Applications Open For Halloween Shop and Hop (Last Day Sunday)

 

It's not even September, and already Linden Lab is getting ready for the spooky season in shopping. Pm Friday August 14, the Lab announced they were accepting applications from merchants interested in taking part in the Halloween Shop and Hop. 

 

The Halloween season is creeping up on us once again, and so is one of Second Life’s biggest shopping events! If you’re a Content Creator, now’s your chance to conjure up your best items and reach thousands of shoppers across multiple regions.

 

Those interested need to fill out a Google doc form (here).  As with previous Shop and Hop events, participating sellers need to offer a 20% discount on all items on sale, plus offer a free gift to any shopper regardless if they're in the store group or not. It either must be a new product, or a gift card worth at least 300 Linden dollars. All products, and store decoration, must be rated moderate (No nude succubi or other clearly adult Halloween-themed monsters and items). Nothing political is permitted, and stores cannot be used to promote items at other events. 

 

As the poster above states, The event runs from Friday October 2 to Sunday November 1. The merchants have three days from September 25 to 28 to set up their shops. 

 

The deadline for store owners to apply is Sunday August 23.

Linden Lab Updates Marketplace Policy In Regards To Inactive Merchants

 

 

On Wednesday August 12, Linden Lab announced on it's blog that it had updated it's Marketplace policies. This was in regards to inactive merchants and items that are not selling.

There is now a "Product Unlisting Policy"

If a Merchant has not logged in for one year AND a specific product has not generated a sale in one year, that individual product listing will be automatically unlisted from Marketplace.

This policy applies only when both conditions are met.

If a Merchant has not logged in for one year AND a specific product has not sold in one year, that product will be automatically unlisted.

The Lab would add unlisting by itself "does not delete the product, the listing data, or the merchant account. The product is simply disabled from appearing for sale on Marketplace unless reactivated later by the merchant."

 

 There is also a "Store Disabling Policy"

If a Merchant has not logged in for two years AND their store has not sold anything in one year, the entire store will be automatically disabled.

The Lab would add this disabling of a Marketplace store, "does not delete the merchant account, products, or store data. The store is simply removed from active Marketplace visibility unless later reactivated by the merchant."

The policy enforcement will be aided by "a new automated monthly review process that identifies inactive products and stores based on account activity and sales history."

To keep products actve, the Lab encouraged merchants to "Review older or lower-performing listings periodically," and "Refresh product listings, images, descriptions, or pricing to help improve visibility and sales activity." They added, "Active merchants and actively maintained products will not be affected by these changes. Accounts will not be affected by these changes."

EOTB: Applications Being Accepted For SL23B Shop & Hop

 

For merchants wanting to take part in the Second Life Birthday Shop and Hop event, good news. Yesterday on April 30, Linden Lab announced it was accepting applications for the shopping event. 

 

For those interested, business owners wanting to be part of the event need to fill out an application on Google Docs (here). The SLB Shop and Hop will last for the duration of The Birthday, Thursday, June 18 thru Sunday, July 19. The setup itself will be from Friday June 5 to Monday June 8. Merchants are required to have all items in their store discounted by at least 20 percent, and have at least one available as a gift to anyone, or a gift certificate worth at least 299L, reguardless if they're in the store group or not. Politics is to be avoided, and items not for sale at the store cannot be advertised. 

 

This year, the Shop and Hop sims will be in two areas, one General-rated, and one Adult-rated. So those wanting to be in the Adult area can request it. Those wishing to be part of the General-Audience area need to keep their items and decor fit for the sim rating.  

 

Applications for the Shop and Hop need to be turned in earlier than other SLB applications, by Sunday May 10. Volunteers, Exhibitors and Entertainers need to turn theirs in by May 18.

Applications Being Accepted For Valentine Shop and Hop

 

It's not yet Christmas, and people are still shopping at the stores for gifts. But already Linden Lab is getting ready for February.  On Friday December 12, Linden Lab announced it was accepting applications for the Valentine Shop and Hop.

