Press Release: Fashion Fair 2026

Fashion Fair 2026: Where Fashion Meets Hope

The Seekers of Hope Relay For Life team is proud to present Fashion Fair 2026, a multi-team fundraising event benefiting the American Cancer Society, running February 21 – March 1, 2026.

Presented by Seekers of Hope and sponsored by Fire Within and Kilikobo Shores & Beach, Fashion Fair 2026 brings together creativity, community, and compassion in a celebration of style with purpose.

This year’s event will showcase more than 30 fashion designers from across the grid, representing women’s, men’s, and dinkies fashion. Shoppers and attendees can look forward to a dynamic schedule featuring fashion shows across all categories, along with daily entertainment designed to enhance the shopping experience and create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.

Fashion Fair is more than a shopping event — it is a statement of unity and hope. Every purchase made during the event supports the American Cancer Society, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the cause, helping fund cancer research, patient support programs, and lifesaving initiatives.

✨ Where fashion meets hope.
✨ Because together, we make hope beautiful.

Fashion Fair 2026 invites the community to come together — designers, performers, shoppers, and supporters alike — to prove that style can make a difference and that hope is always in fashion.

RFL Sunbeamer Moon Dances Begin

Thursday February 20 marked the day for the first event of the Relay for Life season for Team Sunbeamers, the first Moon Dance which takes place every week until the Relay Weekend.

Team Sunbeamers Moon Dances has started tonight.

A benefit for the American Cancer Society! We are pleased to announce that flights to Sunbeamer Base on the moon will resume tonight Feb. 20, 2025. Dances will be again at the usual times of 6 PM to 8PM SLT. Operations will continue every Thursday until June 5, 2025 You arrive at Sunweaver Space and grab a seat in the Columbiad Moon Cannon to be shot to the moon. There once you land on the lunar surface you ask for a kiosk in your team's name if you don’t see one already. It will be planted and dance a celebration of your moon landing with other teams. Tunes provided by a Live DJ who is not taking tips! Wants you to tip the kiosk instead.  Come rep your team and if your not on a team then just pick a team and help them. Sunweaver Space (96,104,48)

The Moon Dances have become something of a Sunbeamer tradition. Taking place in Sunweaver Space every week during Relay season, Thursdays from 6 to 8 PM. Normally DJ Cynthia plays the music. It is a multi-team event, sometimes called BYOK - Bring your own kiosk. Actually, it's more "request your own kiosk," as one of the team will rezz one on request for someone representing another Relay team. The kiosk in question remains up as long as at least one of the team is present.

And quite a number showed up. Several were Sunbeamers. There were also a number from "Roos With A Dream," another fun-loving team the 'beamers often team up with in events. A number of other teams had at least one member, Icer of Team Dragon Heart making a big impression. There were also some from new teams present.

And there were the jokes. When Team ACTS was mentioned, it was brought up how their fundraising would zip by other teams, and Cynthia started playing the "Road Runner" song. One of the 'Roos then switched to a Wile E. Coyote avie.

Then there was Shockwave in his astronaut outfit. There was the girl who rezzed some balloons and floated when "My Beautiful Balloon" was played. There was when someone did a waffle rezzer and filled the air with more waffles than a Raglan Shire anniversary. And more that there's not enough time to mention.

At the end came the closing song, "I Run For Life," and fireworks lit the sky, with the Relayers praising one another. It was a great conclusion to the first Moon Dance of the 2025 season.

The Relay Rocker's Annual Bid Me Bald Team Challenge

The Relay Rockers team in the Relay for Life in Second Life is known for a number of things. Among them is their "Bid Me Bald" events.  On Sunday April 14, their Annual Bid Me Bald Challenge, an event they did with eleven other teams, with someone from the winning team giving a haircut to someone from the team that raised the least. So in an event in which even the "loosing" team raised thousands, how much was raised and who gave a haircut to who?

