugine Nurton Ortega.

Everyone had some scary good fun that night.

KlausWuffenback Outlander, aka Baron Klaus Wuffenback, of Steelhead gave a lecture on Steampunk in Second Life at the SL9B. Among the lines in the dialouge were these used when referencing "Professors Philip and Kaja Foglio," the personas of the artists behind the "Girl Genius" online comic, of which one of the characters is KlausWuffenback's namesake.

Guess the Baron sees the comic references as amusement, which would probably get chuckles from the fans.

Cartoon of the Day: Relay for Life

During the Relay Walk, one of the themed laps was the "I can't believe I'm doing this," which involved wearing avs you normally wouldn't. One teammate went out looking like an anthro Pokemon, or a "Pikachick." And another, well, someone call the Ghostbusters.

The Walk was a success last night. By the time of the Luminary hour, a season total of $350,000 US dollars had been raised. And it's still going on until Noon SL time.
