EOTB: No Land Setup Fees For December, Holiday-Themed Last Names

Yesterday in the official blog, Linden Lab had a couple announcements. For those interested in getting sims, the Lab has an early Christmas present. They stated that there would be no setup fees for sims purchased in December.

Premium and Premium Plus subscribers will pay no setup fees for any new regions purchased during the month of December. Only pay the first month’s maintenance fee and move right in.

Also, the Lab also announced new last names, Christmas-themed ones.

Tinseltail
Elf
Mistletoe
Gingerbread
Noelle
Claus
Blitzen

The Lab stated the names are up only "for a limited time," though may be back next year.

Comparing this months list of names to the original list in April 2020, only a few names remain:  Atheria, Huntsman, Voxel, Littlepaws, Takeda, Dallas, and the option to change to the generic "Resident."

Press Release: HFOT Donations November 2020

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah to each and every one of you.  And it is becoming an excellent holiday season!  On the anniversary of that infamous day at Pearl Harbor, I am excited to announce we just sent Homes For Our Troops $1500 in the month of November.  So our totals now for 2020 are $14750 and we have now beaten 2019!  With one more month to go let’s cap this crazy year of 2020 off in style.  I say we can hit $17000 this year.  Let’s do this!

Jamie Crossman, Manager of Individual Giving at HFOT had this to say regarding our efforts in 2020:

"Happy Holidays!  I hope this note finds you well.  Thank you so much for all of your ongoing efforts to Homes For Our Troops.  As 2020 comes to a close, we are excited to report that despite the pandemic 23 Veterans and their families received the keys to their forever homes, thanks to your efforts.  We have also just completed our bi-annual Veterans Survey to see how they are rebuilding their lives since moving in to their specially adapted custom home. Each month in 2021 I will be sharing these results along with my message of thanks.  For now here is one we are extremely impressed with:  Because Veterans are now safe and able to be independent in their homes, the employment rate for their spouses/caregivers increased by 285%!  This wouldn't be possible without your generosity.  Please accept our extreme gratitude for your efforts! "

And once again we have many folks to thank.  Kudo’s go out to the performers and their managers who once again gave it their all for this cause.  Thank you:

Waya SnowpawDJ
Stratus Mactavish and his manager DancinGigi

And last but not least thank you Bri Mcmahon and Gjackie Winker for your help and support at our monthly benefit at Veteran’s Isle.

In this holiday season please say some prayers for our good friend Dahlea Milena who is now fighting cancer.  We pray she beats this and is back with us soon.

Have a fantastic Holiday Season everyone ….I hope to report back to you in January that we increased our donations significantly in what has one been one crazy year!

Bellisseria Land Expansion To South

It's been a few months since we last talked about new areas in the Bellisseria continent. When I last dropped by in very early December, I hadn't noticed any major changes. But it seems since then, the Moles have been very busy.

The land that was originally planned for the south has finally been filled in. But the terraforming didn't stop there. The Moles made a huge extension to the south, dividing it from the north and central lands with a river. When the first land of the new continent was placed, while it was enabled to sail from the continent of Jeogeot to the south to it, it took a lot of ocean. Now just a couple sims separate the two continents.

Besides the continental expansion, a number of islands have also been placed. Some of these are for houseboats, including another "pickle" island. And there are various smaller islands which were placed for scenery.

Looking around, the new land not only had houses and houseboats, but some already had people inside. Looks like at least some of this new area has already been open for Premium residents to grab.

So what's next for Bellisseria? Hard to say. The Lab could easily make a new continent and/or houseboat islands to it's east. But the area has already attracted a number of residents whom have been banding together into a community. The new continent has been Linden Lab's biggest success this year. What they'll try for 2020, it'll be interesting to see.

Nuyu Modtacular Gacha Event Moved Up To December

A few days ago, the Newser reported on the upcoming Nuyu Modtacular Gacha Event in Montecito Bay. Originally to take place from the first of November to the 30th, it was announced the event has been moved up to December. The new dates are December 1 to December 31.

We have decided, after some careful consideration, that the NuYu event should be pushed back until DECEMBER! That way, we're not stepping on any toes from the Gacha Guild, and it gives our lovely creators some extra time to work! Your deadline to join is STILL October 15th! See you there!