 

We are thrilled to announce the early opening of applications for the 2026 Valentine Shop & Hop!

As we prepare for an extra special Valentine’s event, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic Creators ready to join the celebration of love ...

Merchants wanting to take part will need to fill out a Google Doc (here).  They will need to offer at least 20 percent off on items on sale at the stores. They will also need to offer a new gift for shoppers, regardless if they're in the merchant's group or not, or a gift certificate worth at least 300 Linden dollars. No adult items are permitted, nor are political themes. Also, applying does not guarantee approval.

 

 The Valentine Shop and Hop will run from Friday January 30 to Monday February 16.

EOTB: Call For Merchants For Christmas Shop And Hop, Ends November 2

 

It's not even Halloween, and already Linden Lab is getting ready for Christmas. Yesterday on the official blog, the Lab announced they were accepting applications for those wanting shops in the 2025 Holiday Shop and Hop.

 

 Halloween may still be spookily lingering, but we’re already brewing up plans for the festive season! We’re excited to announce the return of our highly anticipated Holiday Shop & Hop event. Mark your calendars for a spectacular shopping extravaganza starting on December 5th, 2025, and running through January 4th, 2026. Get ready for a festive shopping experience like no other!

 

 Those merchants interested need to fill out a form on Google Docs (here). The following conditions apply:

 

* Merchants are required to provide a NEW non-group gift.
* Merchants are required to have at least a 20% discount on ALL items present at the Shop and Hop location.
* Items need to be appropriate for a moderate audience and adhere to the Linden Lab ToS.
* Content should not contain or reference political issues or figures.
* All items displayed and/or advertised in the Shop and Hop store MUST be for sale at the Shop and Hop for the duration of the event. This means you can not use the Shop and Hop to promote items for sale at other events. 

 

The setup period is Nov 5 to Dec 1, and merchants will be asked what they sell the most of and it is reminding that applying does not guarantee a spot.

 

The Lab would remind people that the Halloween Shop and Hop is still going on, and invite people to check it out.

Those signing up will need to agree to their items at the store being offered with at least a 20 percent discount, and one free gift to anyone regardless of whether they're in the store's group or not. The gift must be a new one as well. If a gift card is offered instead, it must be at least 300L. 

 

No items rated adult can be offered, and nothing with political themes, or politicians, is permitted. The store cannot also be used to promote items at other events. And for those wanting to take part, signing up does not guarantee a spot.

 

The deadline for signing up is Sunday August 24.

SL22B Shop and Hop

 

 Besides the main Second Life Birthday celebration, there's a parallel event that they can take part in, the SL22B Shop and Hop. 

 

With 480 shops across 24 sims, there's a lot for a shopper to go through. The goods here are discounted here at least 20%, and have at least one free gift in each shop for everyone whether or not they're in the store group or not. 

 

For those on the lookout for friskier there, four of the sims are adult rated and separate from the others with adult-rated shops and goods. But across all the sims, there's plenty of decoration to go with the Second Life Birthday's Myths and Legends theme.

EOTB: Linden Lab Announces Appications Being Accepted for SL22B Shop and Hop

 

For merchants interested in taking part in the Shop and Hop for the Second Life Birthday, the SL22B, good news. Yesterday on Thursday May 1, Linden Lab announced it was accepting applications for the shopping event.

 

The SL22B Shop & Hop event is the official multi-region shopping event of the 22nd annual Second Life birthday celebration. This event brings together many of the top merchants for exclusive items and discounts on some of the best creations in Second Life. 

 

Those merchants wanting to take part need to fill out a application on Google Docs (here). 

 

The shops will be set up from June 6 to June 9. All merchants will need to have at least a 20 percent discount on all goods, and have a free gift available for shoppers regardless if they're in the store group or not.  While there will be a separate Adult-themed area of shopping sims, the rules state no adult-rated items can be offered for sale anywhere, and the shops cannot be used to advertised goods outside the Shop and Hop. No political references are allowed. And while previous Shop and Hops have involved hundreds of merchants, people signing up are asked to understand that they are not guaranteed a spot.

