A Sunweaver Christmas Miracle: Fundraisers Save Home From Foreclosure

On Friday December 23, there was a fundraiser event at Club Cutlass. The usual two hour Friday night event was turned into a six-hour marathon as five DJs played music to the crowd. A few days before, Perri Prinz had come forward saying she and her partner Recoyote Mindes were facing a real-life eviction due to their landlord both raising the rate and moving up the date of their next payment from the middle of January just after after Rec's paycheck would come in to the first, and they had exhausted their savings.

Tonight we are having the Battle of the DJ's benefit for Reco and Perri, if you can't make it here, please drop what you can here!  https://paypal.me/RECoyote

The final idea was for a "Battle of the DJs" going from 4 PM SL time to 10 PM, with six tip jars placed just in front of the DJ booth, and the dance poles beside it. Five were for the DJs, the six for Perri Prinz where people could donate to her any time. To avoid taking a cut when buying Linden dollars, there was also the option to donate directly to Rec via Paypal. The five DJs taking part were Alexandra Tymets, Mattie Carlton,  Snowy HunniBunni Lefavre (Skylark Lefavre), Cynthia Farshore, and Perri Prinz herself.

There were a few issues, miscommunications, and snags along the way, which was no surprise as there were just a few days to get everything ready. Paypal itself was also an issue as they had supposedly enacted a rule in which they could heavily fine users for posting "misinformation" online, and hours later revoked it. But with the home of a neighbor at stake, the event went through.

DJ Lexi started things off at 4 PM SL time. Next at 5 PM was DJ Mattie. At 6PM was DJ Snowy, playing at her usual time slot. at 8 PM was DJ Cynthia. And DJ Perri closed things off at 9 PM. The themes for each set were Christmas, or some variation of it such as "Country Christmas" or "Rockin' Christmas." Club owner Rita Maniner would put prizes of 1000L on each of the two boards for each set, one session getting 2000L. But winners would usually donate all or part of their winnings to Perri's jar, as well as the DJs donating what they were tipped.

By 10 PM, a little over 76,000 Lindens had been raised at the Cutlass fundraiser. This was a little more than $300 USD before the Lab would take a cut. By itself, this was less than half of the $860 USD needed. But people also sent in money through Paypal, including one who wished to remain anonymous who told me he sent $500, which Perri confirmed. "Yes we did," Perri answered when asked if enough had been raised, "My poor math skills put the total at $1,435.77." This was much more than what was needed. Perri told me she would likely use the extra money to help with future medical expenses.

Once again the Sunweavers came through, and demonstrated the good that virtual worlds can accomplish.

Addition: Perri won the "Battle of the DJs," followed by Mattie, then Snowy.

Fundrasing Event Tonight at Club Cutass For Recoyote Mindes and Perri Prinz

This week, the Sunweaver community found out two of its residents are in trouble. Recoyote Mindes and Perri Prinz become a real-life couple when they moved in together. But a few days ago they got some very bad news. When Rec made the payment on their mortgage, he was told that the time of payment was being moved from slightly after the middle of the month to the first, and they had just a short amount of time to come up with the money: $860 USD.

We need your help!
Reco and Perri are facing a financial emergency!

Perri Prinz: REC came home from paying the rent saying they are not only raising the rent, but they are insisting he pay on the 1st some the month, when he knows he doesn't get paid till the middle of the month, and we have no savings to come up with an extra month's rent, which is what we need to beat this eviction trap. The rent is $860.

As you can see they need our help ASAP, if you can donate cash GREAT! If not we will be having an event this Friday to help them raise lindens more info on that coming soon!
Please help us perform a Christmas Miracle!

As plans started coming together on what to do, it was decided to hold a fundraiser event at Club Cutlass. Right now, the schedule is for five DJs to perform from 4 to 10 PM. The idea is for people to either donate Linden dollars or make direct donations through Paypal.

If you can spare some money, by all means come by and give a little.

Xanadu's Grand Reopening

On Thursday June 17 at 6PM SL time, the Xanadu classic rock club reopened it's doors. For months, the club had no regular events as the owners dealt with real-life issues, though would play some impromptu ones. Finally, all was set to go.

