Veterans Isle Raises Almost 140,000 Linden Dollars
Sunday April 26 was the day of Veterans Isle's monthly live music benefit concert. The event started at 5PM SL time and lasted until 9PM (Midnight EST). Organized in part by Frets Nirvana, the occasion was to raise money for the Homes For Our Troops veterans charity
Tonight is the night folks ….it is Homes For Our Troops benefit time! Up next is Tone Uriza at 5 PM, he has been kind enough to help us with this great cause ….one that is needed now more than ever. Here is the schedule:
Tone Uriza 5-6 PM
Melenda Baptiste 6-7 PM
Lark Bowen 7-8 PM
Ry Anne 8-9 PM
As each of the four performers played to the audience, people donated money to the house-shaped kiosks on either side of the stage. Occasionally, Frets would match a sizeable donation, or add a certain amount of money if enough was donated within an amount of time.
A total of 139,765 Linden dollars would be raised that night.
Usually fundraising concerts are on the last Sunday on each month. With Memorial Day Weekend on May 23-25, the one for this month may be a week earlier or later.
