Nydia Tungsten's Angels' Beach Land Rentals

Nydia Tungsen in Second life is a great person when you get to know her. Warm funny and caring and she seems gifted on how to run a business and sims. She put a lot of great care and hard work into making her Angels' Beach Land Rentals a great place to rent a place to call home. I visited her one day and chatted with her wanting to hear more about her estates. She said humans are welcome just like furries like me.

For one thing you’re not stuck with ho-hum housing With 11 sims there’s lot of variety of places to call home. One is the Southern Colorado sim set in a beautiful environment. Here you can rent a wonderful house for 1,750 per week or 7k per month. A great way to hold a dinner party or live in glamor you could even hold a small dance party and have room left over for beds and board games. Also on the bottom of the Southern Colorado sim there were drums to play with. Nydia was saying it’s really fun to play with them with 4 or 5 people at once.

Sherkin Island and Furrection are sims for humans and furries who want a place to call home but aren’t looking to spend a lot of linden. For 800L per month you can own a parcel to create a house. Don’t have a house? Nydia can give you a house on the house. As an added bonus Nydia’s partner Brandi has a custom texture shop where she adds textures to vehicles such as cars and motorcycles called “Brandi’s Custom Painting.”

Another great feature is Nydia does her best to keep out any greifers off her sims. The result is a friendly environment on the Sherkin Island sim that Nydia guided me around. I was greeted by warm and friendly people like Sabeen Schmidt and Helios Auxifur. The next day I asked Helilos was it okay to play a board game at her house, and she said it was fine.

Nydia is a reasonable person as well if you’re behind of your weekly or monthly rent she can work something out with you. On top of that from what I understand Nydia is also a caring person to talk with, so if something is bothering you don’t be shy. You can talk to her and she’ll make you feel better.

I talked with the residents of Sherkin Island and they only had positive things to say about Nydia. Helios Auxifur said, “And yes I’ve tried to bring a few friends here. The trouble has been almost everybody I know on SL already has a spot somewhere.” Sounds like Helios wants to share the positive friendly environment with others.

If you want a place to call home in the pixel universe of Second Life check out Nydia’s Angels' Beach Estates I’m sure she can find the right home just for you.

Club Zero Gravity to Close

Yesterday on Sunday August 7th, Nydia Tungsten informed Second Life Newser that the space club Club Zero Gravity would be closing it's doors to regular events "until further notice." She cited real life events beyond her control as the reason for the decision. Club Little Dove, which is in the Southern Colorado sim, will be taking over its events for now, it's events being sponsored by sim owner Daaneth Kivioq.

Due to some financial setbacks, I will have to close the club for awhile until I know more of what will be happening. Thank you for the great times and I am looking forward to more great times as soon as I know I am more stable.

In recent weeks, Nydia has been organizing a "Club Alliance," which has attracted a number of clubs, such as Perri Prinz's Green Meadows Ballroom (aka Perri's Xanadu) which joined yesterday.

RFL: The Redheads' "Last Blast"

On Thursday night 6PM SL time in the Southern Colorado sim, the Passionate Redheads Relay for Life team got together for one final event of their own for the Relay season. Dubbed "The Last Blast Party," it was to celebrate their fundraising this year, in addition to looking back on the fun they had. The event was sponsored in part by KVXN Radio.

Daaneth Kivioq was the DJ for the event, and with the walk around the track so much on their minds, most of the songs he played were about walking. The tunage included Phil Collins' "On My Way," "Footloose," "We Did the Walk of Life," Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again," Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line," and Elvis Presley's "Blue Suede Shoes," and "Never Walk Alone." Someone had a birthday, so the Beetles' song "Hey Hey, It's Your Birthday" was also played. And a team favorite, "Calypso."

Probably a total of two dozen attended the party, more than a dozen at any one time. Further donations for the Relay were accepted instead of tips, many of which came from purchases of a Passionate Redheads' calendar, made by Timber Wolfenhaut, whom also had the privilege of taking all those pictures of the girls in their swimsuits. Also for sale for charity was a cookbook. And the awards won by the Redheads were also on display, such as the gold and platinum awards.