Starting at the top of the hour it's the Xanadu Grand Re-Opening with DJ Christine playing various tunes on the theme of opening and starting over.  We have a spectacular new dance machine you can click as you walk in the door.  A new trivia machine.  A new lighting system.  And the sploder will be loaded.  Contest is come as you are, and we hope a good time will be had by all.

A number of partiers showed up, mostly from the local Sunweaver community, happy to see Xanadu in action once more. As advertised, there was a trivia ball answering some rock music-themed questions, some easier than others. Some were using a new dance ball, one that didn't have the people who clicked on it dancing in place but moved their position as it had them dance in synchronized patters.

At various points, hearts and soap bubbles filled the air. Then at one point, someone requested "We Didn't Start The Fire." To which DJ Christine responded over the radio she'd see about that, and the floor went aflame, looking more like "Disco Inferno."

Currently, Xanadu has two weekly events, Thursdays from 6-8PM and Saturdays 8-10PM. The club is looking to hire more DJs and hosts, and other staff.

Xanadu is co-owned by Perri Prinz (whom is also one of the DJs) and Recoyote Mindes. It is a member of the FCA, and located at HV Community (67/207/4051).

Club Xanadu Reopens

Good news for fans of Club Xanadu. After a break of several weeks, the club will be reopening. Owned by Perri Prinz and RECoyote Mindes, the club has recently gotten a new manager to help schedule events, Kit Drago.

The club is doing three events over two days this week, Friday from 4-6PM and Saturday from 4-6PM and 6-8PM, but that may soon increase. DJ applications are being accepted.

Club Xanadu Reopens

Last night at 8PM SL time, November 6, Club Xanadu opened it's doors to a regular event for the first time in over a year. And a number of people dropped by the classic rock club, some from the Happy Vixen which had just finished it's Tuesday night events.

Cynthia Farshore was the DJ for the club's Grand Reopening, with the setup behind her looking like one huge collection of records.

Perri Prinz and RECoyote Mindes, the cowners of the club, were out on the dance floor with the crowd. The music went on for two hours, Cynthia's last song being, "The Party's Over" by Journey.

"Thank you for coming and making the re-opening of Perri's Xanadu a success!"

Club Xanadu is located at HV Community (67/207/4051).

Xanadu Grand-Reopening Tomorrow

After a period of inactivity, the "Xanadu" classic rock club will soon be back in business. Perri Prinz, the current co-owner and manager, announced the club will have four events this week, starting with a Grand Re-Opening party on Tuesday at 8PM SL time. The theme will be "Come As You Are."

Xanadu, sometimes called "Perri's Xanadu" or "The Vinyl Museum," was established in 2009. It is owned by Perri and RECoyote Mindes, and is named for the movie in which the Pan Pacific Auditorium is restored to a nightclub. There have been a few periods of hiatus when real-life interfered with the management, but the building has always stood there since it's construction. Among some of the more noteworthy events were the Newser's Fifth Anniversary party and the "Fallout Party" in which Perri played tunes from the time period the game gets much of it's music. The club went inactive in July last year.

Currently, Perri is looking for more DJs, and an assistant manager. For now, it's schedule is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8-10PM SL time.

Scenes From Second Life: "Tooned In"

Taken from the "Tooned In" event at Club Cutlass on January 13. This Road Runner avatar was donned by none other than RECoyote Mindes. So this would be the first time that the Roadrunner and the Coyote would be wrapped up in one package.

Xanadu Reopens

For over a year, Club Xanadu, the classic rock club high above the HV Community sim in the Sunweaver area has been closed. Last Sunday, it finally reopened to a crowd happy to see it once again running. There was music, dancing, special effects, and joy that the beloved club was once again active.

Fundraiser For RECoyote Mindes Totals Over 190,000 Lindens

It's been a little over a month since RECoyote Mindes announced he was in financial trouble due to paying his ill mother's medical bills. Sadly, she would later pass away. To help out Rec, Nydia Tungsten would organize three fundrasing  efforts, a party in which those attending were encouraged to contribute to a tip jar which raised over 22,000 Lindens, a "Tail Sale" which raised over 87,000 Lindens, and finally a "Personal Pin-up Benefit Auction" that has apparently netted tens of thousands of Linden dollars. Besides these, there have been some individual donations. The final auction ended on Friday March 3, and over the weekend, Nydia announced the results.

