Fairelands Quest Part Two Open

When the Fairlands Quest was finally available to play last Saturday, only part of it was available to play. On Thursday May 2, the second part was finally available. Presumably, one can find it in all of the locations the first part was placed.

For those who already have the quest, the second part is free. Just touch the sign to get the package, then add and click. You'll be using the huds and attachments in the folder for the quest from here on. Even if you haven't finished the first part, the huds from the Part One package no longer work.

Officially, the Fantasy Faire will last until tomorrow, Sunday May 5. But it's a safe bet the sims will remain open for a few more days, and therefore the quest still playable.

And of course besides the quest, there's a lot of great scenery to see. I've heard some people wish the places would be on for much longer, if not permanent.

So don't forget to check out the Fantasy Faire, or return if you've already been there.

On Sunday January 15 at 1PM SL time, various members of the Relay for Life in Second Life met at the Relay d Alliez sim. They were celebrating the announcement days earlier that following the results of the Christmas Expo, the Relay for Life in Second Life had raised a total of over three million US dollars since it began in 2005.

These pictures had been posted by Luna Portilo (Luna Vonrandolf) from Foundation For Life on the Relay for Life in Second Life's Facebook page.

SL Newser Editor in Sci-Fi Serial "Spectral Shadows"

For some time now, Perri Prinz, my friend and neighbor of the SL Newser office in HV Community, has been given me a cameo appearance in her "Spectral Shadows" sci-fi serieal novel. In one of the more recent chapters, The character named after and based on me, gets quite a surprise from one lady. Who is she and what does she want with the fox reporter? Check in the chapter to find out.

As it turns out, Spectral Shadows may soon be on hiatus. Perri has several more chapters finished or close to being so. But lately it has become quite tiring to write certain scenes. She posted recently on Facebook, "Sadly things are not getting any better for me as far as my ability to continue writing is concerned. It is still taking me far to long to get into a state where I can work with the story ... Hopefully at some point I will regain my health ..."

Perri did put up a Pateron site to help support her site, but so far it's only gotten a little support. In real life, Perri has been under no shortage of pressure on several matters, and feedback from readers, even if it's a simple, "I like your work" matters a lot.

Hopefully things will be improving for her soon and her work continues.

SL Newser Editor in Sci-Fi Serial "Spectral Shadows"

It was some months ago in which my friend Perri Prinz, known as a science fiction writer as well as a first class DJ, gave me a cameo appearance in her science fiction serial novel "Spectral Shadows." As it turns out, his role isn't a brief one, but he'll be in another story plot. Here he is in a scene in which he gets to his apartment, checks his mail, and gets to the last envelope.

Now what could that letter be that has the fox reporter so concerned? Read the chapter in Spectral Shadows to find out (link).

Steelhead Winter Festival

Last Friday over Steelhead Nevermoor, there was a winter-themed event at the fairy dance circle, their Winter Festival. The circle was all frosted in ice and snow, and a number of locals showed up for the event.

Steelhead leader TotalLunar Eclipse, and his partner Tensai Hilra, were among those who took part, dancing in the cold, snowy scene.

Fuzzball Ortega did the music for the event for the first couple hours. Willow Leafstorm, the location's owner, performed for the third.
