On Sunday March 27, Veterans Isle held it's monthly benefit concert. The event, organized in part by Frets Nirvana, raises money for the Homes For Our Troops Charity. The event had several live musicians, and one DJ, performing from 4 PM to 9 PM SL time.
Tonight is the night folks! We are kicking off our spring effort for Homes For Our Troops in Second Life and we have a great lineup of performers that are sure to give their all for this important cause. Come on out and help us reach our target of 150,000 lindens for HFOT ...for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Waya is spinning some great tunes right now! Up next is Zachh Cale at 5 PM/. Take a look at this lineup:
Zachh Cale 5 PM
Erin and Satin 6 PM
Noma Falta 7 PM
Grace Loudon and Wes West Dual Stream 8 PM
The event took place in the USMVC Special Events hangar, high above the sim. At one point, the place was so packed, I froze and crashed when dropping by. Later on, I had better luck and got a few pictures. As the performers sang for the crowd, the audience donated cash to two house-shaped kiosks on either side of the stage. At the end, 170,131 Linden dollars had been collected.
Afterwards, I had a few words with DJ Waya Snowpaw. He was happy with both the attendence that night, as well as the Newser's coverage of the event over time. With a friend of his nearby, sporting a bathroom plunger, he rezzed a motorbike with a toilet for a seat.