January was a month of Sadness for our dear friend Reco,  he suffered a terrible loss, so we took the entire month of Feb to help him, all of you turned out to show your love and support for our Reco, and thanks you to you all, we are able to present him $191,765L's,

Reco, we did this because we love you, and you have done so much for all of us. We do love you.

Nydia would later state, "If anyone is wondering, and I calculated this out right, that is equal to $708USD." REC was something at a loss for words, "This will really help me catch up."

Time and time again, the Sunweavers and Angels have shown as a community they have demonstrated how they come together to help one another, as Rec did in the past by helping a couple people in need of better computers get them, and reduce the tier of the sims. And now Rec in turn was helped in his hour of need.

Fundraiser at Happy Vixen Nets over 110,000 Lindens, "Personal Pin up Benefit Auction" Announced

It's been a trying time for RECoyote Mines, one of the members of theSunweaver/Angels community. In the past, he had helped a few of it's members get new computers, as well as helping the land owners lower their tiers to Linden Lab by paying the fees. But recently he announced his mother was very ill with cancer, and had exhausted his savings. So Nydia Tungsten began organizing a couple fundraising efforts at the Happy Vixen beach club. On Tuesday January 31 was a special double event in which those attending dropped over 20,000 Linden dollars into a special tip jar. Also started at the Happy Vixen was a "Tail Sale," in which people stopping by could bid on two dozen volunteers for a date, or some other special service such as building, drawing, or writing.

Thursday February 9 was the last day of the Tail Sale, and during the two events scheduled that evening, people dropped by not just to dance but make the final bids. People continued to remain after the scheduled events were over, and each of the boards was closed at a random time over the next few hours. The results were impressive. A total of over 87,000 Lindens had been raised in the Tail Sale, with four women getting bids of 10,000 or above: Ranchan Weidman, Alleara Snoodle, Brandi Streusel, and Matoazma Kazyanenko. Four more would get bids of 5000 Lindens or more: Nydia Tungsten, Dusk Griswold, Jasmine Dawn, and Mystic Xurina. Combined with the contents of the tip jar, which had gone up to close to 23,000 Lindens, plus the sales of the outfits made by Brandi for the purposes of raising funds for the event, and a few other donations, the result was 112,543 Linden dollars, or about $420 USD.

I want to thank you all for your help in helping raise money for our dear friend Reco, and with this first event alone we have raised $112,5111 L's total  THANK YOU ALL

But Nydia and the Happy Vixen club aren't done yet. Sadly, RECoyote's mother had passed away, which means funeral expenses. So she began organizing a "Personal Pin up Benefit Auction." While similar to the calendar auctions Nydia has held in the past, these would be for personal photographs of the volunteers and winning bidders. At most, these pictures can only be tasteful nudes with nothing more than a hug or cuddle.

Yes we just had one, but funerals are so very expensive, our friend Reco  still needs us, so we are having one last event, come bid on these models for the chance to have your own personal sensual photo shoot that goes no where but to YOU! so this is a one of a kind photo for your own collection.

If you didn't win in the first auction your chances are better now.

Several people have volunteered for this second auction, some from the first one such as Nydia, Brandi, Matoazma (pictured), and Mystic, and a few whom weren't in the first. So if you're interested in a picture with one of the models, head over and made a bid.

RECoyote Mindes' Mother Has Died

It was a week ago that the Newser announced that RECoyote Mindes was in financial trouble due to his mother coming down with cancer. But over the weekend, her health took a turn for the worst. Last night, he explained the news to me and requested I explain things for him with a statement to the Sunweaver community.

I was just talking with RECoyote Mindes. To begin with, he is VERY grateful for the support you all have shown him, and could not ask for a better group of friends.

Unfortunately, the news from behind his computer is not good. Although his mother's treatments were breaking up the cancer in her lungs, she was declared brain-dead on Sunday and that evening was taken off the respirator. On Monday 10:40AM she passed away.