Relaystock Begins Today

While some Relayers are still a little sad about the closing of the Fantasy Faire, "the show must go on." And so the various teams are getting ready for the next big event: The Relaystock. This tribute to the Woodstock festival in 1969 will have DJs and live performers from Friday May 13 (today) to Sunday May 15. While the event is hosted by the Relay Rockers, it is a multi-team event with dozens of team campsites.

It’s a weekend of Peace, Love and Hope, Great Music and yes, lots of MUD!

Once again The Relay Rockers invite everyone to join them May 13,14,15 for RelayStock 2022, a multi team Relay For Life of Second Life event.

The event will feature ‘Team Sites’ around a 60s style festival stage. Relay teams are invited to bring Kiosks and Vendors, host 2 hour DJ segments on the stage or invite live musicians to perform.

There are, on average, 40 – 50 Relay For Life teams that participate each year!

Relay "Bring Your Own Kiosk" Event

The "Monday With The Roos" event by Relay for Life's team "Roos With a Dream" on April 20 at an Australian-style pub proved interesting. They made it a "BYOK" or "Bring Your Own Kiosk" event. And so people from other teams came over to place theirs. Even though it was a small sim with a capacity of  25, in which a couple others with Premium accounts hopped in over the limit, a reported ten kiosks for ten teams were there. Bain Finch would say over group chat, "Think the Roos got a record. 10 kiosk BYOK with 17 people here.."

Matt Carlton, representing the Sunbeamers, was there. And thanks to her, the team got an extra few thousand, plus a few pictures from her sent to the Newser. Among them, a picture of some green goo being spewed onto the floor. Matt would wonder if this was "pea soup," and if there'd be a scene from "The Exorcist" soon. Each team there got at least 2000 Lindens, the Roos getting over 10,000 L.

Multi-Team "Bid Me Bald" Event By Relay Rockers Ends

From Wednesday April 8 to Sunday April 19, the Relay Rockers hosted a multi-team "Bid Me Bald" event at Arinultra Cay. Finally on the last day at 4PM, the final totals were tallied.

Relay For Christ L$41,857

Relay Rockers L$20,000

Cure Chasers L$17,660

Cancer Gets Stung L$16,000

Roos With A Dream L$13,161

Mieville Steampunks L$11,912

Heroes Helping Heroes L$11,000

People Are Rainbows L$10,500

Team Wishing Star   L$10,304

As Arizona Ballinger put it, "Woooot! Awesome 'Bid Me Bald Challenge' ending .... Total L $152,394." "Congrats Relay for Christ," Sienna Thor would add for the team that got the highest total.

The captain of Team Wishing Star was not around.  Arizona would say, "Team Wishing Star will be bald until June 6, 10am slt. Unfortunately she could not be here today due to illness. We will cut her hair on return." But not wanting to disappoint those who came for a haircut and shave, she took her place in the barber chair, with the team captain of Relay for Christ handed the scissors. One remarked, "Can Leelee be trusted with scissors? Or are we all in danger?" "Just hair, Leelee. no ears eyes or noses!" But Arizona took it in stride, "I never had a mermaid cut my hair before."

After the fact, as Arizona would say in group chat, "I stood in and Leelee cut my hair!  No band aids needed!" Nuala Maracas would comment, "Having a little mermaid floating around with scissors and doing a hair cut, it was touch and go on the band aids for a bit (laughter)."

While the multi-team Bid Me Bald is over, the Relay Rockers have another event soon, the Relaystock. This is another multiple team event, including Team Sunbeamers, that's a salute to the three day music festival in 1969.

Today is the final day of the multi-team Relay event "Bid Me Bald Game On, Cancer Team Challenge." Taking place in Arinultra Cay and organized by the Relay Rockers, several teams are putting their virtual hair on the line as they compete to have Lindens donated into their kiosks there, and the team in last place goes bald. I had a few words with Trader Whiplash of the Rockers about the event, and he had a few things to say.
