"Busty Belles" Club Wrecked, But Rebuilding

 

A few months ago, the Newser wrote about the owner of the "Busty Belles" club, Jodi Eyre passing away. Despite her loss, the handover and continued operation of the venue went smoothly. 

 

Talking to Frost Beam (JD013 Resident), someone on the staff with build permissions leveled the place when they weren't getting their way, "the co-founder ... nuked it, when we were waiting for them to make up there mind on a few issues." A couple days later, the situation was better, "Mostly needing the help getting stuff, like the beach back up and we have our GM working on building new rental homes. On top of the co-founder taking the building the club was using, he also took the clubs beach and all the rental houses which had some people living in them. ...  I wasn't expecting himm to take all the rentals (frown) That made me feel really bad for making people homeless.

"My GM Tiffany had to rush build the new building for the sets.  But I think we still need some for other parts on the club, like the beach and the homes." Frost was optimistic, "When a founder or co-founder up takes the building a club is in, that normally spells out the end of it. We are still here, still rockin, and always welcoming in people. I kinda of treat this place like my home, and my staff and patrons are like my family." One nearby dancer, Domino Sorbet Presley (DominoPresleyTS Resident), commented, "Yah good thing we had hurricane relief. Whether we are here or somewhere else we won't quit."

 

So Busty Belles won't go bust any time soon.

 

On a final note, later this month on the 18th, Busty Belles will host a Making Strides fundraiser, a "Pink Ribbon" event, starting at 6PM SL time.

"Tempura Project" Bringing Back Look And Feel of Closed Sim

 

 Good news for fans of the recently closed Tempura sim. A team of fans is rebuilding the area. Or rather, making a new place, "The Tempura Project," with the same look and feel of the old one. The new area in Sweety Bay is still a work in progress, but much has already been done. Besides looking around, I had a few words with the land owner and head of the team, Tribish Tammas.

New Crux Avatars On The Way

Some avatars come and go. Others retain a following. Among the later is the Crux. Despite having been around in Second Life for over a decade, this unusual avatar retains a following among a number of residents. Sovereign Wolf (Angelina Shen), whom is skilled at mesh content making, decided to take it upon herself to update the avatar using mesh and bento. Cyfir heard about her efforts, and interviewed her about her project.

The Happy Vixen's Grand Reopening

A week ago, the Happy Vixen beach club was closed for a few days for remodeling. By Tuesday, the work was all done, and the club held it's "Grand Re-Opening" event, with DJ Tantari spinning the tunes. A number of pictures of the event were taken, a record of the club and the people there having fun that night.

Happy Vixen Reopens After Remodeling

 Last week, the Sunweaver/Angel's beach club, the "Happy Vixen" was closed for a few days while the club was renovated to give it a new look. Part of the reason was the make the club slightly larger due to a little more space available.

The club is jointly owned by Nydia Tungsten and Helios Auxifur, with Helios owning the land. Jasmine Dawn and Ranchan Weidman were the ones who rebuilt the club in in it's new form. The club and hangout consists of a main building built over the shoreline on peirs, which itself comprises a dance floor and DJ booth and a two story roofed area with a bar and hot tub. A few smaller wood surfaces were built over the water next to the main building, with walkways bridging them. On two are a couple games, "Greedy" and "Cards Against Humanity." Some rocks with waterfalls are also in the water, a palm tree growing out of one having a wicker seating area hanging from it, able to hold several people. There's also a raft where a couple can lay, in addition to a lounge with overhead sheeting.

On Memorial Day yesterday, there was an impromptu gathering as Nydia tried out her radio stream. But the official Grand Reopening is tonight at 6PM SL time, when DJ Tantari Kim plays her selection of music for the crowd.

The Happy Vixen was inspired by the "Angels Beach" club, also owned by Nydia, which was around from 2009 to 2010. The venue got it's start as a beach shop in 2011, which soon had a dance floor and DJ booth built next to it by Treminari Huet. In November that year, the club was expanded following the closure of the Raised Tail Resort club (which has no connection to the adult club named Raised Tail). Since then, the club has been renovated several times. most recently in August 2015.

Raglan Rebuilding

Just in time for it's ninth anniversary, the Raglan Shire area, the home of Second Life's best known "Tiny" community, is getting a makeover. Last week, the sim the community gets it's name from was closed to the general public as older structures are taken down, and new ones, apparently to be built on huge trees. Zayn Till gave some details via Facebook on April 1.

So with only one more day until EVERYTHING is cleaned off the Raglan Shire sim, just a reminder to our amazing Merchants on the sim that everything must be taken up and into your inventory including any physical buildings that you may have built on the grounds.
Tomorrow while Bunneh tornadoes fly across the sim, there will be a Grand celebration on the central grassy grounds of Raglan Shire that we have dubbed:

Come to Raglan Shire for the Shindig, hear some great live music and watch everything around you disappear as we prepare to turn the sim over to NIL & THE CATS™ Sunday as the New Tree City begins to be placed down and the entire sim undergoes Transmogrification!

While the community as a whole was  excited to see what was to come, some locals had mixed feelings. Peach Lartel posted on Facebook this picture of a mock protest, "I'm not leavin.' "

Yours truly went over, and panning above, yours truly saw some of the crew, a few in hard hats, working away. Work was far from finished, so by now, no doubt the place looks much different from what I saw then.

Yours truly will soon be back for another look at Raglan. The Raglan Shire community has a reputation for industriness, low drama, and no shortage of humor and general wisecrackery. It should be interesting to see what they come up with.

The New Sunny Beach

There's been some changes in one of the sims that make up the neighborhood where the Newser's office makes it's home: Sunny Beach. And the one whom ended up in charge of these changes was none other than the Newser's Becky "Sha" Shamen, after a friend of hers moved in and needed a little help shaping his new land. Becky describes some of the new features and attractions she built in giving the sim it's new look.

"Flesh Dreams" at Burn2 by Ub Yifu

Gemma Cleanslate's been busy with her ranger duties at Burn2. But she did have enough time to write about one exhibit that stood out: "Flesh Dreams" by Second Life artist Ub Yifu. In his work, Ub took Burn2's theme of "Cargo Cult" and gave it a different perspective. While the events ended on Sunday, the exhibit will still be up a few more days.

Club Zero Gravity Closed for Renovations

The space club Club Zero Gravity is closing it's doors to regular events, at least temporarily. Designed by Ranchan Weidman, the club was and remains a great design of a space station. But it's not without a few bugs. Over time a few regulars have commented the floor, designed to allow for quick finding of dance animations, has a tendency to hide avatar tails and parts of outfits. So Ranchan stepped forward to fix that. She also offered to renovate the overall structure, to make it seem bigger.

So for now, the "party among the stars" has turned out the lights. But only temporarily. The renovations should take just a few weeks. In the meantime, the beach club down below in the Purrfection sim, The Happy Vixen, will be having its events a couple hours early during Zero-G's timeslot while Ranchan works. So regulars will not be missing out on the music and fun. It will simply be "planetside" at the beach instead of in space.