He wasn't sure how to break the news to everyone, until now. He thanks you for your continued support.

There was a fundraising event on Tuesday to help REC with his expenses that raised 20,000 Lindens, and the kiosk was left there and people are still donating. There is also an ongoing "Tail Sale" with two dozen men and women volunteering, located at the Happy Vixen at the Purrfection Estates (236, 219, 24).

It's a sad time for the Sunweavers as a valued member whom has helped many now finds himself in mourning.

Fundraising Event Raises 20,000 For RECoyote Mindes, "Tail Sale" Set up.

From 4PM to 8PM SL time last night on January 31, the Happy Vixen hosted a double event to help raise funds for it's friend RECoyote Mindes, whom sadly has come onto hard times. The first two hours had the music played by Rec's partner Perri Prniz. For the second half, the dynamic DJ Tantari took control of the booth. When the event started, 5,000 Lindens had already been donated. By the time Tantari played her last tune, a little more than over 20,000 Linden dollars had been raised.

But this is not the last of the fundraising. Nydia Tungsten's call for volunteers for a "Tail Sale" would result in about two dozen men and women stepping forward. Besides Nydia herself, those putting themselves up on the auction block include Brandi Streusel, Scentuallust, Alleara Snoodle, DJ Tantari, and yours truly whom is willing to write an article on a subject of the winner's choosing as long as it falls within Newser guidelines (safe for work, no unnecessary drama) and is limited to 1000 words or less.

Fundraising For RECoyote Mindes Today

Today at the Happy Vixen, there will be a couple things different at the club. One is the addition of Brandi Streusel's latest line of clothes up for sale, the proceeds going to help out RECoyote. The other is the special tipjar, the money given to that also going to REC. Nydia Tungsten told the Newser that she plans to give out some of the clothes to donors. The event starts at 4PM, and ends at 8PM, with two DJs, Geerkil and Tantari.

A "Tail Sale" is also being planned to help out REC. So far, several people have stepped up. Today is the last day people can step up to take part in it.  People can made bids on the volunteers from February 1 to 9, with the winners tallied near the end of the day. Those interested in volunteering IM Nydia Tungsten.

RECoyote Mindes Fundraiser Event Tuesday Jan 31, Brandi's Intimates Selling Items

Yesterday it was announced that the Happy Vixen would be holding a "Tail Sale" to raise funds for it's friend and neighbor RECoyote Mindes. Details have also been made available about another fundraiser. The club's normal weekly events on Tuesday will be changed slightly for a benefit, the tip jar taking in funds to help out their community's benefactor last year, whom is now in need.

Also at the club, Brandi Streusel of Brandi's Intimates, known to her fans as "Brandi's Panties," is putting up several items of clothing up for sale, the proceeds of each going to help out RECoyote. Like a number of her other products, these are of a rather cheeky nature (some of which we can't show on the paper's front page).

The benefit on Tuesday January 31 runs from 4 to 6PM with DJ Geerkil, and 6 to 8PM with DJ Tantari.

So to help him out, we are doing a tail sale. It starts Feb 1st and goes on to Feb 9th, where the winning bids will be declared. We need tails to auction as well, so if you would like to be in the auction, please IM  Nydia Tungsten to get the application.

RECoyote Mindes' Mother Ill With Cancer, Donations Needed

As a trucker in real life, RECoyote Mindes, or "Rec" as he's known to friends, has been a man of few words, letting his actions speak for him. Long known for being the coowner of Perri Prinz's Xanadu classic rock club in HV Community, more recently he's been known for helping out his fellow Sunweavers. He helped out two residents by buying them new tablets and computers (one of whom passed down her old equipment to a third resident when her machine went down). He helped the Sunweaver and Angel sims by paying the fees to Linden Lab to acquire them the "grandfathered" rates, which meant lower rents for the tenants.

Behind the trucker is a real life family, and his mother has fallen ill with cancer. Nydia Tugsten posted the news last night as a group announcement.

Reco's Mom went into ICU Saturday.  They're now there with her. Small cell cancer in her lungs, brains and a couple other places.
She is on her second day of kemo today, one more day of it they will need to wait at least a week to see if the mass in her lung breaks up.