 

There's not much time to sign up. Applications close on Sunday May 11. This is about a week before applications for performers,  exhibitors, and volunteers is Monday May 19.

Valentines Day Shop And Hop Opens Today

 

Yesterday, Linden Lab announced that the Valentines Day themed "Shop and Hop" shopping event would be opening today, Friday January 31.

The 2025 Valentine Shop & Hop is almost here with 280 participating merchants across 14 shopping regions. All are offering their best to inspire your Valentine's fantasies from a romantic evening with your bae, to a party with your friends, and everything in between. You will definitely find something to suit you! 

 

As the announcement stated, there's fourteen sims with almost three hundred stores, with plenty of romantic-themed items. Each store has at least a 20 percent discount on it's wares, maybe more on some, and there's at least one free gift for shoppers whether or not they're in the store's shopping group, or a 300 Linden dollar gift certificate. 

For those wondering, all of the sims are rated Moderate. There is no separate area for adult-themed stored as there was in the recent past.

Holiday Shop and Hop Starts Today

 

 

 It's time for the biggest shopping event in Second Life this Christmas season, the Holiday Shop and Hop. Starting at 9AM Friday December 6 (today), residents can hop on over and shop away.

 

This is a huge shopping mall consisting of 16 sims, with 320 stores. Beside the shops, there's numerous decorations to give the place a festive feel. 

 

"Every store will have at least a 20% discount on all items and a free (non-group) gift for shoppers or a gift certificate valued at L$300 or above!"

 

And you'll never know just who you might run into.

It may still be August and the time of summer heat and vacationing on beaches. But Linden Lab is already looking forward to the cooler season of autumn, and Halloween. On Friday August 16, they announced they were accepting applications for the Halloween Shop and Hop shopping event. 

The Halloween season is fast approaching and our annual multi-region inworld shopping event is coming back. If you are a Content Creator, this is your chance to spook up some sales and reach a large audience with your creepiest and coolest creations!

Those interested in taking part and getting a store at the event need to fill out a form on google docs (here). Participating merchants are required to have a discount on their items in the store, at least twenty percent off, and have at least one gift available to shoppers, whether they're part of the store's group or not. It should be a new one different from previous Shop & Hop events. And the store and items should be appropriate for a Moderate-rated area, and there should be nothing political.

The application form won't be available for long. After Sunday August 25, it will be taken down. It should be noted that applying doesn't automatically mean one is in, the Lab saying they will contact you soon after the date "if your application is accepted." The setting up period is from September 27 to 30.

The Halloween Shop and Hop will start on Friday October 4, and is scheduled to last to Sunday November 3rd.

On Monday May 6, Linden Lab announced it was accepting applications by merchants interested in taking part in the Second Life Birthday's "Shop and Hop" shopping event.

 

The SL21B Shop & Hop event is the official multi-region shopping event of the 21st annual Second Life birthday celebration. This event brings together many of the top merchants across SL for exclusive items and discounts on some of the best creations in Second Life.

Last year for the SL20B, for the first time there were two separate shopping areas, with a smaller one with adult-themed shopping sims. It will be the case again this year.

Those interested in opening up a store at the SL21B Shop and Hop will need to fill out an application on Google docs (here).  Setting up will take place from June 7 to June 10, and merchants are required to give one free gift out for people, regardless if they're in the store group or not. And there has to be a 20% discount on all items. Political references are to be avoided. The shops themselves cannot be used to promote items available only at other locations. And applying does not guarantee a spot.

 

Merchants interested in taking part only have a few days to apply. The deadline to apply to be a part of the SL21B Shop and Hop is Sunday May 12. 

