Various Halloween Places

 

Halloween is fast approaching. And while people have been getting into the spirit of the season for a few weeks, things are getting truly spooky now. Some are wearing scary and spooky avatars. Some are going to Halloween-themed events. And then there are the Halloween places. By all means there's too many to list all of them. But we can mention a few. Here, Bixyl Shuftan takes a look at several across Second Life, some of which offer activities.

There's a LOT going on around Second Life this Halloween, too much for us to do a review on it all. Plus there are other things going on, such as the closing of one mental health support group and the opening of another. We're still going to write up on a few more Halloween haunts. October is here, and it's time for Halloween season. This means plenty of spooky and scary places across Second Life. Gemma Cleanslate has been on the lookout for them. In her second article, she writes about a few more spooktacular places to visit. That is, if you dare. It seems some are just, dying, to stay for good.

Linden "Creepy Crawl" Today

Since 2015, Linden Lab has held a "Creepy Crawl" event in Second Life every Halloween. And this year marks the fourth. On Monday afternoon, Xiola Linden posted the schedule in the official blog. The event will go over eight locations in four hours.

The Creepy Crawl inworld starts THIS Wednesday, October 31st at 10 am SLT, and you don't want to be left out in the dark! The full schedule is available below, and in the Destination Guide.


10 - 10:30 AM : Tagus, Tagus (110/152/30)

10:30 to 11:00 AM : Bay City Fairgrounds : North Channel (128/128/24)

What A Halloween

Halloween is loads of fun, not just outside of Second Life but in. There were the Halloween haunts, the Halloween parties, and the "Creepy Crawl" with the Lindens. All holidays have to end, but the stories told and pictures published go on. But it takes a little time to write the stories and put up the pictures, so give us at the Newser a little time.

There's a lot of Halloween haunts across Second Life. While we've been checking some, there's just too many to write about. So to give you a chance to see some we didn't have the time to stop by, here's a list of haunts made by a Carolyn Avro, starting with her own. While not every single place is a scare, you'll find plenty of frights on the list.

Mieville Haunted Nawlins

Gemma Cleanslate's tour of Halloween places took her to spooky place called "Mieville Haunted Nawlins." Resembling a haunted version of Mardi Gras, there's a parade of floats and many of the buildings down the street have a New Orleans kind of charm, in a spooky way. But there's much more to see and do, including freebies to grab, and frightful things to see.

It's almost time for Halloween. Besides the many costume parties across Second Life, there's also plenty of Haunted Houses and other haunts across the Grid. Bixyl Shuftan only had a limited amount of time, so he just checked out a few to review.

Eye On The Blog: Second Life Haunted Highlights and L$10,000 Snapshot Contest

Second Life is holding a contest for the spookiest picture. Linden Lab is sponsoring the "Fa-BOO-lous Halloween Snapshot Contest," in which those sending pictures can win up to 10,000 Lindens. Pictures are submitted, and displayed, in the Second Life Forums.

Every day is dress up day in Second Life, but now is your chance to win some cool prizes for it.

Aged elegance is re-animated in DeadPool, a new experience ripe for exploration. Watch as the bygone disco days rise again! Zombies roam the overgrown and wistful spaces of a forgotten amusement park, see the old roller-disco flash and strobe while amazing DJ's pump dance-worthy beats. Skate around the fringes of the party if you're too afraid to chance in the park. Remember, zombies hate fast food, so get those wheels greased and ready to go.

Halloween Town is full of shops for all of your Halloween needs. From party, food, costumes and more. Be sure to enter their spook house where you'll turn from spectator to participant as they pay tribute to the greatest horror of all time.

"Happy Halloween!" booms from a pumpkin-headed boy from a dark alcove. "Trick or Treat and welcome to RMK Gothic. I am Jack, the ghost living in this town!" It must be the Halloween season at RMK Gothic, come visit for spookily-themed quests, stores and more.

More Halloween Haunts on the Grid

Halloween is almost upon us, but there's still time to check out more spooky fun places on the Grid. Some are simple thrills and chills, but some like "The Flesh Game" and "The Mullbery Harbor" have impressive backgrounds and offer to unnerve even the most jaded of residents.

Le Magique Haunted House

Found out about this haunted house at Le Magique and Goth Magique.


Not too complicated, just a house filled with thrills and chills, although there are a couple places you may want to jump or rush forward.


The haunt is at Le Magique (46, 40, 41).