As 8 PM neared, Daan played one final song, in honor of Artistic Fimicloud, with fireworks going off overhead, illuminating the "Little Dove" blimp overhead, "Run for Life"

I run for hope, I run to feel

I run for the truth, for all that is real

I run for your mother, your sister, your wife

I run for you and me my friend

I run for life

And after that, the Redheads went their seperate ways, some looking forward to next season. Over 5,000 Lindens were raised at the "Last Blast."

Sothern Colorado Turns Purple

On Monday May 9th, I got a message from Daaneth Kivioq to meet him in Southern Colorado. Getting there, I was met by him, micro Lomgren Smalls, and my bunnygirl neighbor Sabeen. Moments later, we were greeted by a blonde lady thr group called “Kitty “ for short.

As the sim rezzed, I noticed something was different. Daaneth then greeted me in voice, saying in honor of “Turn the Grid Purple” week, he had his Southern Colorado sim colored purple.

It was, strange, almost surreal, the colors at sunset and sunrise fairly striking. Daan and we talked for a little bit. Daan reminded us he was slowly getting beter, and looked forward to being at another event.

The sim will presumably return to normal after Friday the 13th.

Passionate Redheads to Hold Cinco De Mayo Party for RFL

Today at 5 PM SL Time, the Passionate Redheads will be having a party at the Southern Colorado sim. The event will be having a Cinco De Mayo theme.

Dusk Griswold will be the DJ for the event. No word yet on who supplies the beer and drunken animations.

Cinco De Mayo, Spanish for Fifth of May, commemorates the victory of the seemingly outclassed Mexican forces over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5 1862. French Emperor Napoleon the Third had sent the army over in an attempt to establish an Empire in Mexico. The holiday isn’t largely celebrated in Mexico outside Puebla, but is mostly celebrated by Mexican-Americans in the United States.

The event will be held at the Enchanted Forest, Southern Colorado (98, 170, 51)

A Message From Daaneth Kivioq

Earlier today (Sunday May 1st), I was contacted by Daaneth Kivioq, by way of a voice chat. He asked me to teleport to Southern Colorado, saying there were a few things he wanted to explain.

Getting there, still in voice, he told me he wanted me to pass a message on, "I'd like to thank everyone. I can't begin to express how grateful I am to have to have such a bunch of friends. I couldn't have gotten through this without Sabine (McGettigan) ... I am so grateful to have her here. ... I'd like to thank Shockwave for his kind offer to pay for the sim. Southern Colorado is not going anywhere. It has automatic payment set up."

"I'd like to explain what happened. The stroke, it was a complete shock. The hardest part, you don't know what you really lost. The ability to type, that's a hard problem. There's no way to describe it. It hits you like a hammer without warning ... I had the presence of mind to stay conscious, call for help. One of my good friends was around to help me. ..."

The connection began to go bad, and Daaneth told me he had to go, saying he was very much looking forward to meeting up with everyone.

I couldn't see Daan's av at all, and he himself told me he could only see a cloud. But the important thing was our friend was on his way back.

"Getting stronger, every day."

Southern Colorado Sim Due to Vanish

When Daaneth Kivioq of Relay for Life’s team “Passionate Redheads” suffered a stroke earlier this month, team members gave their support to their stricken comment in both well-wishes and an event held in his honor. But a few raised one question: “What happens to Daaneth’s sim, Southern Colorado?”

Sad to say, it seems the sim’s days are numbered. Talking to team leader Sabine McGettigan and team member Nydia Tungsten, the sim was paid for another month, but after that nothing, “More renters on the sim would otherwise help, but without a way to get them into Daan’s ... account, there’s just no way.”

Southern Colorado has been the location of a number of Relay for Life events by the Passionate Redheads, from weekly meetings, to music and dance parties, and more. Nydia’s zeppelin club, Little Dove, is there, as is Fimi Falls, named after a Redhead whose battle and end to cancer continues to inspired teammates, many whom know her only by stories.

If you’ve never visited the sim, by all means do so. There is much to see there, including the rental village sometimes overlooked by Relayers heading to events. But what draws many are the falls, which were one of the favorite locations of the late Artistic Fimicloud.