 

The theme for this year's SLB is "Elements."  And for those interested in setting up an exhibit, applications are currently being accepted, but there are only a few days left to do so, until Sunday May 12. For those wishing to be volunteer staff, applications are also being accepted, also until Sunday May 12. For those wishing to be performers, there is more time for applications to be accepted, until Friday May 31.

There are typically four "Shop and Hop" events a year: Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day, and the Second Life Birthday.

 It's not yet Christmas, let alone New Years Eve. But already Linden Lab is getting ready for February 2024. Yesterday, Thursday December 14, Linden Lab announced that it was accepting applications for the Valentine Shop and Hop, but only for a limited time. 

 

While the festive cheer, twinkling lights, and echoes of holiday celebrations still continue, we are thrilled to announce the early opening of applications for the 2024 Valentine’s Shop & Hop!

As we prepare for an extra special Valentine’s event, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic Merchants ready to join the celebration of love ...

 The event itself will from from Thursday February 1st to Tuesday February 19. Merchants interested in taking part are asked to fill out a Google Docs form (here). Like previous Shop and Hop events, stores will be required to discount their items at least 20 percent and have at least one free gift available to residents coming by, regardless if the person is in the store's group or not, or offer a free gift card worth at least 300 Linden dollars. Merchants are asked to tell the Lab what they primarily sell.

 

What's different about this Shop and Hop is that Linden Lab wants to put the spotlight on merchants offering items for their new line of Senra starter avatars, "This year we will also be highlighting designers who are creating for our new Senra mesh bodies. To be considered a Senra designer for the Valentine Shop and Hop, you need to have at least 2 items available at the Shop and Hop for Senra bodies. Special consideration will be given to Senra designers when applications are being reviewed." The days merchants have to set up their stores are January 25 to Jan 28.

Some might note that the picture on Linden Lab's announcement shows a furry couple. Maybe the Lab is trying to appeal to this particular demographic, or in that it's showing a feline/canine couple trying to say that love can bring very different people together.

A few days ago in the official blog, the Lab announced they were taking applications by merchants wanting to take part in the Halloween Shop and Hop. But, there's only a short time for those interested in signing up to do so.

The Halloween season is fast approaching and our annual multi-region inworld shopping event is coming back. If you are a Content Creator, this is your chance to spook up some sales and reach a large audience with your creepiest and coolest creations!

The 2023 Halloween Shop & Hop will open on October 5th, and will run through November 5th. This is your opportunity to bring a ton of new customers to your brand, by offering some of your best items. We are looking for Merchants willing to offer a discount on their items (at least 20% off) and provide a new non-exclusive gift to shoppers.

As stated, sellers will have to offer discounts of at least twenty percent off their items to all customers, regardless of if they're in the merchant's group or not. All items need to be either General Audience or Moderate in Nature, with nothing Adult rated, and politics is to be avoided (no Trump or Biden Halloween masks or anything of the sort). And the store cannot be used to promote items at other locations. 

For merchants interested in taking part, click on the link for this Google doc. You will be asked things such as the majority of items you sell and when you last took part in a Shop & Hop event. People have until Sunday August 20 to fill it out. After that, it probably won't be accepted. The Lab reminded applying does not guarantee a spot. The setup period is from September 28 to October 1. The event runs for one month, from Thursday October 5 to Sunday November 5.

SL20B "Shop And Hop" Open

 

 

 For those who love to shop, like finding a good buy or hunting for freebies, or both, then there's an event going on just for them. The SL20B "Shop and Hop." Part of the Second Life Birthday celebrations, it began at the same time as the SLB sims were opened: Thursday June 22 at 10AM SL time.

The SL20B Shop & Hop is almost here - and this year it is bigger than ever! The grand unveiling to the public is slated for Thursday, June 22nd at 10am PT, and this year we're pulling out all the stops with an expanded array of merchants, sprawling shopping regions, and a treasure trove of gifts!

