 From the Bellisseria Citizens Group HQ. I did a cartoon like this years ago, a furry mouse playing with a pet kitty, but couldn't find it.

Taken at Bay City's Food Truck Festival. Among the trucks there was one with wheels of cheese. While real mice prefer grain over cheese, no doubt this much would get a furry mouse's day rolling.

EOTB: New Last Names

 

On the official blog a few days ago, Linden Lab announced a list of new last names available for residents to change to.

Happy Autumn! Thank you for all the suggestions sent in for future last names through our Last Name Suggestion Form. 

Today we are doing another big last name refresh by removing some of the older last name options and adding the following new ones from your suggestions:

The new last names are Mouse, Victis, Wheel, Pudding, Demure, Nightwish, Fledermaus, Whisper, Pooh, and Velvet.

Of Demure, it may or may not be because of a popular meme going around on social media, "very mindful, very demure." Of "Mouse," that may get the attention of some who prefer small, or furry avatars.  "Fledermaus" might get the attention of bat fans.

 Originally published in the Second Life Newspaper on July 21, 2009. I forget exactly where I took this picture, possibly at the Second Life Birthday. But it fit my Luskwood "Bunkies" mouse avatar just fine. 

We sometimes joke that Linden Lab servers run on hamster wheels. If they did, maybe they'd use energy drinks instead.

With it's small size, plus the ears and tail decorations, the little car has gotten some positive comments in some Second Life group chat. I decided to get one to see for myself. Crew Meeting

From the Newser crew meeting on Saturday January 6. From left to right, Deaflegacy in her new bunny avatar, Alura Denver (Alura Messing), Bixyl Shuftan (myself), Gemma Cleanslate, and Shaza Denver. This was our attempt at posing for a new crew picture for 2018, but things didn't go quite right. We'll try again soon. Besides this, we also talked about possible articles and stories for the month ahead.

Alura had a little pet with her. "They change often," she told me. So we may see another next time, and we won't have to worry too much about leaving cheese on the floor around her.

Final Day of the Fantasy Faire

Yesterday was the last day of the RFL Fantasy Faire. For a week, thirteen fantasy themed sims have been up and available for the public to go about on for events, shopping, or just admire the builders' handiwork. While the sims will still be up for a few more days, it was still the last day for events. The Newser came across two.