Reco, we are all here for you, if you need anything, let us know and we will help in any way we can.

Earlier today, RECoyote had this response.

Ok, I do need help. This has used up all of my money and I can use any money any of you can spare me. Please help.
paypal recoyote@pld.com Thank you y'al.
Please help if you can

Now the one who has helped many finds himself in need of help. Those who have some cash to spare are asked to help out a little.

Once again, the requested donations can be sent via Paypal to recoyote@pld.com .

Reader Submitted: Veterans Day at Cutlass

Friday Night was the Veterans Day event at Club Cutlass. Cynthia Farshore was the DJ for the event, playing songs that were tributes to certain battles, such as the Battle of New Orleans in 1814, to songs that had been sung by the soldiers of the Mexican and Civil Wars, but recorded only years later when the technology existed, to songs made during the World Wars, to rock tunes of the 60s questioning the Vietnam War, to songs about 9/11 and recent conflicts in the Middle East.

Near the end of her set, Cynthia, herself a Navy veteran, called the others whom had served in the military: RECoyote Mindes, Shockwave Yareach, and Zorro Wuramunga, up to the front of the dance floor. She would take this screenshot while they four were standing there.

Sunnny Awards Night at Cutlass

Last Friday, it was a night for the Sunweavers to honor five individuals whom had helped out the community. The reason for the event was one individual whom had recently stepped up several times to help out certain individuals, in addition to helping Rita Mariner and Nydia Tungsten with paying the fees to Linden Lab to get tier reduced, and therefore lowering the rent for everyone. But as the person was starting to feel a little embarrassed for feeling singled out, instead of just honoring him only, four others were also named to share the stage with him in an award ceremony.

Sunny Award

RECoyote Mindes has become quite the hero in the Sunweaver community in recent days. Besides helping the Sunweaver and Angel sims by paying the fee to Linden Lab to lower their teirs, and therefore lower rents, he's helped two members by getting them computers and high-end tablets designed for artistry. One of them, the Newser's Becky Shamen, felt that a simple felt that a simple thank you was inadequate. Her idea to acknowledge REC's contributions: the Sunny Award.

Sunweaver Estates to Lower Rent Thanks to "A Special Coyote"

About ten days after Linden Lab announced their limited time offer to reduce sim tiers for a fee, it seems the Sunweaver and Angel Estates have now been able to take advantage of it, thanks to the generosity of one of the residents.

RECoyote Mindes, whom owns a place in the estates along with his partner Perri Prinz, communicated with Rita Mariner and Nydia Tungsten, and offered to take care of the fees Linden Lab was asking for, Rita announcing the details.

I got confirmation that the tier on Sunweaver Bay and Sunweaver Isle has been successfully reduced.  Thanks to a gift from a special coyote.  As soon as Nydia and I can discuss the level of rent reduction, I will put that immediately into place on my sims. ...

I have discussed it with Nydia, and for the time being the rent reduction I have put in place will stay.  All of you will see a rent reduction of between a couple hundred to several thousand lindens in your rent, depending on the amount of your parcel.  I Hopefully have hit all the affected rent boxes,  If I missed any, please inform me, I'll take care of it.  Enjoy your savings, courtesy of RECoyote.

Chatting about the deal with others, all of the Sunweavers I talked to were very happy with RECoyote, or "Rec" as he's usually called here. The gratitude did not necessarily extend to Linden Lab, the overall  feeling was the Lab offered the deal not out of goodwill to their customers, but was simply a calculated business decision of theirs, a couple reminding me that past experience with the Lindens has cost them what good will they have toward those who run Second Life, saying what kept them here were the friends they made here. One had some doubts the larger land barons would pass their savings onto the customers. Someone else responded there could very well be some increased competition for renters if it was seen some estates weren't lowering their rates or not lowering them much.

This hasn't been the first example of Rec's generosity as he's recently helped a couple neighbors, both of whom have contributed to the community as well, one with a new computer and another a high-end tablet designed for doing artwork. A couple residents mentioned they were planning on giving Rec a small token of their appreciation. The details of which will be revealed once he sees it for himself.

A fine example of a neighbor helping out his virtual community.