 

And there's a LOT of places to shop from. There's a total of 24 sims with nearly five hundred stores to look around and buy from. And this year, some of the stores have adult-rated items. The main area has 400 stores in twenty sims, and the adult-rated area is four sims in size with eighty stores. Items in the stores are discounted at least 20% from their normal costs, though some places are offering up to 50% off at least one item. They also have one free gift available.

EOTB: SL20B Shop and Hop Now Open For Applications (For A Limited Time)

 

 One of the features of Second Life Birthday celebrations in the past several years has been the shopping event, the "Shop and Hop." And this year for the SL20B is no exception. On Friday May 5, Linden Lab announced it was accepting applications from those merchants and store owners interested in taking part in the SL20B Shop and Hop. 

The SL20B Shop & Hop event is the official multi-region shopping event of the 20th annual Second Life birthday celebration. This event brings together many of the top merchants across SL for exclusive items and discounts on some of the best creations in Second Life.

New this year we are offering two types of Shop & Hop regions, Moderate rated regions and Adult rated regions. 

Are you a merchant or creator that wants to participate? If so, then please fill out this form by May 14th. We will be filling in stores as we receive applications so please apply sooner rather than later.

This year's Shop and Hop is different this year compared to previous ones. As mentioned, this time there are two separate shopping regions. One is for shops offering items for general audiences. The other is for shops which are offering wares of a definite adult nature. This will be the first Shop and Hop, SL Birthday involved or otherwise, this has happened. 

 

As before, merchants will be required to offer at least one free gift available to anyone and not just to those in the shop's group.  All items must be discounted at least twenty percent. Political references are to be avoided. The shops themselves cannot be used to promote items available only at other locations.

It should be noted that like with many other Shop and Hop events, time is short for interested merchants and shopkeepers to sign up. Applications must be turned in by May 14. And applying does not guarantee a spot as there are only so many. 

 

The SL20B Shop and Hop will take place from Thursday June 22 to Tuesday July 11.

 For those who are already missing the Christmas "Shop and Hop," or looking forward to Valentine's Day, good news. On the Linden Blog yesterday, the Lab announced they were accepting applications for the Valentine Shop and Hop, though just for a few days.

While many of us are still recovering from the winter holidays, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and our shopping itch just won’t go away! 

Linden Lab is winding up for a Valentine’s Day inworld shopping event - and we’re now looking for Merchants who would like to participate.

Merchants wanting to take part need to fill out this Google Docs form. Among the guidelines are having to provide at least a twenty percent discount on their items, and at least one free gift that anyone shopping at the store can take whether or not they're in the store group. There can also be nothing political or any adult-rated items (sorry, no adult beds either). 

Interested merchants will need to be quick. They have until Monday January 9 to sign up. Applying does not guarantee one will be given a space, and those who are have until Thursday January 26 to Sunday January 29 to set up their stores.

The Valentine Shop and Hop is from Friday February 3 to Sunday February 19.

There's a joke in America that while the Christmas season has traditionally started on the day after Thanksgiving, stores can't wait to start having Christmas sales as soon as the last Halloween trick or treater goes home, or even sooner. While this may or may not be the case in Second Life, just as the Halloween season was coming to an end, on Monday October 31, Linden Lab announced that it was now accepting applications for the "Holiday Shop and Hop." But, the time to apply is brief.

Change is in the air...can you feel it? Halloween is almost over and Winter is fast approaching! We are gearing up to celebrate the holiday season with our annual Holiday Shop & Hop, which will be held from December 8th, 2022 through January 2nd, 2023.

Applications are now open for Creators who might want to participate in this year’s event, which will feature multiple shopping regions and tons of festive fun!

 

Merchants interested are asked to fill out a Google Docs form (link). Those wanting to take part have to discount their items at least twenty percent, and need to have at least one free gift available to anyone, regardless of if they're in the store group or not. Items for sale must be moderate-rated (no Adult-rated goods), and they "should not contain or reference political issues or figures."
