There is an interesting convergence of three major technological trends: big data, AI, and virtual humans. Big data are transforming science, scholarship, and virtually every other aspect of the modern society. AI may be the most transformative technology ever, and it can help us discover complex phenomena hidden in the big data, that humans alone cannot grasp. Finally, virtual humans operated by AIs may be the most intuitive and natural ways for the human-AI interactions.
