Veterans Fundraiser Raises Almost 90,000 Lindens
A week ago on Sunday July 26, Veterans Isle held their monthly benefit concert. The event, organized in part by singer Frets Nirvana, had several performers, mostly live musicians.
Here we are again folks! It is time for this month’s Homes For Our Troops benefit. Waya Snowpaw is already cooking up great tunes to kick the event off. And what a great event it is gong to be! Check this lineup out …
Ways Snowpay DJ 4-5 PM
Idella Quandry 5-6 PM
Paul Nowles 6-7 PM
Twostep Spiritweaver and Dennymac Dial stream 7-8 PM
Wolfie Starfire 8-9 PM
As the DJ and singers played for the crowd, people donated money to two house-shaped kiosks on either side of the stage. On occasion, Frets or someone else would challenge the audience to donate a certain amount, then matched it when it was.
At the end of the event, 89,350 Linden dollars had been donated.
Veterans Isle usually holds these benefits on the last Sunday of every month, exceptions usually being holidays. The money goes to the Homes For Our Troops charity.
